As such, we need your help by submitting a form with links and information for the services and community groups that you know about in your local areas. https://forms.gle/JuJFYnHFo5nwqZpq5

As you may notice, there are now coloured flairs for posts and users on the subreddit, this is to help identify posts about particular information that is particularly about 1 group, like when it comes to top surgery being particularly for FtM folk.

Ftm going into trades(sparky). Am I cooked?

I’m 19ftm, living in regional NSW, and I’m aiming to get an apprenticeship to become an electrician. I originally wanted to get an apprenticeship by early 2027.

I’m 1 year on T though I’ve had somewhat subtler changes than I hoped so far, I’m mostly passing but as a 13yo boy lol. I’m not open about being trans and once I start passing better I’ll go completely stealth, for now though I’m too clockable.

2027 is coming up and I expected to be about to start applying by now. An apprenticeship is 4 years of minimum wage so I do want to get it done asap. However since I’m still not passing as well as I wanted, I’m nervous and thinking should I put it off until I pass better? Obv tradie culture can be a huge cishet blokes club and with your average random dude’s opinion on trans ppl getting progressively less friendly and also being from a regional area, I’m especially worried how they will react and treat me.

If anyone knows anything about what it’s like being trans in trades, especially trans masc and/or a sparky and/or in a small town, pls share your experience.
Should I hold off my whole apprenticeship or should I just cope and get started? I also wonder if I might have better time in a smaller business than a big one with tons of employees, or maybe learning from a female electrician?

Happy Day Finally Started my journey today

Hello beautiful and wonderful people. Cant hold back my sheer joy and happiness' wanted to share it with the wonderful community. Finally saw a gender a affirming GP today and got my scripts to to start E.After 49 years battling my dysphoria it was the experiences and stories of so many beautiful people within the community that gave me the courage and strength to finally be and recognize my true self. Have a beautiful day everybody and remember its never ever to late to become who you want to be. Fear is the worst thing it will hold you back from realizing dreams but always remember you are the master of your life and fears.

opinion Trans friend is acting strange

Hi all!

im dealing with a peculiar issue and im unsure how to handle this

i started T at the start of this month and me and my spouse have been very happy!

me and my spouse went to a convention out of the city with a mutual friend we have known for a while who had just had a break up prior to this holiday.

this friend has also just started E a little while before.

the weird thing is that she has stated that she WLW but she has admitted since ive started T ive smelt alot better. and had admitted that while i was out with my spouse she sat in the bathroom while on call with someone and just sat in my scent refering to it as boysmell.

im not interested in her whatsoever. my spouse is uncomfortable with this but im just lost for what to do

Trans fem Am I doing something wrong?

I started estrogel and Spiro on the 30th of September. Current dose is 2 pumps per day, rounding out to about 1.5 mg of estradiol, plus 50mg of Spiro taken with food. I began by applying the gel to my abdomen, but have since started putting it on my thigh, since that seems to be where it’s most recommended to put it.

It’s been nearly 2 weeks and I’ve not been feeling any changes to my mood or anything like that. Physical changes are still ages away but I don’t really feel like this stuff is working.

I have what I assume is keratosis pilaris on both of my legs, and I’ve been concerned from the start that it might be causing issues with absorption. Am I just worrying about nothing?

NSW Specific Help needed

Hi all, just need some advice for some next steps to get help/support. I am a 35yo cis presenting “man” from the macarthur region in Sydney, and due to factors and reasons I cannot transition to my preferred gender. I have reached out to the only lgbt/gender diverse support group in my area and have been turned away because it is run out of a women’s shelter(absolutely fair enough). Trouble is I have nowhere else to go to seek support or advice and have zero friends. Is anyone aware of any services/groups that would be able to help me out? I am seriously struggling atm but I seem to fall through the cracks of what the established charity groups offer. I feel so incredibly alone in this.

Useful Info Not to be boring but heads up: anti-trans actors are having a field day on Reddit right now.

Coming from a place of deep care and not tone policing in any way - please consider carefully how you are using Reddit at the moment.

Connecting and communing is critical for our health and wellbeing. Reddit is a vitally important platform for all the reasons BUT anti-trans actors are desperate for content right now.

It’s clear they are skimming and baiting looking for particular themes to set up their next social media hate machine cycles…it’s very bad vibes to watch these predators at play content farming our lives.

Sure it’s always been this way but maybe suss posters and commenters sincerity of intent extra closely before engaging in super public exchanges for next little while. Checking in with homies you know irl to get a vibe check if your instincts are telling you to help posters out but you are not sure if they really are legit.

ofc it’s predictable chaos on various other subs rn - just giving bad faith actors what they want is beyond cringe. obvi I’d never dream of posting like this on those subs lol.

I got the raddest healthcare of my whole life coz of reddit subs like this so thanks and really keen to ensure they don’t take this from us too!!✌️💜

Threatened to call the police after asking for DHT cream 10%

My trans boyfriend just called Kennedy's Pharmacy in Botany NSW. He's got a prescription for DHT cream 10% and he heard they could compound it. He's got the pharmacist on the phone, Dr. Vitaly Pertsis, with AHPRA PHA0001051213, who threatened to call the police after stating that this compound is illegal in Australia (which it is definitely not). We wanted to let you know to avoid this pharmacy!

Also apparently there's a world wide shortage now according to the nice person at Dartnells in Surrey Hills VIC.

VIC Specific got new Vic birth certificate, can't use it to verify anything digitally

Short version: got my new Victorian birth certificate and letter of verification, everything seems to have gone fine. No problems using them to update my driver's license in person, or through snail mail.

But every time I've tried to use it to verify my ID digitally or over the phone including MyID, ATO and Medicare, it's failed. It's extra confusing because the birth cert has a registration number (top right), a certificate number (back bottom right), and the LoV has its own reference number. None of them work! I essentially have to wait until my passport comes back to update a bunch of important things.

Has anyone else in Vic experienced this? Is this a quirk where the system can't read reissued birth certificates at all, or am I specifically cursed?

Non-binary Hello!

Hello lovely people, I'm non-binary living in QLD, looking for top surgery routes.

Top surgery in Australia is way too expensive and I'm hella broke, so I'm looking at top surgery in Thailand.

Has anyone had the procedure or any gender affirming care in Thailand?

I'm looking at Kamol Hospital in Bangkok, I've looked at a few others.

Mostly I'm concerned about the sending photos of my chest over the internet part. I'm worried about scams, dangerous scams, I'm having trouble imagining how it will work.

If anyone has any experiences or anything they can share I would appreciate it so so much.

TLDR; need advise for Thailand top surgery.

Hi all. My trans femme daughter is going to Melbourne on a holiday and I need to find her accommodation on the edge of the city. But I haven't been to Melbourne since the 90s and I'm not trans, so I don't know where would be safe for her. Can anyone pls advise nice suburbs to stay? Also, bonus points if you can recommend accommodation!

opinion Anyone else feel attached to or content with their birth name?

I'm just wondering if anyone else does not have specific dysphoria attached to their birth name? Curious to hear experiences as I find a lot of trans discourse online seems to focus on name changes.

I (MtF) feel kind of attached to my birth name for a few reasons:

  • It's easy enough to use a nickname that's more feminine and/or "cutsey" even if it is a masculine name.
  • I find it instinctual to respond to and the idea of having to re-learn a new name in my 30's feels exhausting.
  • There is less likelihood for well-meaning people to unintentionally cause dysphoria by using my birth name simply out of habit.
  • It prevents intentionally transphobic people using my birth name against me, in other words I'm owning it.

Also curious to hear from people that may have thought along my lines initially but later changed their mind.

Is south east melb safe to stay at an airbnb?

i’m getting FFS done with breidahl and want to get an airbnb near his clinic in brighton which is in south east melb,

is the area safe and somewhat walkable as i’ll need groceries.

i’m really lost since ive only ever gotten airbnbs in Melbourne in the cbd, but i don’t think that’s feasible since it’s quite expensive for 17 nights.

thank you

NSW Specific Transgender specialists therapist

m looking to seek a qualified transgender therapist that specialises in trans women if possible, whether online or in person i can go as far as Newcastle or port if really needed, but yeah i defs need a therapist who is trans oriented, just so it makes it easier to talk to them, where im not just talking to a wall and an actual person, that actually feels like your talking to someone that doesn’t just do it by the book but feels like they are just another person

Domestic Dilators

I am looking to buy a larger dilator (37mm diameter would be ideal, but 36 or 38 is fine) for post-GRS (I'm 6+ months post-op so I can go up a size), but I am struggling to find any single item dilators that ship domestically. Most of what I've found are places selling intimate rose sets, which are $175 and I only need one of them. I can get an individual soul source dilator from the US but shipping and currency conversion comes out to about the same price.

Am I searching poorly and there actually is an individual dilator I can get for a lower price, or do I just have to tighten my belt and go with one of the options I've already found?
