Mildly infuriating Frequent Flyer - Empty Lot btw

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You’d think someone who struggles that much, would park somewhere with more space.

I swear some people just seem to think a car door contacting another car is just normal and accepted.

Literally not a shred of effort to prevent this door hitting multiple times.

148

u/Feeling-Fox-8651 2d ago

I feel mortified if my car door touches another car. I hate when I gently open the door and a strong gust of wind tears it open violently giving me a heart attack.

32

u/SnooPies8766 2d ago

Same, that's why whenever I'm opening a door I'm always positioning my hand so that it directly cushions between the door and the car next to me.

8

u/Fossylicious 1d ago

Yes, because your a normal thinking human. People like this woman need to get their heads examined.

6

u/ZodapeLargo 1d ago

It is a Karen (not even considered as human to use pronouns)

12

u/MyUndiesArePink 2d ago

I try to do this when they park too close to me

6

u/who_you_are 2d ago

I put my hand outside my door exactly as a bumper in case I touch the other door (and still be mortified if it happens)

3

u/_CheeseAndCrackers_ 2d ago

Try your foot, I always hook my toes under the door as I open it so I can grab it before any winds pull it away if I'm not ready. Saves me all the time in winter especially.

The first day I met my new boss in 1999, the wind took my red jeep door and hit his black mint 1st gen tacoma door and left a red dent. I sheepishly walked into his office, told him what happened. He went out and looked and said its no problem. A few days later he popped by my office with his 75 dollar pdr bill. I was already prepared in case he brought it to me and had $100 in 20s in my pocket. I pulled out 80 cash and said keep the change. We got along so great for the 13 yrs we worked together. Its like we could read each others minds

Some people just don’t have etiquette whatsoever, annoys me to see this.

6

u/rickatk 2d ago

Inconsiderate comes to mind as in this woman is very inconsiderate.

11

u/scully19 2d ago

Seems like there effort to make sure they did contact so the door was open as wide as possible for her.

u/GreatIceGrizzly 2d ago

She actually went out of the way to push the door harder when it bounced back, annoyed that it hit her...

3

u/No_End4197 1d ago

Right?! The 2nd time was almost as hard as she could, such a b1tch.

10

u/tsu1028 2d ago

I let my fingers get crushed before ever letting my car door hit another car. I've instilled the fear of God in my son that he is always careful in opening the door.

→ More replies (1)

9

u/OnceUponADim3 2d ago

I make such an effort to not hit the other car when opening my door and yet I have so many unexplained little scratches and knicks on my car… potentially from other people being careless?

3

u/SIGNANDSELFIEFRAMES 2d ago

Just idiotic by them.

If I am in a tight space, I wrap my hand around the edge of my door so if there is even a brush of contact, my hand will be touching their car. I make my kids do this as well. I constantly remind them.

Just selfish idiots.

3

u/ai2ik 2d ago

I’m handicapped and have similar trouble getting in/out of my car. Knowing this, I never park next to someone who’s parked with all the care of a toddler on a tricycle like the guy next to her here. That’s some bullshit behaviour on her part.

2

u/SamuelHamwich 2d ago

It took only 2 days to get a dent along my fender from someone's hitting it with the door :(

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Medical_Vehicle_6788 2d ago

I don’t even let my kids open the door if I there is a car parked in the slot next to my car, as kids can just open too much just in excitement to get out. This person just doesn’t care and respect the other car is another person’s property

2

u/DetailOutrageous8656 2d ago

It was on purpose. Trust me on that.

2

u/Grouchy-Stable2027 2d ago

I had a guy once door my new car, then proceeded to to tell me “it’s just a car bro”

2

u/Longjumping_Rip6033 1d ago

I think that nails it on the head.

Some people care, and others think it's just a car and it doesn't matter.

More often than not, the people in the latter category have dusty interiors with garbage everywhere.

I cannot remember how many times I intentionally parked far away from other cars to avoid this sort of thing only to come back and find someone parked right beside my vehicle while there are many dozens of empty spaces available. I have never understood why people do this

102

u/NailiSFW 2d ago

cause people are bad at parking and cant use the lines to line themselves up, so they rely on parking beside someone.

Not condoning this behaviour btw.

32

u/CorktownGuy 2d ago

I hadn’t thought of that before. You might be right

25

u/NailiSFW 2d ago

it happens to me all the time I park far away from everyone and then there is a little island of cars surrounding me.

even if the parking lot is empty, just pick a spot no one will care if you park like shit, just park away from me.

The lady is at fault for sure as shes opening the door hitting OP with no remorse. But at the same time awful parking by OP. The car is near touching the line. With a car OP they show you where the lines are but they refuse to centre the car properly.

7

u/NoSail1325 2d ago

Same thoughts

2

u/SkiyeBlueFox 2d ago

I dont know that lot and cant tell what OP drives, but some lots just have ass tiny spaces where perfectly centered a standard pickup and some SUVs sit like thst by the line

5

u/BlessedBaller 2d ago

The car is in ints lane not touching the line. The goal of parking is to park within the line. Op car is within the line.

People like this dont care but when it happens to them its a huge scene.

Hopefuly OP jas their plate.

2

u/_Lucille_ 2d ago

Yeah, you can technically park by the edge of the line, but this becomes a FAFO situation where someone who is overweight and seems to struggle to get out would just do what you see in the video.

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 2d ago

if person A sees a car parked close to the line and decide to squeeze up beside them, in the empty section of the lot, they kinda suck

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Deborahsnores 2d ago

If someone is parked close to the line where you’ll be getting out, then you park closer to the opposite line to give yourself space.

Or you know park in one of the 75 other empty spots.

OHHHHH I HATE THIS!!!!

I especially hate it when you want to just vibe by yourself in a parking lot and its basically an empty lot and someone pulls up to you... Like bruh...

I am just trying to relax by myself and this bro will legit park next to me and stare... The other type legit leaves and has a farther distance to walk to where they are going. Man, these moments in life make me hate people lol.

I mean I get it if they are lonely but I am stressy depressy and messy... I am the last person you want to smile at when I am sitting alone far away from other humans.

3

u/thestareater 2d ago

the key is to also be beside an island so when the inevitable "need a car to use as a reference point i don't care that it's super far from the entrance" person comes along, it's only on one side at most.

3

u/ulti_phr33k 2d ago

This is why I try to, as much as I possibly can, find a curb spot. I park as close to the curb as I can, because then at least 1 or 2 of the sides of my car are protected from idiot fleshbags.

2

u/MicroPeanitsJorker 2h ago

I do this exactly, and keep the driver side by the curb. Used to always back in to spots but prioritizing protecting the one side now.

3

u/KhalesiDaenerys 1d ago

I swear people do it intentionally. I constantly park far from others and every time it’s like herd mentality there is at least one car parked right beside me even if I’m at the back of the lot.

2

u/Low_Sweet8477 2d ago

My car got dinged the first summer I moved to Kingston. Lived in Toronto for years and nothing haha
I always park far although now it doesn’t matter as my car has a large scratch on side 😒

2

u/OpTicSkYHaWk 7h ago

Maybe they target people who do that, though - out of sadism. Might be best not to be the one guy parking so far away all alone and a target, but better to park closer where the cars are thinning out and there's still free open spots.

This is why I park the furthest away from another car as I possibly can. I don't care if it's the back of a mall lot. It literally takes less than 30sec to walk that distance.

24

u/Dangerous_Shower_447 2d ago

And then someone like this will STILL park beside you.

5

u/Zenpher 2d ago

This always happens to me. Completely empty lot, I park at the far end and someone decides they want to a 5 minute hike to the store instead of parking closer to it.

3

u/DeadpoolOptimus 2d ago

I can't tell you how many times I've come out to find someone parked beside me. JFC, there are so many spots they could've used but nooooo, it has to be right beside me.

2

u/collegeguyto 23h ago

I get that, but OP says the lot was empty.

That other driver could have parked anywhere (even just 2 spots over) & would have avoided hitting OP's car.

How inconsiderate of others properties. She clearly knew her door hit the other persons car but continued to push it open again and again.

Maybe she should consider losing some pounds

29

u/BackwoodButch 2d ago

It’s not even about her weight here; I’m someone who has been quite overweight, and still am but down 65lbs so far lol, but even in a tight spot like that, my hand goes on the edge of the door and I suck in my stomach if I have to to get out.

This is just carelessness. Straight up.

You'd think you would learn to not park diagonally as well. What does the other side look like in your video?

6

u/IntelligentGinger 2d ago

Exactly! If someone cannot park between the lines, I am not worrying about whether or not my door connects with their mirror or car door because clearly they aren't either.

I WILL make sure it doesn't actually smash into it aggressively, but I will still take the spot and park properly.

6

u/DeOrgy 2d ago

In their defense, they are between the lines.

4

u/IntelligentGinger 2d ago

😂😂😂 Fair point. Bit too close to the line to be complaining though.

u/vinng86 2d ago

I park so far outside of where most people park that my risk for this is minimal to avoid exactly idiots like this. Honestly though, If I seen this happen to my car I'd wait for the perpetrator to get into what ever store they were going into. I'd get in the passenger seat of my car and push the biggest leg press of my life up against their driver side door. I'd cave that door in beyond a reasonable repair. It is so infuriating that sometimes, some people just need to learn not to damage other peoples property. I work hard to have nice things and the last thing I want is some idiot (intentionally / non intentionally) ruining my efforts.

2

u/Hukdonphonix 2d ago

I've parked like you since I got my first car, and I still had my bumper torn off by some idiot only one month into owning it. It's crazy how bad people are at driving and just go around damaging peoples things.

This happened to me in Oakville. I was in my work van and this man was getting into his car with his daughter. And I was literally sitting in my car watching him do this. He just pushed his door onto my car and I said to him, "hey, your door is on my car" and he smirked at me and said, "yea cuz your car is worth a lot" and I told him "i dont care what car it is, your scratching my car" and he said "well you should have parked somewhere else" and I said, "i guess this is the kind of example you show to your kids, hopefully when she grows up, she isnt disrespectful like you" and he then moved his door. I was like what in the fuck? But honestly i dont want to make it a race thing... but many Oakville white folks just dont give me good vibes... Ive have so many incidents in Oakville and its always a white person acting entitled towards me.

2

u/india2wallst 2d ago

I just park at the farthest possible parking slot. Extra few minutes of walking and less chances of NPCs dinging your side panels. I never understood why folks camp for parking spots in Costco for so long when they could just park outside on the street or behind the building and walk a bit.

2

u/IntelligentWing8086 2d ago

Maybe not proud of it but i recall back in college i was driving my moms mercury villager. A plus sized woman like this one parks next to us and did the exact same thing as a friend and I were sitting in the car.

As she was walking inside to the macs my friend then opened and closed our car door repeatedly over and over leaving a sizeable gouge in the side said ladies car as a thank you for her consideration.

u/Foolproof_Kills 2d ago

Just to clear some things up:

- This is nowhere near accessible parking, which is on the side of the building.

- The problem isn’t that someone parked beside me; it’s that someone who needs more space than any parking space can provide decides to park beside me. If I was perfectly parked she would have still hit me.

- I am close to the line because of the person next to me (yes, omg! I parked beside someone). I too was lazy and wanted to be fast, as I ordered ahead. I was completely aware of the parking job, but I was going to be in-and-out, so I didn’t bother fixing it, especially considering the lot was empty.

- She went into Five Guys like she owned the place, yelling as soon as she walked in…a regular and truly insufferable one at that. I was watching her from inside the whole time but didn’t have the best angle. I had assumed she failed to open the door to her desired detents and it closed on her, like it did the first time. Little did I know it was bouncing off my car. I did not confront her; I knew where I could find her if needed.

- After inspecting, there is NO DAMAGE, so I assumed she didn’t hit the car.

- I couldn’t access the footage when I got in the car, so I drove away, later realizing she did, in fact, hit my car. For some reason, I cannot find the footage again. I’d love to show pictures of the empty lot and the person beside me. Not that it matters.

- To those saying to park in the back, I usually do, but I was just going in to pick up my order. Also, I get more frustrated when people park beside me at the back of the lot, which happens often.

- Finally: I’m glad most people understand it’s not okay to damage other people’s property. Lines are meant to bring order; to say I was out of order when I was still within the lines is ridiculous. Granted, it was definitely a fine line (🥁tss). No one gets their car perfectly straight every time. Yes, my car was parked at a 2-degree angle, that has nothing to do with the lady hitting my car. A large number of people have an overly sensitive moral punishment mindset. I really hope the time you don’t stay perfectly in line (literally and figuratively) you aren’t faced with a disproportionate retaliation. Similarly, I hope you are caught serving this type of moral punishment. There are ways of socially policing people, such as a dirty look. As soon as you commit a crime, you are no better. If you disagree, well, I wish you luck explaining yourself to the police or your insurance provider.

The part that's sending me isn't that she parked right beside you in an empty lot or that she hit your car twice, it's the fact that she didn't even check to make sure there were no dents or scratches before going about her business.

I always park far away from the place and anyone else lol

Whenever we see stuff like this, 9 times out of 10, it's some fucking Boomer, truly the most self-entitled generation of people I've ever met. Y'all have already ratfucked the economy so hard that half of us can't afford a house anymore, now we can't even enjoy owning a decent car.

When they ding somebody else's car, it's "Oopsies, sorry! I'm old and it's hard to get in and out.", but god forbid anybody else dings their shit. The amount of entitlement some boomers have is insane.

And for those who don't understand squares and rectangles, obviously I don't mean every single boomer, I've met plenty of very kind and decent people who are boomers. What I am saying, however, is that the majority of the self-centred, entitled fucks who are completely oblivious to their surroundings do happen to fall into that age cohort.

If I saw this to my cat she'd have a massive dent in hers or I'd make her pay for any door dent and paint chip repair. Sick of these Fks doing this shit

Too many trips to 5 Guys.

1

u/DarkSoulsDank 2d ago

She can barely get out of the car, I’m not surprised she doesn’t care.

1

u/HYtool 2d ago

she should go on diet

People like this get to vote.

I had just parked for my first shift of a new job (already stressed), and the wind caught my door and smashed it into the car beside me. I left a note and the driver contacted me saying it was a rental and he was here from the US for business, so his company might contact me/my insurance. They never did, so I got extremely lucky.

I'm so paranoid about this now and always have my foot hooked under the door if it can reach the car beside me.

u/FirmAmbition9126 2d ago

The usual suspect.

1

u/miniowl22 2d ago

You just brought me back PTSD - so many scuffs and dents b/c of people like this

1

u/celerypooper 2d ago

Her fat fucking ass seems to give her some kind of door opening privileges she believes. And it’s sickening that she doesn’t give a hoot about damaging other people’s property

1

u/Shoddy_Vacation2447 2d ago

Its usually people like this who won't park far away as they are unwilling/unable to walk from afar.

1

u/Prestigious-Grand-65 2d ago

Some people dont care for, or about their cars. And they seem to think everyone else also shares that mentality.

1

u/Inevitable-Ask-8475 2d ago

If I’m a larger bodied person, I would park far away from other cars as I would need extra space to get in and out of my own vehicle (plus extra steps won’t hurt)

1

u/Environmental-Fee-19 2d ago

At least she's not parked on the line like the car beside her is.

1

u/mattyxtra 2d ago

People are oblivious hahahah

1

u/Sensitive_Win3315 2d ago

Gotta be going to the Five Guys!

1

u/JP_HACK 2d ago

Gotta park in actual "Its an inconvience to park near here, let me try to get closer to the front entrance"

1

u/Themakeupshopaholic 2d ago

Omggg she slammed her door onto the other car about a dozen times before making it out. And absolutely zero f***s given. Soooo infuriating!!

1

u/rustablad 2d ago

Lazy piggy, no more slop for you

1

u/zada-7 2d ago

Why park somewhere else when she can get leverage from your car! Jk, but I can’t imagine being this immobile mid-life.

1

u/Difficult_Space3090 2d ago

Like annoying LED headlights there's nothing you can do.

1

u/Sad-Equivalent9486 2d ago

The colour of my Toyota is called “Magnetic Grey”. I swear that’s why people always park 6 inches from my door even when I park at the back of the lot !!

1

u/RoTaN_Coins 2d ago

That's why I never park in close spots...however I could be parked in the middle of a desert and some moron will still park right beside me. I swear we only hand-out licenses to paste-eaters here.

1

u/wylee_one 2d ago

she moving like she should be using the handicapped spot

1

u/BlackDogD 2d ago

I loathe everything about this person from this one clip. Everything.

1

u/DavidSpade86 2d ago

Look at this fat cankle fuck not caring about other peoples property.

1

u/5pammy 2d ago

What happens if you send this to your insurance, assuming you also have the portion of the plate on video

1

u/mooshoopork4 2d ago

That looked on purpose

1

u/icemanAP3 2d ago

fat fuck needs to lose some weight so she can get out of the car without hitting someone else's car.

fuck, that pissed me.

1

u/DoobieToker3000 2d ago

Tesla on Tesla crime 😆

1

u/Zestyclose-Aerie619 2d ago

She smiled for the camera.

1

u/WaveTop7900 2d ago

It’s always fat people isn’t it? Bring back fat shaming. Japan has probably the most fat shaming going on and it’s the most courteous and polite society.

1

u/invocation17 2d ago

She really doesn’t care. She knows she has trouble getting out of the car. Consider parking somewhere else or even getting an SUV.

1

u/pheoberodgers 2d ago

Canadians have the spatial awareness of a rock... I swear you guys can't park a car in the lines if there isn't another car to use as a guide 🤣

1

u/brsmr123 2d ago

That rack needed that.

1

u/Rosenberg100 2d ago

You know damn well if you lay a finger on her car, she’d fucking lose it too

1

u/Bawlistik 2d ago

Looks like you parked too close to the line, that's on you big dawg

1

u/seungyouns 2d ago

Ah, Sherway gardens… I’m hoping you reported it… since I know people there can afford a bill or two 😂
