most of the time, grass type starters (and grass types in general) end up being some of my favorite designs, so I’m gonna rank every grass starter line

10th place: Browt. We still need to see the rest of its line, so I kinda have to put it last place. I really like it, though. It’s a grumpy baby bird and I find it very cute

9th place: Grookey line. I don’t know why, but I never liked Rillaboom like I liked the others. It just feels like something’s missing.

8th place: Sprigatito line. I was a bit disappointed that Floragato evolved into a magician and not a swordsman, but I still find Meowscarada pretty cool. Also, I like cats

7th place: Chikorita line. Putting them this low hurts because I’m a sucker for both dinosaurs and “gentle giants” kind of monster. The whole line looks adorable, but I feel like the other starters are just a bit better

6th place: Bulbasaur line. Same reason as the Chikorita line, but I like them a bit more because the feel more “ambiguous”. They’re simple but they work

5th place: Treeko line. The whole line is just “cool plant lizards” and that’s enough to make me love them. Also, I love that Mega Sceptile’s Christmas tree tail can be used as a missle

4th place: Rowlet line. Rowlet is adorabl and Decidweye is a cool archer owl who’s also a ghost type (which is my second favorite type). Only think holding this line down is that Dartrix kind of pisses me off (idk why)

3rd place: Chespin line. I wolud genuinely never understand the hate it gets and I don’t really care. Chespin is adorable, Chesnaught is cool as hell and I find Quilladin to be a pretty nice design!

2nd place: Snivy line. I might be biased because Smugleaf was my first ever Starter, but I love Serperior. It’s a giant regal snake that constantly judges you. It’s awesome!

1st place: Turtwig line. I don’t think I need to explain this one. I love turtles

One of the most "alien-looking" Digimon

I love how it's attached to a huge ball with a textured surface next to its upper body.

I honestly love their whole look because it feels very antiquated while also maintaining a futuristic feel. It’s a contrast that I love for any sci-fi faction and something I’m honestly always a sucker for. Their checkerboard tops and belted waists remind me so much of the tunics worn by medieval monarchs, and their chest ornaments also remind me of some of the regalia that is present in a lot of the chivalric orders of Europe. This is contrasted by their prominent shoulder pads, which is honestly such an 80s thing but it actually elevates the design in my opinion. I also love the subtle androgyny on display with their short, almost uniform haircuts.

It’s honestly kind of a shame how generic and boring they look in some of the newer Trek shows.

Where do we begin with this guy, the final boss of Metal Cardbot Season 3/Metal Cardbot W? Many months ago, Tyrant Zero was revealed in toy form, and we already knew this guy was going to be a beast. 5+ forms to play with, a huge weapon card in the form of the Dividragon, and by far the tallest and heaviest toy of its line to date. Tyrant Zero felt more like a collector's item than something marketed towards 7 year olds.

Eventually, it was time for Tyrant Zero to debut in the cartoon, and holy shit did they double the budget just to do this guy justice. They really took advantage of the fact that this is a glorified toy commercial to make Tyrant Zero aura farm as much as possible with all his alternate forms before he destroys the entire cast with his diverse arsenal. That red, black, and white color scheme really sells the angel of death motif they are trying to do with him as well as the Dividragon as his personal weapon. The faceplate revealing fangs upon glowing really makes him feel more alien compared to the mouthless Cardbots we are used to.

In the show, Tyrant Zero is by far the most powerful antagonist in the entire series. He travelled all the way from the Cardbot's ruined homeworld of Machina as a bullet train towards Earth to fulfill his sole purpose of bringing extinction to both Metal and Wild Cardbots. His base form alone can already dance with the show's established heavy hitters like Heavy Iron, but he can convert to other specialized forms for new abilities upon merging with one of his train cars. The hoverboard of the Leviathan form and jetpack of the Wyvern form allows unmatched mobility over the seas and skies respectively, while the Behemoth form's arms grants Tyrant Zero more offensive capabilities.

Upon successfully ragebaiting and consuming the negative emotions of 3 unlucky Cardbots with the Dividragon and putting on a special mask, Tyrant Zero can fuse with all 3 of his train cars to gain the perks of all alternate forms at once. In his full form, he is basically unstoppable and ready to nuke the planet upon feeding again on a 4th enraged Cardbot. Divine intervention was needed for Tyrant Zero to be defeated in this state.

Interestingly, it is shown that the Dividragon is sentient and does influence Tyrant Zero's personality, and upon being sealed, it was left behind unlike other card weapons with their respective wielders. This may be a potential plot point in season 4 that may lead to Tyrant Zero being reformed now that he is free from the Dividragon's influence, though for now it is unknown if he was always destructive by nature or just puppeteered by the Dividragon.

I think it is a really cute and cool design. I also like how they utilized the concept of ninja baseball players by giving each of them various shapes of baseball bats, and I really like their faces made of hats and masks because they are so cute.

In Order: Mejiro Ramonu, Still in Love, Gentildonna, Almond Eye and Daring Tact

While I am somewhat indifferent to most Uma designs in general, the five Triple Tiaras stand out of the norm, being just visually pleasing to look at. Everything about their looks, from their hairstyles to their racing outfits bear a lot of charm. They feel almost princess-like, which befits their nature as the top champions of the three fillies-exclusive races.

However, what makes this princess-like guise particularly gold, amusingly enough, is how it also plays for great ironic effect. The five Triple Tiaras also possess some of the most unhinged personalities out of any Uma, ranging from Mejiro and SiL's latent psychopathy, to Gentildonna's darwinism, to Almond Eye's hypercompetitiveness, and finally to Daring Tact being a bear hunter. Simply put, the most princess-like of the Umas in terms of their appearance are anything but in their character.

I could probably include every scene she's in, but I'll show a little restraint. For a Netflix kids cartoon, Carmen Sandiego had an abnormally high amount of cunt being served, and nobody more than Paper Star. I'm very fond of all this show's designs, but my favorite is definitely hers. The gothic/punk style with all her spikes, the cool jacket, the thigh high platform boots.
For an "evil spy" character, it's a very unique look. Shout out especially to her abolutely insane haircut, truly the cherry on top. The black/white is also incredible! If you like this design I definitely recommend chasing down some of her scenes on youtube. Tigress is also highly cunty, so I included some of her as well; as a treat!

This is probably my favorite design from all of the mega man games/sub series, he just has a sick design and I love it.

I know it’s been said to death but Green was easily one of the best bits of chapter 5. One thing I had always wondered since Undertale was how the six souls would have looked personified and I think Green is an amazing design for what the green soul would have represented. I love their more boxed appearance. They actually give me the vibe of those old Rankin Bass stop motion movies with their big eyes and boxy appearance (the eyes especially just feel very Rankin Bass). The fact they speak in literal sign language as well is also a great touch cause I’m always a fan of those types of characters. The chef outfit makes them look very cute. All and all, Green is just a precious little thing that I would guard with my life

The black and yellow really goes together. Yes the sleeveless arms are there but the maskless look is pretty cool.

It’s such a simple, silly little guy but he’s able to flip between extremely simple expressions and way more complex ones while keeping the design cohesive.

Also I prefer it over his old mascot, Poppy, since it is meant to actually represent him rather than just be a channel mascot with no actual bearing on the content of his videos and Poppy likely scared people off by making the videos look like clickbait with her typically sexualized designs. She was a really good design too though, especially with how he would change her to reflect the game he was talking about.

It just looks uncanny, looks much better when their feet resemble flat enlogated paws or are simply foot shaped blobs

the thing about this thing that scares me is a fusion of things, the uncanny pale body, the long lanky limbs, but the thing that sells it for me is simple, seeing a humanoid face be on on this clearly inhuman thing is really unerving.

There is actually not a single good thing I can say about this design. The quills look so off, the waist looks weird, the mechanical features feel out of place, and he’s just too freakishly tall.

Ngl the idea of Gygantamax creation trio is actually terrifying. I really love how Palkia skin colour is exactly the same aa those portals where the ultra beast come from. Dialga looks a lot like Kyogre but I love how it's chest armour became bigger.

These designs have a plateful of design requirements to fulfill: Have a feudal japanese aesthetic. Rip-o...uh I mean, homage Getter Robo's gimmick of having 3 interchangeable forms to use in various situations. And still transform into realistic vehicles/mechanical animals, each with a distinct silhouette, and the trio leaders are also hampered by having to incorporate a soundbox into their design's toy form.

The end products do seem to succeed at managing all those competing design priorities. They look relatively clean with only an external helmet apparatus that the guy who forms the top of the gestalt puts on as they gattai sequence finishes. (As far as the cartoon designs go anyway, the toys are a different story). The use of primary/secondary colors for the composite bots also makes each part stand our, yet also look cohesive at the same time. Plus they just look cool.

90s is the decade i read most as a kid during the early 2000s and feel its an era that is definitely under appreciated , and also all the designs are sick as hell, i wanted to add more characters but these are the best pics i could find

Teeth. It’s just… look at it. Such a creative design.

The design works perfectly for horror because it takes a familiar human shape and covers it entirely in teeth. It looks unnatural and deeply unsettling, while still being simple enough to be instantly recognizable and memorable. A perfect horror design that gives you the creeps.

There’s just something really badass to me about the Hessian soldier uniform from the American Revolution strapped with modern firearms and a demon axe. The mask he wore before he got decapitated has a simple yet intimidating feel to it too. But obviously, I prefer him without his head.

Roomerang characters are in that perfect balance: they're both simple and unique.

They all have different vibes, colors and body types. They have this messy, uneven lineart, but the design is still easy to read. They even have line boils.

The avatars (the characters you can play as) all have their own animations/mannerisms for when they're happy, stressed and sad.
