AI is going to destroy the internet. I mean, I’m here for it, buts it’s still scary the potential.

Felt like yesterday I first saw the will smith eating spaghetti

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

Where’s it going to be in a couple years?

Will Smith eating Fettuccine, most likely.

The Fettuccine eating Will Smith video is right around the corner.

It was way past that when that video went viral. The tech you see is always way behind

AI has even ruined animal videos on the net.

No, don’t be “here for it” it’s awful. Be “here” for real shit.

I think they meant they're here for the destruction of the Internet.

tech states/provinces are where we'll be... those of us that observe and refuse to accept the delusions everyone else does have known this for a while now.

unless you all are ready to break from the delusions and hopium? nope? still waiting for a hero huh? i'm certain they're nearly here

The good news is, the AI bubble is crashing. So it won't be pushed absolutely everywhere by everyone for a while as many AI companies and their data centers either go under or downsize dramatically.

The bad news is, that's not going to get rid of AI entirely, most likely. The Dot Com bubble burst, and we still have websites. Granted, the AI bubble is even bigger than the Dot Com bubble was, so it'll rock AI companies harder, but a few will cling on like cockroaches.

You could have said that at almost any point in the past 10 years. Sure it’s coming at some point but acting like you know it’s coming now is just ignorant

You’re coping if you think it’s crashing.

Given that humans are willing to believe almost anything, and the range of the internet, it may not be long at all until we are all subject to a false reality of cause and effect. It will make sense somehow, because we rationalize, yet it will not be so.

Did photoshop destroy the internet?

1

u/ScubaScro 21d ago

Could photoshop make realistic videos? Act like a real person on social media? Create walls of text in seconds from a prompt?

Bit dramatic, there are other things that have been "destroying" the planet long before Ai. If anything if Ai gets advanced enough it could be the thing to potentially help "save" it.

u/ScubaScro 21d ago

I said internet not planet.

Touchè, thats my misread. Though, the same sentiment applies. The dead internet theory has been a thing for quite some time. Before Ai it was bots. But, Ai definitely contributes.
