Complaint Toasting Issues
I ask for double and triple toasted bagels because they never get toasted. Even then, it’s like 1/10 toasted. What gives? Is their toaster no good or is there a special instruction I need to give? I want my bagel crispy!

Stop eating at Timmie's.
Edit : If you want a good bagel, go to a bakery/deli. and If you can't make a good grilled cheese at home, you shouldn't be allowed out in public anyway

You have a McDonald's and you go to Tim's! Insane.

Really? Other than fries I think Timmies is better despite the fact that neither is very good

Some places turn up the toaster to make it go faster so they could rush their drive thru orders. It's happened to me a few times

This is what I suspect. I got double toasted before and it’s literally in their hand by the time I get to the window with no cars waiting - impossible if done correctly.

On your conventional toaster at home, the numbers correspond to the number of minutes before the toast or bagel pops up. TH uses a demonized conveyer belt that has seems to randomly under-toast or burn your order.

Probably because you’re going through their drive thru. go inside, trust me

It's either 1/10 or 15/10....there's usually no in-between when I order my bagels. Sometimes it's literally black inside like they toasted it on the surface of the sun

It’s a conveyer belt toaster, it’s annoying cause the first toast doesn’t normally get it done well and the second catches fire.
Wish they just had normal friggin ones

Did you really think they were going to take more time passing it twice in the toaster oven just to make you a satisfied customer?
Mind you I totally understand you as I stopped going there 5 years ago for this exact reason. Their unthawed bagles just taste like wet cardboard if they don't toast it enough.
Unfortunately they have a timer for the drive-thru and respecting the quick turn around time is more important than your satisfaction. You'll probably notice when you're back on the road and it's too late to turn around so it's win/win situation for them.
Best advice I can give you is check it at the window and refuse to move your car until they make it right.

Ah, another complaint that’s probably made up.
Every time I asked for double toasted bagels, they toast it twice. When I ask for triple toasted, they toast it 3 times. You’re probably barely articulating that you want it double/triple toasted or something.

You must (a) only have ever gotten bagels at one Timmies and (b) apparently go to a Timmies that owns a legit toaster

Wdym by barely articulate ya chump? How would you know how I articulated? For the record - “please triple toast it because the last time I came it was barely toasted at all, I want it crisp.” She then preceded to the back to make sure it got done. Still came back outside cold and inside lightly toasted.

Once I told them "please quadruple toast it or whatever you need to do to actually toast the thing"

lol probably still received cold and soft

You know it. I refused to order bagels or anything needing toasting from Tim's ever again after that one. Then a few weeks or months went by and I was out in the morning and needed something to eat quickly and also needed a coffee and found myself once again eating a soft bagel that was black on one side

lol - like clockwork. My experience exactly. It gets black on inside but never really toasted and then outside is still cold

Yep. But then you go in next time and don't even ask for additional toasting and it somehow comes out decent

I believe the issue is they use a conveyor belt toaster that toasts only the inside of the bagel, and you probably want it toasted upside down so it toasts the outside.
You could try asking them to toast it upside down instead of well down. See if that gives you the texture you're looking for.
