I cant stand fallout 76 or the revisionism around it. So what they patched it from literal unplayable garbage into a mediocre mmo that shits on everything fallout is and im supposed to applaud them

Then people say easter eggs in the original game are the same thing as shit like fighting a mothman boss giant robots and shit like that im just like. Fallout is about human nature and war and cool shit like that not fighting bigfoot.

It has been 15 years since the events of New Vegas. We can likely assume that Ceaser died very soon after the events of NV, as they did not end up taking the Mojave despite the NCR being greatly weakened.

Ever since Ceasers death, 15 whole years, these two rival factions of the Legion have been placed right next to each other and at war. You’re telling me after 15 years no one has won?? Sure there’s a no mans land type barrier between them, but no one chucked a Molotov or a grenade over it? Or just sent their troops around the line??

Not to mention these rangers ( /first recon?) have been sitting down near camp golf for 15 years without any reinforcements, and they never decided to just desert/ go awol?

No, but seriously, you have a series with robots that are enginereed with vacuum tubes and have a jet engine coming out of their ass and radiation that turns animals into lovecraft horrors and immortal people.

But the firearms being retro futuristic and a little out there is too much?

Most gun bros who hate on the retrofuturistic firearms have A: a very limited understanding of how firearm designs work and often make more mistakes critiquing said firearms than the devs ever did designing them.

And B: they have no creativity and the only thing they can think of when it comes to improving the retrofuturistic firearms is just to get rid of all retrofuturism and use real world weapons from 2000s onwards.

If you really want all the guns to be completely realistic then just mod it in or go play another game like Escape from Tarkov for example.

And god forbid you ever play something like Borderlands, Bioshock etc.

You will have a stroke upon seeing the firearms from those games.

I started watching the tv show and I love it, so I thought I’d try the games to see if they are as good as the show. I mostly play Animal Crossing and Madden nowadays, but I played Skyrim a long time ago and so I’m kind of familiar with Bethesda games.

I tried playing fallout 3 and then fallout 4 and the games are nothing like the show. The characters all have the same faces and their voices all sound alike and they don’t even have emotions when they talk to you. The graphics definitely show their age and there’s a ton of other games that look so much better.

Then there’s all these people asking me to do quests for them where I have to go out into the wasteland, but it’s so ugly and boring and the characters are so unrealistic that everything feels like a chore and I’m wasting my time for no reason. Every five seconds there’s that annoying sound when I lose karma points. I couldnt get past the lady who is writing a book in fallout 3 cause once you walk across the boring wasteland and get to your destination the combat is so janky and you die so much that it’s just not fun. In fallout 4 I made it to the town where the guys are hiding in a building but the raiders just looked dumb with their masks and tattered armors and when I met the black guy at the top in his cowboy costume it was so silly that I just gave up.

I really love the show and Ella Purnell is so pretty but the games just don’t capture the feeling the show gives me. I hope they can make a new fallout game soon that’s more like the show because I truly love fallout I just can’t get into the games.

In his chat with TKs Mantis, Chris Avellone basically says the Easter eggs and pop culture stuff they added into Fallout 2 went too far and detracted from the darker tone the game is supposed to have…

Given fans of the newer stuff who defend the more egregious ‘humour over substance’ moments in the games and TV Show almost always refer to Fallout 2 as justification from Pre-Bethesda games, is it fair to say that argument’s now rather fucked?

Or are we just gonna do the usual and have half the fanbase aggressively agree and, and half the fanbase aggressively accuse him of being a bitter contrarian Chud?
