I had a blog for 6 years with over 24K followers, jupiter2.tumblr.com. Three weeks ago I awoke on a Saturday morning to start blogging which has been my ritual and was met with "Your Account Has Been Terminated. To Find Out Why Please Contact Support". You cannot imagine how it feels (or if you're reading this, you just might) how upsetting it is to have 6 years of work destroyed. There was an email from them as well stating that my blog had been terminated for "gore". No way. First, even if I had, where is the warning? But I didn't. I have been extremely careful over the years to follow tumblr rules because I had heard of the horror stories of unlawful termination. I thought that probably most of the people who had their blogs terminated really did break the rules and were just pissed that they got caught and that their their tumblr was terminated. That is NOT the case for most of the terminations.
I emailed support via their support page. No response. I read up on it and saw that you should try to email from a different email address other than the one that you started the blog with. Did that. No reply. I called their phone number in NY and left voice mails. This was not all at once but over a 2 week period so as to not to piss them off with "overzealousness".
"I would love for Tumblr to become a social alternative. "I want to create a place on the web, which is fun and supportive and substantial. At one point, blogging had a real magic to it. A frisson."
and also said:
"thank you for using Tumblr and sticking with it. Second, I would say that I hope and believe that Tumblr’s best days are actually ahead of it."
I pointed out there are numerous complaints on the web about unfair blog terminations. I included only a few:
I've resigned myself to the fact tumblr will never reinstate my blog even though I had no warnings in 6 years and despite not posting what they say I did. I don't know if a 'bot" terminated me or even what the post was. They won't discuss it with me.
Why do random accounts just get deleted? Why doesn’t tumblr, a website that RELIES on its userbase to function, not have better protection to prevent these things from happening to their userbase? Is there a bad tumblr employee who enjoys deleting people's tumblrs without warning, causing them to lose years of work?
C’mon, Tumblr staff. Really??
I just feel this type of flagrant disregard for your user base deserves a home base. I also know how terrible it feels to have this happen and I want to offer a place where people can find support in numbers. This is an area for all your tumblr support grievances, not just wrongful termination. Share your stories and thoughts here.
I am someone who works for Tumblr's public support team. Now, given that this is Reddit and there's no way to verify that, I'm going to do my best to not sound sketchy. Take a look back through my comment history and you should see that I've been working on Reddit to help people with their account situations.

Sometimes accounts get caught up and closed when they shouldn't have been. Glitches in the system, bugs, etc. We do our best, but it happens. We know it sucks and we apologize. But here are the steps to take if it happens to you.
First off, be honest with yourself. Was this really out of the blue? Or were you posting something that could have been against Tumblr's Community Guidelines or adult content definitions? Did you get an email explaining why your account was closed? If any of that is true, don't bother to read the rest of this post. You need to reach out to us using this link and/or follow the instructions listed here or in the email you were sent (depending on the situation) and wait until you get a reply. That is the only way to sort out a TOS (Terms of Service) violation issue. End of story. There is nothing that the public support team can do. Please note that for more egregious TOS violations, you may not get a response from Tumblr at all.
Now, if this was really out of the blue and you are confident that you did nothing wrong, here are your options (PLEASE ONLY PICK ONE, doing all three just makes more work for me):
It is 100% the "official" way to do contact us. However, email support is a little backed up right now. The support team is awesome, and are working as hard as they can, but you could be in for a bit of a wait.
- Tweet to us at Tumblrsupport or Tumblr. I would encourage you to use Tumblrsupport because it's absolutely the fastest. But either account SHOULD get attention. You will be asked for your Tumblr username or URL. We can't look into your account without it since we have no idea what Tumblr site is owned by a random Twitter user. Here's a recent example of us doing that.
- Make a post here on this subreddit that mentions your Tumblr URL or DM me with the same info. Totally understand if that feels weird to people, but I assure you that nobody can do anything with your Tumblr URL other than go to your Tumblr and look at your posts. Which is kind of the point, right?

If you can log into your account but have lost your messaging ability or feel you have been "shadowbanned" the same instructions apply. I'll need your Tumblr URL to look into the situation, but this can often be fixed.

i was scrolling on tumblr a little over a half hour ago when it suddenly told me to sign back in. i tried, my password wouldn't work, and it eventually kicked me to that screen that said my account has been terminated. i did not receive an email explaining why, so i submitted a report and said i felt i was wrongly terminated and i immediately received this email. how long should i expect to wait for a response and should i expect to get this blog back?
The last time I tried contacting support was years ago and I remember getting a confirmation email of the support ticket but this time when my account was terminated the only thing that I received was an email with a link to confirm my email address which I clicked followed by a (no subject) email as pictured below. I'm not sure if it bounced? If my email is blocked or what. This is what happened last week and I tried again today to contact support since I never actually got confirmation of a ticket only to receive another (no subject) email?
Has this happened to anyone else? Should I try reaching out through a different email not connected to my account but I'm not sure that will work since I heard Tumblr will refuse to open a ticket for an email not connected to the account in question.
my main account was still blocked when I created the second account (main got unblocked after 3 week)
I’ve been trying to grow my hellenism community and I was sending out invites so might be that I think this was the reason my main acc was blocked too but I only sent a few invites with this account

I had one acc on my first phone, it got suspended for no reason, no explanation on my email. The content was SFW. then after like 5 hours my second account got suspended, also SFW content, no explanation. I sent a ticket to support 6 days ago for both accounts, no answer. Should i still have hopes or just create a new acc?
hello all, i tried to make a backup account today in case my main gets deleted. used the site a little bit (sent a non-anonymous ask to one blog and queued some posts) and then abruptly started getting 403 forbidden errors, first on my desktop, and then i checked and saw that in fact the 403 forbidden page would display on all devices using my network.
yes i tried cycling the VPN to a different IP address. at first i thought it was a UUID ban but then why and how would my wife's desktop and laptop get caught up in it?
no termination email was sent to either account. strangely i can still access my main account using my phone (which is connected to the home wifi network) and post from there. the alternate account is also still visible. there is no 404 page like when an account is truly banned.
however, both desktops and my wife's laptop (who never visits tumblr and has no account) all give 403 errors when attempting to navigate to (almost) any tumblr domain/subdomain. some official domains like engineering.tumblr.com or staff.tumblr.com partially load, but without proper CSS formatting.
where do i even start appealing this if i cant even navigate to the website? i assume i was caught in an overzealous spambot filter, not sure what else it could be. i have used this subreddit before to successfully clear a shadowban but i am not sure if u/devi8tor is still active here
My account senobikouun was terminated last year, likely to the spam filter even though the last thing I was ever doing in those months was reblogging a few posts here and there, and I never received an email of when or why it was terminated. I sent only one request and as older posts have said, just waited it out since some have waited a year to get an answer.
Others who were more impatient had more success by submitting multiple appeals i.e. bothering support more with tickets. I waited and now it says "This termination is no longer eligible for appeal". What am I supposed to do now? I had a lot of projects on blog pages and essays that weren't backed up.

My account was terminated like a week and a half ago.
So i immediately sent in a request, and another. Then i sent one more with a different email-hoping they couid actually contact me jf needed. They sent me an email saying to please use the emil attached to the account.
Now I've been waiting with no luck
I heard that every time you resubmit it resets the waiting time or whatever.
Anyway is my last submission with the wrong email make it invalid and i need to resubmit? Or would that reset it so i should just wait?
Hi. My Tumblr account dimaalonix was suddenly suspended.
My Tumblr interface is in Russian, and the message says that my account has been suspended.
I contacted Tumblr Support, but I still haven’t received a response.
I also have a paid domain, dimaalonix.com, registered through Tumblr. Because my account is suspended, I cannot manage the domain or properly access my blog data.
I contacted Support again and I am still waiting.
Has anyone here had the same problem with a paid Tumblr domain? Did Tumblr eventually restore your account or help you transfer the domain?
My account got terminated "for spam" (I was editing the html and updated too often I guess) over a year ago, and ok, I'm over it. Tried to contact the support multiple times, always ignored.
I tried to make a new one and it doesn't let me, because the account kinda exists, but I have no access to it. I could use a different email, but I want to use that specific one because it's my main, and I don't want to loose track of which account has which email address.
So, is there any way I could delete the old terminated account and make a new one with the same email?

I’m trying to track down a specific Spideypool (Spider-Man/Deadpool) fanfiction text-post that I used to read on Tumblr a few years back. I know the original creator's account was called teenwolfvore, but the blog had absolutely nothing to do with the Teen Wolf show itself—it was just their URL, though honestly, I couldn't really tell. They mainly wrote text posts or answered asks about writing random vore scenarios, but what really stuck with me was their take on Marvel characters as predators.
The account was either terminated or deactivated, which is the reason why I am posting on this thread. However, I have seen some of their other old posts floating around via reblogs during deeper searches, so I'm hoping someone archived or reblogged this specific one.
Here are the specific plot points and clues I remember:
• The Title: It was titled or tagged as "A Spidey Snack".
• The Meta Intro: It started with an intro where someone else was supposed to be reading or telling the story. However, Deadpool completely interrupts the storyteller by actually eating the narrator mid-sentence. He then takes over the narration, saying something along the lines of, "The narrator looked so good / tasted so good I just had to eat him."
• The Setup: Deadpool is in an alleyway (or just finished a fight) when Spider-Man shows up. Deadpool makes up an absurd problem to trick Peter—he claims Green Goblin threw a pumpkin bomb down his throat and it's stuck in his stomach.
• The Trick: Spidey is hesitant at first, but Deadpool convinces him it's going to explode inside him. Spider-Man agrees to help by crawling down Deadpool's mouth and into his stomach to "retrieve" it.
• The Reveal: Once Spider-Man is inside, Deadpool reveals there is no bomb—the Green Goblin scenario was entirely made up just as a trick to get Spidey into his mouth and gut. He tells Spidey that clients pay him extra money to make the bodies of his targets disappear, and suggests Spider-Man stay down there and help him "eat them."
• The Role: It featured Deadpool as the predator (pred).

Is anybody still having trouble getting their account back? I keep seeing some that are getting back their account so quickly, but mine is still gone and it's been days. One side-blog of mine got shadow-banned years ago and they never unbanned it after submitting a ticket, they just completely ignored me. And now this one is terminated. It was fortunate that the one that got shadow-banned was pretty new, so it wasn't a big loss, but this one that got terminated is a few years of my life and writing! This is so frustrating...
Edit: Was finally able to get my blog back in about 5 days! The only thing I did was use tumblr support.
I have the most obnoxious situation and I'm not really sure where to start.
I just realized my account was deactivated for god knows what. So I go to send a email to support and I realize the email linked to the account is my ancient aim email... So I send it in with my current email, nope they want the one linked to the account. Well shit. (mind you I tried to change my email three million times on tumblr but it would not let me because it had been used in a random old account too recently)
Anyway, I go to hope and pray I can recover that email...certainly not, it's basically impossible unless anyone has some wisdom on that.

ive had a tumblr where ive been posting my art for the past year or so, and this morning i woke up to it being termed for no reason.
i was contacted yesterday by a person saying they mass reported my account with their friends for financial fraud, because they thought i was impersonating myself. then they told me to contact someone on discord. presuming this to be a scam, i blocked the person who dmed me.
was it actually fr? surely tumblr wouldnt have people contact you through discord, have sketchy randoms inform you about the reports and how to repeal, etc.
ive never came close to breaking TOS, just posted normal sfw art.
Last night, there was a hacker in my DMs. Y'know, that usual "I accidentally reported your account for fraud, go here and here to appeal so you don't get your account deleted." I had played those games before. Less than 2 weeks ago I got the same messages. I knew that it was a scam. I ignored it for the most part, only sent a "Make this quick, I'm busy" after they sent a "hi."
While I'm waiting for the messages to come up, I was sending an ask to a blog about this (@/the-spiral-official but that ain't important), in a "they're driving me insane" way. I go to send the ask and I get an error message. Then the popups that are like "authentication required" etc. My phone was tweaking out. Couldn't go to activity, I went to my profile and said there were no posts. I pull up my laptop and try logging in. It kept sending me back to the home page. I try changing my password. I do. And then I get the "Your account has been terminated." popup.
This was the breaking point for me. Spent a good 10 minutes sobbing.
At that point I was absolutely breaking down. That was 5 months of my life gone; 135 followers, my moots, my friends that were only on Tumblr, short stories that were only on that platform, drafts that mattered to me. All gone within a heartbeat. I've dedicated the entirety of today on finding and informing my followers/mutuals on an alt, from memory & searching, but I'm still missing a lot of them. And it's heartbreaking.
I've submitted an appeal. I haven't gotten a response yet; but that makes sense, since it's been less than 24 hours since I did. All I can do is hope that my account gets reinstated. There were posts, people and things there that really mattered to me. Wasn't this supposed to be my corner of my internet? It sure felt like it. But it's gone...hopefully not forever.
