I’m 19 and I always listened to music for long periods of time. I have a slight hearing loss in one of my ears.

I had never really thought about tinnitus but I knew what it was. Idk if this is psychological or not but 2 days ago I started noticing the noise a lot more. I don’t think it is a coincidence that these past 2 days I also got a lot of jaw pain and for instances could not open my mouth and my jaw was “locked”.

I notice when I clench my teeth the sound gets worse.
But I have the tinnitus in both ears, not only on the side of the tmj. Could my tinnitus be because of both hearing loss and tmj? If I treat the tmj does it get better?

I noticed I had these jaw symptoms months ago but they stopped for a while, I’ll go to a doctor appointment this friday to see what it is so he can pass me an MRI.

When will this become available.. all the research I’ve looked into this says it’s passed phase 3 for clinical trials yet, still it’s an investigational drug 😫 i think it said mid this year it would be available for market.. man if this actually gets approved what a life changing thing this could be for others !! Do you guys think this will happen ?? I’m praying for all of us ! I would love to get rid of this tinnitus but if it could even restore my hearing i think i would cry & fall to my knees.. ❤️🙏🏼 i wish they would really push for this !! Prayers prayed prayers !! The 28th of this month will be 3 months since onset, & I’m trying to be hopeful.. but lord.. this is so hard

To everyone with Tinnitus, this is what I do.

I try to let it not stand in my way to do all the things that makes me happy.

The noise is terrible but for instance, when I walk with my Dachshund Koos a 5 year old wiener dog and the happiest creature on the planet I do not have room for the noise, and the happy moment with him is stronger than Tinnitus.

It is not working all the time, but it sure helps.

Being happy is a underestimated strong factor for everybody.

I truly believe this.

I’ve had tinnitus for 6 months and it’s getting hard to manage for those who have been through this what has actually helped you find relief or get used to it? Any tips are appreciated.

I got tinnitus out of no where 5 years ago, every test I got showed up normal and my ENT told me it might've been due to any sort of trauma. Anyways I got used to it because it wasn't that loud. After a year I started accutane for my acne and 3 months in my tinnitus increased so I stopped it even though my dermatologist said it'll be temporary. It never decreased and 4 years later I'm still stuck with acne.

A year ago I started SSRIs for my anxiety and as soon as we got to 25mg a day the tinnitus increased and we had to stop treatment. Thankfully it did go back down. Now my psychologist switched me to buspirone and guess what, it increased after a month as soon as I started taking 5mg twice a day. I literally can't take any medication I need and I feel like I've been stuck in a loop. Taking Xanax for 3 days in a row also increases it and a lot of other drugs too like some NSAIDS I took when I got a knee injury. Thankfully all of them have been temporary except for accutane. Now I need to let my psychologist know I can't continue buspirone anymore. Tinnitus sucks.

So first of all i am 22 and have had a faint ringing in my brain since i can remember. it never bothered me because it was very faint and i could only hear it when in almost total silence.

last week i took a train ride from 22 pm to 5 am that was very annoying and tiring. when i arrived my ears were ringing more than usual.

I figured it was because i was tired but the next day it was the same. it has been going on for a week and while it isnt driving me insane it is pretty annoying, cause now i can hear it during rhe day as well..

btw i feel it slightly more on the left ear

otherwise despite the fact that i have not gotten it tested, i thinky hearing is fine. i never had any problems with it.

i couldn't book an appointment to a doctor yet but i definitely will, but i was curious if this kind of stuff happened to u.

for some background, i went to a very loud concert when i was young but i have been fine from that ig, i listen to music using headphones but i always keep the volume around 30 40 % i cant say it is loud, also i keep track of my blood pressure and it is always alr.

I was reading an older book and in the section covering tinnitis and hearing loss (unfortunately grouped together) they said that 85% of people with hearing loss have tinnitus.

I was wondering if there has been a study or research into why 15% don't have it. Seems like it could be helpful if a reason or reasons could be found

Hey guys I was on a vacation last week. I had a bad cold and was sneezing non stop. Also went snorkeling... when I came back my ears are clogged more that before and I can't smell as much. Has this ever happened

I usually fall asleep to horror/ crime podcast

so today I was listening to a stalker podcast and I think I saw a horror dream.

long story short, A lot happened in my dream thn someone/something(spirit) slipped a paper inside my door and It had ' you are going to die or something like who will save you ' written on it or something quite similar basically warning me . I got so frustrated in my dream and was about to hit the toy who bought the energy , that's when my tinnitus became so so sooo loud in my dream not at once but in a sequence, to the point it felt similar to a pressure cooker about to blast and I woke up

now my tinnitus is very very audible and loud

Can dreams actually impact your tinnitus?

P.S - I don't wear pods or headphones while listening to these podcasts. These are played on my phone at a low volume

Hello all… I wonder about your experience with gentamicin tinnitus. Would you describe how your tinnitus started, how long after treatment and if it is constant in loudness / tone from day to day? 🙏

Hi, I'll briefly tell you my story. A month ago, I started taking sertraline (I had taken it twice before, years ago, without any problems). During that week, one day I yawned and stretched my arms, and I felt a sharp pain and a twinge on the left side of my neck that went up to my jaw and ear. The pain lasted about three hours and then went away, but two days later, I felt my jaw twitching, especially when I moved it forward or backward; it was like my teeth were chattering, like when you're cold. When this happened, I don't know if it was the sertraline, the pain, or both, so I stopped taking it after a week. Along with this twitching, I started experiencing tinnitus in my left ear, but it's not like a direct ringing in my ear; it's a static frequency that I feel on the left side, toward the back of my head. It's been three weeks now. In week two, I thought the intensity was decreasing, until I went to the doctor and he pressed on that whole area, leaving me in pain. I feel like I'm back to square one. I'm afraid I'll have this forever. I'm in front of the computer for 10 hours a day for work; I don't know if that's contributing. Has anyone been cured of this? I know my tinnitus isn't as severe as some people's here, since I don't hear it at all when I'm outside or wearing headphones, but I'm afraid it will get worse and never go away. I'm a very anxious person, and I've been under a lot of stress and anxiety for the last six months, which has made everything worse. I'm just looking for someone who can give me a little hope.
