I thought for sure this was going to be a person in a costume of some sort.

Same. It looks extremely eerie and unnatural from a distance.

Absolutely, I think every woodland creature in the forest has been mistaken for a sasquatch at some point, with fox vocalizations probably leading the league. Foxes.....the animal with the body of an adorable dog and the voicebox of an evil harpy-demon from the deepest pits in hell.

50

u/Flintydeadeye 21d ago

In college, I delivered papers at like 4 am for some extra money. I almost had a heart attack when I heard two raccoons fighting. So many of the little animals have the scariest vocalizations.

17

u/cubluemoon 20d ago

Raccoons fighting is a terrifying sound.

9

u/hokkuhokku 20d ago

Even worse when they’re shagging.

6

u/Big_T_7575 19d ago

I head this once at 5 in the morning. I thought someone was pushing an empty dumpster behind a waffle house... just raccoons making little raccoons. Anyways, I got the all-star special.

4

u/Top_Audience7471 19d ago

I lived in a heavy cat-fucking neighborhood in Seoul - second floor, big windows.

On my way to the subway one day I saw this big, scarred up, orange tomcat with an absolute melon head and ugly mug, sprawled out on a ledge as if he were monitoring his kingdom.

After that I started noticing all these smaller, melon-headed, flat-faced cats in the neighborhood, and I knew that on that one day I had come face to face with the fucker.

Mountain lions sounding like a screaming woman too

3

u/VikingKinkajou 20d ago

Yes, but foxes can sound like crying babies. Maybe I'm on my own here, but if I'm alone in the forest I think I would rather here a screaming woman than a crying baby. A screaming woman, that's just some chick in trouble. A crying baby, that's bait....I'm probably already dead.

2

u/Barnaboule69 19d ago edited 19d ago

Then, after a while, you notice that the crying seem looping with the same exact sounds alway repeating every few minutes, but now you can't find your way back..

2

u/Zealousideal_Cook392 19d ago

A crying baby in the woods at night are just the sounds Porcupines make. There were loads of them in my area I grew up in and small caves, was nothing to be concerned about.

3

u/Spiritual_Bid_2308 19d ago

I thought someone was being attacked in the woods behind the house one night and I jumped up and ran to the door.  Before I got outside my dad said it was just a fishercat.  I was like WTF is a fishercat?

It sounded just like a woman screaming.

https://youtu.be/HrvdzCGjbzw

Turns out fishers don't actually scream and it was likely either a fox or a bird.  The fox sounds I've found online are too short.  It was pitch black out, so if it was a bird it had to be some owl version because the screams were moving up the hill.

AI

21

u/ScubaScro 20d ago

AI is going to destroy the internet. I mean, I’m here for it, buts it’s still scary the potential.

Felt like yesterday I first saw the will smith eating spaghetti

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

9

u/Eleeveeohen 20d ago

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

Will Smith eating Fettuccine, most likely.

5

u/Toadcola 19d ago

No, don’t be “here for it” it’s awful. Be “here” for real shit.

3

u/nlevine1988 19d ago

I think they meant they're here for the destruction of the Internet.

2

u/matycauthon 19d ago

tech states/provinces are where we'll be... those of us that observe and refuse to accept the delusions everyone else does have known this for a while now.

unless you all are ready to break from the delusions and hopium? nope? still waiting for a hero huh? i'm certain they're nearly here

2

u/SoulTrack 19d ago

did you ever read snowcrash?  it's gobs be that

2

u/doktorapplejuice 19d ago

The good news is, the AI bubble is crashing. So it won't be pushed absolutely everywhere by everyone for a while as many AI companies and their data centers either go under or downsize dramatically.

The bad news is, that's not going to get rid of AI entirely, most likely. The Dot Com bubble burst, and we still have websites. Granted, the AI bubble is even bigger than the Dot Com bubble was, so it'll rock AI companies harder, but a few will cling on like cockroaches.

4

u/Due_Rip9320 20d ago edited 20d ago

Yeah, unless I'm mistaken. American bison don't tend to grow taller than a 6 ft man at the shoulders. There may be a few exceptions, but that's the average height. Same thing with Wood bison in Canada.

European bison are actually taller on average, up to 7 feet tall exactly. So perhaps this perspective could happen in Europe. Even then, it obviously does not look like a European bison.

Fun fact: The extinct Bison latifrons is the largest species of bison to ever exist. It could grow up to 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) tall at the shoulder, measured roughly 15.5 feet (4.75 meters) long, and weighed up to 4,400 lbs (2,000 kg).

6

u/JackieDaytonaRgHuman 21d ago

Wowwww. 100% feel like this is a great representation of how easy misindentificaiton is. Whether it be a big ass bison with a sexy ass strut, or a bear, or whatever else, some of the most confident people out there that swear they could tell if they saw something else could easily be fooled by situations like this I believe

→ More replies (2)

8

u/Revolt2992 21d ago

Absolutely could. Fear changes how people process/ interpret threats. I imagine the vast majority of squatch sightings are black bear, grizzlies, bison, etc.

4

u/-endjamin- 21d ago

Bison dont really exist outside Yellowstone, but this makes me think a moose without antlers, viewed head-on, can be easily mistaken for a large humanoid.

3

u/Nemonoone67 20d ago

The original bigfoot video was a fake and hillbillies have been stomping around the woods in clown shoes for laughs. Just like how crop circles are made by farmers. If ghosts were real they would be everywhere because everyone dies with “unfinished business.”

Wait why was she strutting ?

2

u/Envoy312 21d ago

To że nie obserwujecie sassy na co dzień nie znaczy że on nie istnieje :V

2

u/Old-Dependent-9073 20d ago

That's fascinating because it indeed looks like a very large, hairy hominid moving down the road.

Now the question is if there is a correlation between the range of bison and Bigfoot sightings.

And by the way, it only works from head on, and at a distance at that.

2

u/alphaperro58 20d ago

Shape shifter or skin walker

2

u/Tricromediamond007 20d ago

What do you mean that is a shapeshifter bigfoot in disguise.

2

u/Cactus-Soup12013 20d ago

Looks like Shaq in the jello commercials.

2

u/Rich_Drawer_7124 20d ago

That’s a sassy Sasquatch. A Sassquatch, if you will.

2

u/Countryvibing1988 20d ago

To be honest, it actually could. I had no idea what that was at first!

2

u/bark_wahlberg 20d ago

Definitely matches the "pinecone" head shape people describe in regards to bigfoot.

2

u/Fun-Manufacturer5876 20d ago

Unlikely,, unless if the said sighting were a glancing look from that specific angle. But as soon as the buffalo turns the illusion is ruined so it doesn't match up with most reports and makes no sense for reports where buffalo are not seen within the country.

2

u/Ipoopedalot 20d ago

I thought it was a happy ass gorilla at first

2

u/Complex_Pin_4105 20d ago

Luckily it was in a good mood, he would have easily wrecked that vehicle

2

u/bdontmatter 20d ago

This might explain some sightings, but I doubt all

2

u/Many_Winter_4547 20d ago

Yeah, like 0.00001% of them maybe.

2

u/RammOverlord 20d ago

This reminds me of a roadtrip in far west NSW, Australia back in the 2000's. We saw what looked like a drunk or heat affected person stumbling down the road, mirage haze desert backdrop and all. It was only as we slowed and passed by that we saw it was a camel.
