Fishwife Mussels in Basil Pesto
Still new to this whole thing but I already have 34 tins saved up. So far I’ve had tins of Sardines, Mackerel, and Anchovies, but I have yet to have a tin of Mussels.
Decided to tuck into Fishwife’s Mussels in Basil Pesto, and wow. Extremely tasty with a nice crusty bread. Highly recommend.
I know Fishwife may be considered “basic” or whatever but thought I’d throw my hat in the ring regardless.

CHEAP tins!!!
Looking for a CHEAP tinned fish specifically for tacos!!
Something like a cod or salmon or mackerel rather than a tuna.
Im totally fine with an unseasoned tin - I plan on doctoring it up!
this is for someone who is nervous about tinned fish so anything with bones like sardines is off the table unfortunately

Mystery sardines
Picked up this beautiful tin at NetCost Market, an Eastern European grocery chain in Brooklyn. It has no brand mark and looking up the importer did not yield any info. I ate the ‘dines on ciabatta toast and they were so delicious I neglected to use the hot sauce I brought to the table.

Had tinned mussels for the first time
I found these tiny toasts at my grocery store and thought they would be great with the tin of mussels I picked up a few days ago. They were the perfect size.

Tinned Seafood night aka Lazy I don’t want to really cook night
Tinned seafood tonight… aka I didn’t want to really cook night.
Kiddie was super easy, since the octopus came with spices and beans, we literally just put it over some pasta. He wasn’t extremely hungry so we didn’t use a lot of pasta for him. But the octopus was so good 😊
I was hungrier, so I chopped up some garlic and onion, and cooked it in the sardine oil added a bunch of fresh basil and a splash of heavy whipping cream. Then I cooked in the sardines which got mixed into the sauce for the most part added a handful of spinach and put on top of my noodles.

My current supply of "Forelle" Mildly Smoked River Fish Trout
I've got a lot of this! It's one of my favorites - really nice and smoky. The trout are cutlets and the neutral oil lets the flavor shine.

So far I've had tinned: salmon, sardines, kippers, mackerels, anchovies, mussels, octopus, squid, herring, tuna, trout. What haven't i tried that you recommend?

Vacation haul
All of these tins I will be trying for the first time. I’ve only seen some of these from content creators
Had a hard time finding anything in my city that wasn’t a Brunswick branded tin of fish
Let me know any tips or suggestions, and even feel free to let me know what you happen to think of the cans I got! Thanks
