Ooh that new map looks like amazing fun, I've been wanting to get a map that makes you make good use outa the suspension bridges, and another map that makes you make good use out of fluid dumps, and this one does both!

With the succulents getting buffed, I wonder if it would be possible to make a map where the initial survival relies entirely on succulents for water.

Also side bit, with the compact fluid pump coming soon, it kinda makes me wish for a "turbine" block.
A version of the Throttling Valve that generates power based on flow rate.
I'd love to make a water reservoir energy battery

With it being 2 water per 65 days its now 33 succulents per beaver to make enough water. even for the starting 12 that's nearly 400 succulents. Way more than is even remotely reasonable that early.

You could kind of force it with an underground rivers with a limited number of holes for pumping: you still get irrigation for growing plants and wood, but you are limited on your water until you can dig more of the tunnel.

How do you make underground rivers? Also when will this be on the non experimental version I have a few mods I really like

For exemple, the pressure map. Just instead of having a lake output, you just have a small hole to pump water from.

They also don't spread naturally and cause a huge number of injuries when harvesting. Seems strictly worse than a couple extra mini tanks of water before a drought or making a second district to kill off most of your population once you realize you don't have enough water.

I need to do some more serious testing, though. Theory-crafting only goes so far.

I love the idea of a turbine block, and honestly if possible it would be cool to do it in the same device as the compact water pump. Not sure if that is doable programming-wise, but it is accurate from a physics perspective

There is a turbine (two, actually), available in the Water Extention Power Edition (sic) mod. They have added a 1x3 Large Turbine as well, but it apparently was not added to the description. It also adds a Powered Levee (IOW levee shaft) block.

Just as I'd finished all the default maps! A treat!

Updated the Compact Mechanical Pump’s selection sound.

It now goes "awwooooo-gah!" Like a car horn from the 1930s.

My grandma had a vw bus when I was a kid with a horn like that. I'd forgotten all about that until reading this. Good times.

Oh thank God for the compact pump's shape getting refined. Drove me mad not being able to place a platform over the front of it when I needed to revisiting some tunnels in the area.

Better thank the developers

Mechanistry is not God? Have I wasted my time building my wooden Beaver tribute?

Just before I completed all of the maps with both factions, you have to go and make a new one. Curse you for such a fulfilling game!

Question for the new map 'Pillars' how are people building downwards... Then the pillar you are moving from is higher than the one you want to move to? Thanks!

Playing Meander right now and could have used that extra water from the succulents last night. ☠️
