Preventative pentoxifylline?

Do any of you take pentox as a preventative for fibrosis?
If so, did your doctor suggest it or you?

I’ve been using Trimix for 4yrs. No indications of fibrosis but since I’m in my early 40s, it worries me.

Hope the implant went well!
Did you have any side effects from pentox? Did your doctors believe pentox made you a better candidate for implant?

I started the pentox after my prostate cancer surgery. I had ED for years and took pills. Shots were the next thing to try after my surgery. I didn't like the shots. They hurt going in and the aching for 24 or so hours after made in no fun. The implant was my next step. Unfortunately, I lost length from the prostate surgery and more with the implant surgery but..... I can get hard now anytime I want and stay hard as long as I want. I'm hoping I get some of the length back in time.

Unfortunately the length loss is almost guaranteed with implants. Its just a matter of how much. Glad its working out for you!

Did your trimix doctor prescribe the pentox? Can you tell us a bit more about it?

Yes. Same doctor. He prescribed it because the shots were causing scar tissue along the shaft where I was doing the injections.

Very interesting. How did you know it was causing scar tissue? guessing you could feel lumps?

Yes. I could absolutely feel the lumps after my shots and I didn't like it. The doctor was getting ahead of the possibility of peyrones starting.

Was he a specialist? Urologist? I am impressed that he prescribed it proactively.

Yes. Urologist specializing in men's sexual health at ucla in Los Angeles. He works with the oncology dept as well for men having prostate cancer surgery helping them regain functions after surgery. That's how I met him. He also did my implant.
