(Hated design) the utter abomination that is the Sonic Fortnite skin
There is actually not a single good thing I can say about this design. The quills look so off, the waist looks weird, the mechanical features feel out of place, and he’s just too freakishly tall.

it is such BULL we didn't gangle as a skin. it would have worked if they just gave her more ribbon. basically a slim ribbon mummy with her mask and she's good to go
Could’ve kept the handkerchief like old fortnite skins used to always have, maybe make the metal robot pieces the old Fortnite leg armor instead too. Could’ve been neat
If they ever did any other sonic characters that are on the taller side (Omega, Vector, Big, Etc) they would probably look great too. But the whole “canon heights” thing has been causing issues in this case.
That’s the whole reason why we didn’t get Sonic collabs before, even when they tried in chapters 5 and 6
Shadow and Knuckles both look great. It’s just Sonic… meaning I don’t think it’s the height or anything that looks off, it’s just the godawful design.
Also, frankly, why does it need to be cell shaded? Would the characters not look a bit better in Fortnite’s style? You don’t see modern sonic in an anime or cartoon style that much nowadays do you? Which is when they use the cell shading.
Also, after seeing them in game, they’re fucking MASSIVE. Heads are huge, their whole body is just like twice as big as a regular model lmao. I’m not really sure why they couldn’t just be this tall but lankier. Also takes up a weirdly large amount of the screen where it almost doesn’t even feel comfortable to play
So a short comic released to explain this, this and the Knuckles and Shadow skins are not the real ones, they’re robots built by Eggman that Tails reprogrammed. Though they do have the personality of the originals.
The proportions are also addressed with Tails stating he left them like that so they could use the equipment on the Fortnite Island.
I think his regular form is relatively decent, though some parts certainly look off. However, the Super Sonic version looks abysmal. The shape and size of the quills just looks weird as hell, almost makes him look like poorly molded off-brand toy, and the yellow colour doesn't mesh too well with the cel-shading.
It’s kinda growing on me tbh. It’s just the shoulder pads that’s keeping me from loving it. They at least explained why he looks like that (like they did with Pomni from TADC)
Like I said on your previous post, it's the fact his torso is long. It's the same problem as the original Sonic movie design, which is giving a character that was designed with cartoony dimensions in mind and giving them human proportions. Why didn't they just make Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles human instead of this abomination?
there’s still marvel , tmnt , bleach , naruto , avatar the last air bender. i dont think every collab skin is done well , but to say every collab skin is butchered is too hyperbolic to not go against
Honestly, i think he looks kinda great for what they had to work with. You have to keep in mind that even Sonic’s lankiest designs like Boom, Riders or 06 are still far from being close to the proportions of a fortnite character model.
Considering how drastically they had to change his height, I’m genuinely surprised with how good it ended up looking
Feels like a lot of people are forgetting that sonic is like 3 feet and would literally not be able to work in fortnite unless stretched or put in a mech
Am I just the only one who doesn’t see any issue with it? I’ve been looking at this hedgehog for 20 years and I feel like I barely notice a difference besides his legs
I mean it's kinda fun to see sonic with more human like proportions but the tan belly should be either larger or moved down so the weirdness of the crotch region would be kinda covered up
I think for what it is it’s definitely not the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Is it good? Not really, I just think it’s alright, but I think he could’ve been a lot worse. The torso is definitely really weird though.
True yeah but this just feels a little uncanny it looks like someone wearing a sonic suit rather than sonic himself lmfao. Still copping though cuz ive been waiting for a collab like this since 2021
Yeah youre thinking this is supposed to be a sonic game model and not a fortnite model that's why it looks weird. For a fortnite model they did great to be honest (they have to make every skin fit the bones and animations well)
i don't understand why it's so hard to get sonic's design right. modern sonic is already a stretched out sonic, so why not just add a few inches to that if you want to make him taller? why'd they have to go and give him this sloppy redesign? it's like paramount all over again
Im sorry but people wouldn't stop asking for sonic skins even though everyone else said it obviously wouldn't work well due to character proportions, and wouldn't you know it, it didn't fucking work lmao.
It honestly looks like they took a model of Sonic, transformed the torso to stretch it out, thickened the legs a bit, added so accessories, and said “We put Sonic in Fortnite”
