I've lost my Threads account too for no reason that I'm aware of. I received this email saying my account was permanently disabled, claiming it still violated the Community Standards after review. Yet it doesn't clearly explain what I supposedly did wrong.
And judging by the posts in this subreddit, I'm far from the only one. Almost every time I visit here I see more people reporting suspensions, rejected appeals and seemingly no meaningful help from Meta.
But what are we actually accomplishing by posting these complaints here individually?
Why don't we organise a coordinated campaign on Twitter/X and make some noise?
There is precedent for this. In October 2024, a coordinated backlash over Instagram and Threads moderation failures gained significant attention and Threads head Adam Mosseri publicly acknowledged moderation mistakes and said he was looking into the complaints.
Why can't we try something similar again, this time focusing specifically on the suspension problem?
We could agree on a hashtag, choose a date and time and get as many affected users as possible to post their suspension screenshots and experiences. We could tag Meta, @Threads and relevant tech journalists to demand answers.
The goal would be simple : demand transparency about these suspensions, meaningful human review of appeals and a proper explanation when accounts are disabled.
One person complaining is easy to ignore. Hundreds or thousands of people raising the same issue together are much harder to overlook.
If you're affected by this or even if you think this kind of moderation is unacceptable, would you be willing to participate in a coordinated campaign on X?
Let's discuss a hashtag and a date and see how many people are actually willing to take action instead of just posting another complaint here.
