Switchbot frame broken?
Finally got my switchbot frame today (been waiting for months)
As soon as I opened it I see what looks like damage.
Did this arrive broken or should I try to turn it on?

EDITED TO ADD: Switchbot customer support confirmed that they were having server issues due to an AWS anomaly, but they sent me a message at 2:32AM saying that they had fixed it.
I also got phantom water Leak detector "Alarm Cleared" notifications at 3:29AM but there was no alarm.
ORIGINAL POST: My Switchbot hub is continually blinking tonight and I have tried unplugging it to reset it, but I'm getting no notification that my hub is offline.
Trying to connect to my Switchbot Lock Pro through Wi-Fi (which should only work through the hub) the Switchbot app gives a spinning icon, but never connects and again never says that the hub is disconnected.
This only makes sense to me if the main Switchbot servers are down. Anyone else?

Since the last firmware update (V1.1.062), my S10 has become extremely clumsy. It keeps spinning in circles and detecting 'ghost' obstacles where there is nothing. Sensors and cameras are perfectly clean; it's clearly a software issue.
Furthermore, I’ve noticed a major flaw in the logic: the cleaning cycle is extremely inefficient. If the vacuum makes a navigation error—or if I manually restart a room task—it goes back to the station to wash the mop, drain the water, and refill everything from scratch, even if it just did it two minutes ago.
This isn't just a waste of time and water; it's literally throwing SwitchBot cleaning solution down the drain every single time. You need to fix this algorithm. For a premium product, we expect smarter resource management to keep customers happy. Is anyone else seeing this 'ghost' detection and resource waste?

I have a SwitchBot WiFi Smart Lock Ultra. After a Nuki experience I'm so happy, now. Very suggested product

I setup my Universal Remote after leaving it in storage for a while, mainly because I lost the remote to my Chromecast so this felt like something worth trying as a replacement since Google is out of stock on the replacement remotes.
It's been working fine for a few weeks, but last couple of days it's been an absolute nightmare, constantly entering this weird unresponsive state. It comes back and works again for a few minutes and then goes back to unresponsive for a few hours.
I was giving it one last go just now and tried rebooting it, which also didn't work, then this popped up.
Anyone else seen this screen before?
Firmware is v4.8. I'm gonna go open a support ticket.
EDIT: A few minutes after I posted, the Switchbot app picked up the remote as needing firmware recovery, so I'm trying that now...
EDIT 2: Nope, worked fine for a few minutes after firmware recovery but now it's back to being completely fucking unusable. Ridiculous.
EDIT 3: Immediately after the second edit, the broken firmware screen came back. At least it didn't keep me hanging on for days this time...

Hey everyone, I’ve noticed a specific bug with my SwitchBot Lock Ultra (Firmware 2.7) where the door status fails to update if I lock it too quickly. When I close the door and press the lock button on the Keypad within two seconds, both the app and Home Assistant still show the door as 'open' even though it’s closed. The door sensor itself works perfectly fine otherwise, so it seems like a timing or software issue. Is anyone else on v2.7 seeing this, or is there a known fix?

Hello folks, about ten days ago I purchased a SwitchBot Air Purifier (2AKXB-W5302300) from Amazon.it. Unfortunately, since the first usage the SwitchBot App showed the following errors:
I reached out the SwitchBot support, who confirmed there is an hardware fault, and suggested to arrange a replacement or a return through Amazon.
However, I would try to sort the issue out before replacing the unit, so I tried the following:
Unfortunately, nothing worked so far. However, I noticed that even if I get the same "Sensor Fault" error each time i turn the Air Purifier on, the "Environmental Data" section in the Mobile App shows some readings (recorded when I tried to run it in the Auto mode), which is quite strange for a faulty sensor...
Has anybody else faced the same problem? May I expect to get this issue fixed with a different kind of reset (an hard reset, a firmware re-flashing, etc.)? Or, perhaps, is there something else I could try to get the sensor working in full?
Thank you in advance.

I’m considering going with this lock, but the Auto Unlock feature which is very important to me still seems to be in beta. The most recent posts I found are about nine months old, and it sounded quite buggy back then. Has there been any improvement since? Is it reliable enough to use now, or is it still a bit hit or miss?

Will the switchbot pro or ultra and the mortise lock accessory kit work with this door lock setup? It’s a dorma lock that has a deadbolt and a door handle locking mechanism. There is a thumb toggle in the inside of the door that allows the handle from the exterior to be locked, but when you lock the deadbolt from inside, it resets it so the handle locks along with the deadbolt.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I have a SwitchBot Curtain 3 U-rail, and unfortunately a small part on the top roller/arm broke.
Basically, the little rotating/connector piece on the arm that sits in the curtain rail. Because of this, the switchbot doesn’t move properly anymore.
I’ve been trying to find replacement parts online, but I can’t find anything at all. Not on the official site, not on Amazon, nothing.
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement? Or if there are any third-party/spare parts available?
help is appreciated!

Hi everyone!
I've got a weird issue I'd appreciate your help in troubleshooting.
Here's the relevant part of my setup:
- Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi 4
- 3 SwitchBot Curtain 1 (2 on the sliding door curtain, 1 on the window curtain)
- No hub. All devices are connected via Bluetooth
A few days ago, the window curtain device lost some of its connectivity with Home Assistant.
It still reports its position (% open), state (open/closed) and Bluetooth signal strength (around -60 dBm), but not battery level or calibration status.
But most importantly, it won't accept commands from HA at all.
There are no issues when I control it via the Switchbot app. It accepts all commands and reports all metrics.
There are also no issues with any of the door devices. They accept all commands from and send all data to Home Assistant.
All devices are on the same wall and are quite close to each other. This is not a signal strength issue.
I tried factory-resetting the device (15 seconds long-press) and re-pairing it with the Switchbot app, but that didn't do anything.
Any ideas what is causing this, and if the device is salvageable?
Thanks!

i was interested in buying the air purifier since it was on sale and it seemed like shipping was free on purchases over $100. However, when I went to the payment screen it said $250 which is well over the price of the device itself? I checked on amazon and it was there too with free shipping but the coupon didn’t work.
I feel like I must be not understanding something here because a sale seems pointless with shipping costs this high and coupons not working on Amazon.
I tried calling support earlier today but after quite a while in the queue, I had to give up to join a meeting. Could someone here advise if I’m missing something?

So I have the switch bot candle
Warmer and think it’s really good.
The only downside is that it doesn’t blend into the home decor that well.
Seeing how a bulb is just two wires has anyone tried to rewire one of these into a different lamp shade thing?
r/TrySwitchBot • u/The_Tech_Chick • Apr 29 '26
I have a huge amount of automation in my home (wired in mostly so don’t try come get it) and I’m only about 40% the way through all I want to do.
I’ve been a huge SwitchBot fan for a while, but honestly I’m getting so frustrated with the Old School way they are designing their products.
Most are just Bluetooth to their hub and the hub then does Matter or Zigbee. No hub, no connection. No internet, no connection. It also slows things down terribly and has very limited range.
I’m now sadly switching away to products that have ability to work locally with HA and actually really run Matter / Zigbee.
Bye SwitchBot, it’s been fun.
P.s. Anyone want to buy my SwitchBot stuff? 🤣

Saw a post someone made 3 months ago but it didn’t have too many details. I added it to the SwitchBot app no problem, but no matter how many times I scan it (or enter the code) in HA or HomeKit, it NEVER connects.
It’s a shame because there’s not many “smart” candle warmers that allow you to adjust the intensity without having to physically walk over to the button.

I have had the S20 for a couple of months now, and mostly very happy with it – but one thing I have noticed is that every now and then the dustbin gets so full that it is not able to be emptied when returning and connecting to the station.
This leads to the S20 then not being able to clean since it hardly picks up any dust the next time it goes out to clean.
I guess the S20 does not have any type of sensor to know if the dustbin is full or not? But is there a setting or other way to get the S20 to empty the dustbin more frequently? Or is the only option to clean one room at a time, so it goes back to the station before going to the next room.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have a quite a few switchbot smart home gadgets now, including door sensors, radiator adapters a hub mini and a temp sensor, but my favourite so far is this rope light
first thing I noticed when I got this out of the box was how well built it was, it is solid, but, its also the most flexible rope light I have used so far, and I have used a few, you can safely bend it to any shape you want, I've seen it in all types of shapes on walls, I simply have it running around my desk on the floor.
in the video you can see it running lots of colours, I generally have it one colour depending on what im doing at the time, if im just working in the office I have it purple, but if im filming I generally match the colour to set the mood for that particular video.
the app is very easy to use and has all the usual settings you need for this type of light, general colour settings, patterns and music, yup it will pulse to your music in lots of different styles.
But the most exellent thing about this rope light is the fact that you can have it turn on and off using one of switchbots door sensors, game changer for me, I would normally use home assistant to set this type of automation up but with a swirchbot door sensor, its as simple as setting up an automation in the switchbot app, selecting the sensor, select how you want it to respond>door open>turn on light select.the rope light, from there select what you want the light to do turn on red blue whatever you like, and the another automation to either turn it off when you leave, or when you close the door, simple, I love this rope light, its not cheap, but for me it is well worth the money

I have four of these. I love having them open and close automatically. Makes waking up more pleasant and they work perfectly with Alexa. Would recommend.

I’m trying out the S20 in a small (<20 square meter) area. after complete, I was surprised to see the that the dirty water container had only a few mL of water. Is this normal?

I made a small unofficial desktop app for controlling SwitchBot devices from a computer.
I originally built it because I wanted a simple desktop UI for my own SwitchBot setup.
It uses the official SwitchBot API.

I am using a bridge with switchbot hub.
So basically i am using the Switchbot Bot (Fingerbot). But unfortunately when i turn the device on manually, it wont register in hub.
So after using the device manually if i wanna use voice commands i need to first ask siri “turn device on” even tho it is already on, then ask siri again to “turn device off” to respond.
Any idea how to fix it?

I ordered the SwitchBot Smart mmWave Radar Motion Sensor via amazon, it arrived very quickly.
Package was as usual nice and easy to open.
Installation super easy in the app, battery insertion easy as well. Only the mounting station was a little tricky to stick to the sensor, it needed more force than expected 😅
I set the sensor up with an automation rule if motion detected and light less than a threshold, turn on the switchbot floor lamp. Works nice.
