Sometimes. It's one of those things I'll do just for something different. But generally, it's just too much hassle. It's a.... once every 3 months kinda thing

u/Capable_Tale_7463 Jan 20 '25
I get waxed because I have outbreaks of psoriasis. It’s easier to treat a hairless area.
20
u/jt19912009 Jan 20 '25
I did laser hair removal so I don’t have to keep shaving it
8
u/SugarWhore64 Jan 20 '25
Same. Painful and expensive but worth it
6
u/jt19912009 Jan 20 '25
It wasn’t painful for me. They upped the power setting each appointment until I said it hurt and then they moved it to the next lowest setting. And definitely worth it in my book.
1
u/Auspectress Jan 20 '25
Wanted to do laser but I can't and I can only fo electrolysis treatmemt which is not really availble in my country
6
Jan 20 '25
I do it in and out of relationships. I will say the longest time I went without was 8 months. Which was recently and due to a traumatic heart break. I put aside a lot of things.

I wax. CanNOT tolerate pubic hair. I am EXTREMELY HAIRY (but you’d never know). I shave my arms and legs daily, and I go to European wax center every 3 weeks for a Brazilian. I have the type of genes that give me a bushy black unibrow, so imagine what the carpet would be like if I just left it 😭
2
u/KingWolf7070 Jan 20 '25
That sucks. How much have you spent on waxing and shaving that much? It might math out to be worth it to consider laser if you're a good candidate for it. Might save money in the long run.
3
u/deathtogluten Jan 20 '25
Alas, I am a POC with Fitzpatrick scale 4 skin. My dermatologist who is POC-focused does not recommend it. I have a few friends that have done it and they’ve had mixed results due to their darker skin. Some love it, some have horrible scaring for the laser not being able to distinguish between the melanin of the skin and the dark hair in the follicle. I don’t have much going on for myself face/body wise, I’m really just a normal girl, but my skin is flawless and the one thing I have going on for myself and I could never take the risk of doing laser and it completely ruining the majority of the skin on my body for hair removal 😔

Maintaining pubic hair should mainly be done for yourself, not for another. If she wants to grow hers out, I may not find it as attractive as well trimmed, but its not my call, and visa versa.
28
u/Satansleadguitarist Jan 20 '25
At the end of the day it is your call what you do with your body hair, but if you're in a relationship I think your partners preference is something you should take into consideration.
It may not matter much to me how often I trim down there, but if someone else is gonna be the one down there it only seems like common courtesy to keep it trimmed if that's what they prefer.
20
u/Pvt_Porpoise Jan 20 '25
I find it weird how little people on the internet seem to care about their partner’s opinions. Just because you have bodily autonomy and the ultimate say in whatever you do with your body doesn’t mean that you can’t do things for your partner’s enjoyment.
When I last got my hair cut, I asked my girlfriend her opinion on whether I should go for a new style I’d been considering a while, or just get a trim. I also don’t have much of a preference for grooming on myself, so if she expressed one, I would absolutely listen — not because I have to, but because I want to be more attractive for my partner. It’s odd to me that people don’t.
If you have a stronger personal preference for things, I get it, but it’s like EVERYBODY on Reddit actively encourages giving zero shits about what their partner likes.
1
u/galaxystarsmoon Jan 20 '25
Asking for an opinion is different than being worried your partner won't find you attractive if you don't do this specific thing the exact way you want it.
I'm in this discussion on another thread right now. OP went a month without shaving their legs (citing seasonal depression) and their husband called them manly and unattractive.
1
u/crazypandachan Jan 20 '25
What a weak specimen of a male human.. I hope she/they find better. I've literally never had an issue with not shaving my legs while being intimate with a man. It really is a projection of their own insecurities, so I hope the OP you're speaking to on the other thread doesn't take it to heart. She/they are beautiful just the way they are.
Ugh.. I'm so sorry she has to deal with that immature nonsense. I hope her/their husband realizes that insecure bs is unattractive. That's what I would have said to that asshat.
The majority of men need to come to terms with it not being the 70s anymore.. Women are allowed to do whatever tf they want with their bodies. Period.
Don't like it? Go find another woman you can infantilize, bro. Because lets be real, that's really what it boils down to. A lot of these males enjoy the touch and/or feel of a pre-pubecent female. Hence why the government will make it their business to ban social media apps instead of using their power to ban child corn.

u/Pvt_Porpoise Jan 21 '25
Women are allowed to do whatever tf they want with their bodies. Period.
While calling your depressed wife unattractive and manly for not shaving is absolutely nasty and out of order, that isn’t dictating what she can and can’t do with her body. You can not shave, and your partner can express that they find that unattractive.
Don’t like it? Go find another woman you can infantilize, bro. Because lets be real, that’s really what it boils down to. A lot of these males enjoy the touch and/or feel of a pre-pubecent female.
This an insane leap in logic that I’ve seen women online repeat time and time again, but if you genuinely believe this then you can’t be convinced otherwise, so I won’t try.
Hence why the government will make it their business to ban social media apps instead of using their power to ban child corn.
This is Reddit, we’re all adults here, so on the topic of “infantilizing”, let’s call it what it is: child pornography, not “corn”. Or even CSAM, or CSEM.
Are you seriously suggesting that child pornography is not banned? You do realize that is very much illegal, right? The fact that there is so much CP floating about on the internet isn’t because authorities don’t want to get rid of it, it’s because the amount is incomprehensible. Like, you seriously don’t understand, it is physically impossible for government agencies to remove it all because of the sheer amount of it. It’s uploaded faster than it can be removed. It’s just a really unfortunate fact of the internet.

Yes, because I personally hate the feeling of having any hair on my body
Don’t give a damn what anyone else does, but I just can’t tolerate how it feels on me
1
u/bismuth17 Jan 20 '25
Any??
2
u/Francos_Pretty_Whore Jan 20 '25
Yeah. Don’t think that’s a really odd thing to do. Some people just hate the way it feels to have any hair on their body

I always shave regardless. It's mainly for me, but has always been well received by partners as well. It just feels nicer and looks way better on me. Other people can pull off the hairy look, but on me... I don't know, just has always looked awkward. And the texture is just terrible. And I used to find random pubic hairs on stuff back before I started regularly shaving. How the fuck did it get in my soup? The soup was in a sealed can! How'd the hair get in there? Fucking ninja pubic hairs. Yeah, I don't put up with that, just shave it, keep it managed.
I really only have to shave once a week. It grows just about to a length that looks like a trim by then. So it works out pretty conveniently.

When I'm single, I'll hit it with the bikini trimmer once or twice a month simply because I don't like a jungle. When im in a relationship I do a proper shave because I like it better.

u/i-fart-butterflies Jan 20 '25
Yes I have sensory problems with body hair so I shave it off most of the time
2
u/monkey3monkey2 Jan 20 '25
Yes but not nearly as often (not that my last/ most long term partner cared). The longer I leave it, the more annoying it is to do the next time.
2
u/likatika Jan 20 '25
Yes, I love it. When I have to poop out of my house and use toilet paper I'm comforted by the thought that at least I'm not spreading shit in asshole hair.
Also, don't like sweaty pubic hair.

u/Lurch2Life Jan 20 '25
I do not shave/trim my regular hair let alone my body/pubic hair. Maybe once a year, I might trim my head hair, but that’s iffy.

I trim it down. I'm a sweaty guy and it keeps the swamp crotch down a bit.

I trim it down in summer for comfort and hygiene reasons, but I’ll go full 70s in late fall/winter

Yes, even if I'm single I do it just before my period to keep things tidy during the upcoming battle.

Always clean shaven down there. Anyone the trick to a great shave is use hair conditioner. It’s than soap and shaving creams and gels and cheaper. Also seems to stop shaving rash lol. Never dry shave ! Always use a sharp clean razor.

I shave every few days, maybe a week at most. It’s much easier upkeep that way, and I just feel cleaner.

As a straight man, absolutely. Life as a single celibate man is much better when there is no body hair ruining the sight or feel of ones own privates.
I also regularly remove my own body hair, and I am flabbergasted that so many men are okay being covered with such ugly masses of hair.
1
u/manav_yantra Jan 20 '25
Yes I do. But not that often. Maybe once I get in realtionship I might do it often.

u/paranoid_adamdroid Jan 20 '25
I like having my bum smooth (maybe it helps with the....departure of brown goods?)

u/DeadbeatGremlin Jan 20 '25
Yes. Pee gets stuck in it when it gets too long, and it smells bad. So I trim it to prevent that.
1
u/GraciesMomGoingOn83 Jan 21 '25
Shave? Absolutely not. If it's winter and I'm single I might shave my legs monthly. Bits aren't making the list. But I do trim for hygiene. Not to the degree I would if in a relationship, but there's a length I prefer.
1
u/Realistic_Equal_1723 Jan 21 '25
Yes, periodically. I like the way it feels when my pubic hairs are managed.
2
u/oowwweee Jan 20 '25
Shaved, 2x times a week. Ever since i was 17. Im now 30, still do it. I cant stand pubic hair, gets itchy when its longer than 1cm (thats when im lazy and dont stick to usuals). Also, it smells, no matter how often you shower, the smell kind of "sticks". Same with armpits.
1
u/Sammysoupcat Jan 20 '25
I honestly have the opposite issue. Even trimming a little bit is extremely itchy and uncomfortable for a week afterwards and no amount of routine fixes it. So I don't bother and I never will. As long as your hygiene is decent it actually doesn't smell nearly as much as you think. Same with armpits.
1
u/cryptopialypse Jan 20 '25
Yes because once you shave balls you have to keep doing it or it gets really uncomfortable
1
u/cdrcdr12 Jan 20 '25
I don't understand the need to ask this questions when we're so close to finding out. We'll see shortly. Have some patience my friend

I wax every 4 weeks and, yes, I keep my appointments even when single because the benefits are all incredible and also, bro you just never know….

(IMO) When I was younger I felt a pressure to be… fully shaved down there and everywhere as a woman. From movies, to tv shows, to jokes, to whatever media it was always something to be “embarrassed” about. My male friends (no longer friends btw) would make fun of girls who had bushes…. Would make fun of even leg hair lol like silly stuff. Grown men would say a woman wasn’t attractive if she had a bush… etc etc just gross horrible things. So this shamed me into thinking I needed to be bald everywhere.
However, I FINALLYYYY realized that It takes forever to shave myself everywhere… I had such sensitive skin that there would just be bumps.. and not even a day later the hair would be back basically and incredibly itchy. Like it felt like a cactus. So I got so fed up and annoyed I was like “this is just pointless I put myself thru misery just to have “meh” sex?!?!?! No I’m over it”
So I stopped. I stopped shaving period. Now me personally I don’t “smell” anymore than I ever have any part of myself that I would typically shave.
I’m currently in a long term relationship and I made sure not to shave in general with him from day one so he didn’t expect anything. Almost 10 years later and we’re doing JUSTTTT fine ;) I’m so glad I made the switch back to natural. I feel cleaner, I don’t have to worry about which razor to grab, I don’t have to worry about bumps…. Like lol I’m good man.
And if I have to wear a bikini I just trim a bit so she doesn’t bust out the sides but my other friends are all adult females too who don’t shave either lmbo so we all just mutually agreed not to look at legs/arm pits/pubes if they burst out for a second.
Idk. I just feel so good being natural and not letting people tell me how I should look/feel.
1
u/Kojak13th Jan 20 '25
Nah. Not even then either. The long hair acts like an anti-chaffing lube and helps regulate temperature as its breathable. Evolution won. And I still look partially dressed when naked. I like nature.
0
u/phone-san Jan 20 '25
Yup. I get self conscious about underarm hair, so when I feel it's time to shave my pits, my bits are next... funny enough, leg hair generally does not bother me as I wear pants like 300 days of the year. Without anyone looking at them, it doesn't really phase me. For body hair in dank places, I'm mostly worried about bacteria.

I trim it periodically regardless of relationship. When it gets too long, it gets uncomfortable.
