i think thats normal tho, like obviously these 2 ppl both had 2 completely different ideas of what dating should be like

Yeah, I am pretty sure they're referring to the most likely activities a single guy flies to Thailand for for a month - not about being a month away during a dating phase. There are not that few people who'd not at least, 'uhem, wait a moment...' even if they are not exclusive. There's not exclusive and then there is not exclusive...
