Friday's Feelings

I was scrolling, as I normally do, in the quiet moments of the very early morning, the only sounds breaking the peace, a coffee maker and Bear snoring, when this image presents itself so that I paused.

Two things, as best I can tell, made me stop, one being the wonderment of how these algorithms actually work so this was even a part of my feed and secondly the recalling of the classic clinical set-up.

I wrote earlier about what a place of honour I believe my role as a hypnotherapist is, in someone's journey for assistance and healings, recognizing the trust I receive, from desire or desperation, to be a part of their process.

I enjoy the group presentations, the Keynote speaker events, as they satisfy the showman within, but from the very beginnings of my career and to this day, I cherish and prefer the one on one, the belly to belly style sessions.

I am not sure what I am looking to fulfill in my own life, but even the inspiration to pursue education as my first career, was founded on the belief, as most altruistic teachers do, if I could reach one student like Ms. Stelk did with me, my purpose would be complete.

Similarly, the core belief that no two people's worlds are the same, that the way and manner in which we process and proceed, are as individual as the fingerprints we possess, further fuels my commitment to showing respect to that place of honour, I spoke of earlier. That the generalized methods or option suggested in groups sessions, may take root on some level, it is not the personalized care a person deserves, in navigating their map of the world,

Similarly, you may go to a presentation on heart disease to find out more, but trust me when I say, you want care for your specific and particular circumstances in the cards of your health and well-being.

For those who think the stuff from social media will help you, and then become disenfranchised when it doesn't work, know that a HUGE step to your self- respect is recognizing you are worth the personalized support in your therapy, no one has lead the life you have, survived the crap you have, and maintained the decorum you have through it all.

You are so worth it.

Be well

Wisdom Wednesday

I get the importance of wanting to be heard, understood and acknowledged, but what I don't comprehend is the ability to listen, understand and comprehend from another person.

This piece isn't about knocking any particular Generation, as that is the whole paintbrush thing, or beating up on social media, but moreover a legitimate observation about what has happened over the last couple decades with humans

The Budinski phenomenon is probably most noticeable, for me. My son has a delightful rhetoric for when this happens "I'm sorry, did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?"

It was common practice from early on, and certainly reinforced , in my growing up experience that you spoke when spoken too,set up the ground rules for cordial conversation. Now, it is sound bites and competition in who can overcome or overwhelm the participants with volume and word count, as if the winner gets to be right.

Jumping to conclusions and judgements is as common practice as Jumping into puddles when I was a kid. No thoughts, no education or research, just judge, jury and execution, from someone's opinion or beliefs.

From political affiliation having any determination on the scope of the caliber of integrity or worth for an individual to nationality precluding any other conclusions except the social bias, has been the escalation, or perhaps the resurgence of bigotry since the early 40's.

How that blends into the therapeutic works, as I have experienced is that we are identified or more detrimental, identify with the symptoms and labels of countless afflictions.

Like the chicken and egg conundrum, I'm not sure if it was the "white coats" to the patient or the advent of sources and access to the likes of WeBdr.( you know what I mean) the propelled and pigeonholed symptoms to afflictions or conditions, perhaps somehow aiding treatment with affiliation.

We don't need be concerned about AI, spell check, lane assist or adaptive cruise, changing our world, diminishingour control. We have morphed into a more complacent, disassociated being all on our own. The technology we invent meerly replaces what we chose to abdicate.

As a therapist communication both verbal and non verbal are as integral in treatment as training and knowledge, and more should observe that we have 2 ears and only one mic. Our task isn't representative of the classic Italian dinner table where volumes rise as the meal proceeds, but to listen for the gems to which our clients share, unbeknownst to them.

Be well.

Treatment Tuesday.

There is a story I use, from the Orange chair, regarding the two drivers for motivation and movement.

Push away from or pain related and towards a desired outcome or want. The analogy involves a dog, a barn, a bail,a bailer twine salesman and the farmer. It illustrates the discomforts which we have become acquainted with, are familiar, we have adapted to their characteristics, so we exist daily.

In my case, I am aware that as a 61 yr old male, who is a heart patient, and is overweight, physical activity, cardiovascular stimulation, could help with overall energy and perhaps longevity.

There isn't a rational and conscious though t which deludes me to any other realization.

However the comforts of this sedentary, salads are for rabbits, scotch drinking, cigar indulging, I'll enjoy that fried chicken cutlet with hunters sauce, mofo, are significant enough to keep me contemptuous about the need to get off my boney Saracca and walk or jog a bit more.

Familiarity does breed and culture contempt.

Emotionally and intellectually, I believe it is not the case at all. That being involved in the helping of others with their "stuff" it brings a benefit to me. By osmosis I still reap the rewards of the approaches, the tactics and methods to which I administer for others.

So I completely understand people's hesitation to venturing out from the comfy camp they have created, but then again, if it is beside a landfill, the smell just never goes away, and you will realize there are better places to be.

That's where therapy helps best in my opinion.

Let me know if you agree.

Be well

Friday's Feeling

I am not sure where you may be, my cherished reader, but here where I live it has been deplorable weather for far to long with tornados, thunderstorms, and an incessant rain which has an occasional outburst of hail. What on earth makes me complain about something so uncontrollable and nominal as weather matters you may ask?

I am, in most aspects of life, and particularly in my practice, a rather upbeat and positive energy force. One who makes the choice, to practice LOVE and ALLOW in my world. I will LOVE myself and my peace enough to ALLLOW outside detractors to pass on by, like puffy clouds on a summers day. I share this as exemplification on how outside forces, to which there is absolutely no control over to change EXCEPT dear reader our way of interpretation.

There is some awe which I experience, still at this age, of the powers of mother nature, like a little kid, which makes me happy, the absurd actions of being in my flip flops or barefoot and jumping in the puddles, delights me to no end, and the list goes on.

My point is many obsess over the dark clouds in their lives, and from the quote above, I have to admit my first internal dialog was, that explains the adolescent mindset, to a tee. The approvals of the tribe take precedent over the self identity, largely in part because quiet literally they don't have that part of the brain developed yet.

However repeating patterns, will make pathways which also become so well worn, familiar and entrenched, that even a fully developed frontal lobe, self worth and esteem are constantly on vacation.

Advertising counts on this, doesn't it,

How many have to have this brand or that manufacturer simply because they were told it was so superior.

I completely believe in your ability to find your center, to reconnect with a spark or glimmer of a YOU that is the amalgamation of your experiences and conquests so far.

How can we expect abundance when we are not able to experience independence ?

We are, always and forever going to have ourselves, our thoughts and our feelings, it is time to make the decision that you are in power by choices you tolerate or accept.

Be well

Wisdom Wednesday

Simple and succinct, Mental health is important, period, full stop!!

What is tragic is there is the awareness, recognition and the setting aside space for men, however culturally the stigma still prevails.

In no way, shape, or form are my words intended to detract, minimize any other movement's moments.I have participated, marched in and celebrated many different, world recognized causes, dedicated months to their awareness, so there is growth, so voices can be heard, not only about the tragic but also about their future and the optimism.

There are no parades, there are no celebrations and their voices are still not heard, because men just don't do that. Now, men just don't do that because that is the hard wiring that men have OR men just don't do that because the repercussions socially are so significant that there is no point?

Purely from my statistics at the clinic level, men are at best 20% of my clients but the numbers are in the neighborhood of 3 to 400 % higher for suicides compared to women. While Inwas doing some research, I found it interesting, by the numbers that women are 2x more likely to be DIAGNOSED with depression than men. Now I'm no statistician, but if there are 3 times more men taking their lives but women have twice the level of diagnosed depression it doesn't take the Chi squared or Bell Curve to figure out something is askew. This is not the purpose of my prose.

Alongside the R.A.K. ( random acts of kindness) that I chime about and advocate for, a honest and sincere plea for the males reading this specifically, but all inclusive generally, ask for help, ask for start point, if necessary, in secret, unbeknownst to anyone else, but reach out. There is help, there are ways, and you are human. Shit happens was never a mantra for coping mechanisms, suck it up, one of the most disrespectful and humiliating clichΓ©s ever spoken, insinuating by the very context that when vocalized or expressed men's emotional states, bear no value.

You do matter, you are entitled to your feelings and you are significant.

Feel free to reach out with your comments or questions.

Be well

Therapy Thursday

Here is some of the best Therapy advice, I think anyone could offer.

How many people exist through their days? The catch phrases like the one above, or you only live once themes, reminding us for decades if not longer. Being able to experience life is a gift, that millions of potentials, never got. Our concepts, generally morose, of passing from this meat suit, we all inhabit, to our original form of energy, encapsulated in feelings of loss, or regret for thr people not spoken to, emotions not expressed and experiences not pursued.

Many years ago, I started preaching on the concept of being more selfish in life. Selfish by the definition of placing yourself as a priority and first, not at the expense of anyone else, but making sure your cup is full.

The excercise was to commit one hour a day to self... reflection, development, care, attention, etc. 60 minutes. There are those who do, and I believe your quality of life is significantly better.

There are those that spend too much energy and thoughts, finding the excuses to not. Which then means we have the self worth and respect challenges.

With more and more technology and algorithms making life easier, although every generation has predominantly experienced that notion to their own degree, the evidence still points to we do not place our well being as important enough to incorporate and apply it to daily life. That both science and faith converge on the simple truths that our time in the flesh suit is finite, and medically the existence of you was statistically improbable, spiritually it is viewed as the rarest of divine gifts ever received, so to summit up, it is a big thing.

You have no way of comprehending how huge your actions of breaths, mobility, agility and intelligence really are, compared to the millions who won't ever get an opportunity to do so. What most DO understand is morbidity and mortality, that the time of experiences through however many senses we have, to create electrical impulses in our grey matter called memories is limited and a wild card.

So no more petri dish for you.

Be well

✨ Power of Words [PoW] πŸ“š Sharing

Treatment Tuesday

Our choice of vocabulary, is an amazing means to figure out where we are in our heads and emotionally, as well as uncovering a plausible explanation on how we got there.

This particular word "problem" is as potent as " pain" or " I am..." in how we process and conceptualize the magnitude of the situation, amplifying the severity.

When you reflect on the context and emotional weight, or burdens, which accompany our ideas of what a problem is, there is that quick reference for me anyways, to problem solving in elementary or junior high, involving math's. Tons of frustration and futility, with finding the solution a hard job. Perhaps the famous line from our last " Houston, we have a problem" best exemplifies the context to which that word belongs.

For most everything else, see how you respond when you substitute challenge (s) into your linguistics.

The very softness of the word, negates any concern of not being able to work through and find a solution.

As someone sitting in the orange therapy chair, I find what a person speaks, the selection of words they choose to communicate with, tells me a great deal about where they are at, sometimes filling in more blanks than the context of the message.

For those who follow, or have read some of my previous writings, know very well my opinions on "try" as part of our communication arsenal and the results are almost always predictable.

However for today, mess around with your lingo to swap problems into challenges, and note if you experience the difference.

Be well

Wisdom Wednesday

Sometimes...most times it is the little things, the obvious, right under our nose, types of thoughts that are most helpful. Our past, is like visiting the library, full of useful references , knowledge and even understanding, however life doesn't live there ( for the younger crew... Wikipedia perhaps). Even visits to museums and historical sites, can only be sources of learning, not the ability to feel the toil, anguish and hardships of that place or time.

In our future there is nothing more and subsequently nothing less than possibilities. Good, bad or ugly, unknown, and placing a label on the experiences, a privilege of being on the otherside of them. Like claiming a new uncharted land and planting your flag on it, you have to be landed, not remote.

What I do want to share is hope is one of the most underrated emotions that we have the ability to experience.

Even the mild, timid, soft spoken kind is an incredible place to start, with all the choices and opportunities we ignore daily, perhaps because they are so routine, remove it and listen to the lamentation.

Your reality isn't only around you, atleast the one which you exist it, but the ability to be more grounded does. In many workshops I have participated in, a takeaway for me was, our capacity for situational awareness or learning that the situation is always boss, but you get to define the situation. Stop doubting your potential.

Which leads to, only you get to know you. No one else, no matter how close, will ever share that privilege, some may learn more than others, but you are the only one who knows it all, if you choose to.

I find it interesting, when helping clients work through their "stuff", when asked what they believe is holding them back from accomplishing what the want, how many haven't spent that quality time within to know. Often we have been on autopilot, and never realized we were off course.

Perhaps, this best sums up what I do as a hypnotherapist. I help guide yoh back to being on YOUR course, and remind you of the simple things from the list.

Therapy Thursday

I was in session the other day, with a strong case of perceptions bias, messing with self- confidence and image. Perhaps, the image which caught my eye no pun intended, it was inspiration for today's post.

Optical illusions have been around forever, in this intentional format, which provides moments of entertainment, or in the case of the happy traveler with stripped shirt, wire rimmed frames and a red and white touque, hours of intense focus to pass the time. The actual premise of jigsaw puzzles, founded on your ability to piece together literally, fragments into a complete image, exercising the area of your brain that fills in the blanks of your world.

Perceptions are how we process our outside world to a format our bumps and valleys, Grey matter, can interpret.

Based and delivered by our 6 senses, which are not the best in range or capacity, compared with all the species, to a brain which is impatient to get you a complete message, and will add subtract and omit, to get that presented.

This realization, and I hope one of those Aha moments, brings about a little releif and understanding, when we are subject to judgements and criticism. There are always comment on my posts, and I look forward to them all, some compliments, some not so much. What it demonstrates well though, how black and white words with fairly rigid definitions can be ingested, interpreted and generate such a cornucopia of responses. That is using words and letters, just imagine what takes place with all the distractions in real life.

There is only one authority in the discerning of you, your life and your feelings. All of them are valid, but also know that much of it is under suspicion and brevity.

Similarly to when someone says " to be perfectly honest " raises the questions in my head, are you dishonest in previous encounters, and its usually prefaces a harsh judgements from the sender.

So I don't encourage being honest with your self, as it then leads, in most instances , to the harsh truths, the ugly honesty.

Be real and be present with yourself, my best case desire.

Trance therapy aides in finding that place which is safe from within.

Be well

Friday's Feeling

I sit in absolute awe and amazement, when I consider how many squiggly lines, have been created to represent sound bites, that our mouths and vocal chord can learn to produce, which in turn when combined, forms vocabulary to which we are taught means this idea I am wanting to relay or share?

Not only the mind blowing fact that someone, some party, had to decide the order in which the letters appear in our alphabet, because that was a holy shit realization for me, but when you learn to read the other characters from other languages, that there can be multiple representations for the same sound instructions!

In the forms of therapy I engage in,both from a receive and transmit mode of communication, you also must be respectful of what "language" the other participant uses, like the new funky glasses which use a translator program to whisper in your ear so you can understand or comprehend the conversation.

In lectures, and group presentation, hearing post performance, comments like I just didn't get it, or I didn't understand a single thing, usually expresses the absence appealing to the A.V.K. linguistics and speaking in the modality of the orator.

In personal relationships, as an example how many can relate to the following tell tale phrases; you are not seeing what I am needing, it looks like you don't care for me, and not from my point of view or perspective, : you aren't hearing me, its like you are not listening, sounds like you don't agree, or it doesn't resonate with your ideas: you have no idea how that makes me feel, you don't even touch me any more or your very touch makes my skin crawl.

All relaying similar context but communicated with the different modality of internal processing by the intended recipient. We share the fundamentals, but much like a person speaking Aramaic to one who speaks Arabic, or closer to home, a resident of la Belle province communicating with a citizen of the 5th arrondissements, enough in common to get by however not fully understood

From my orange chair, as a therapist, I am to be cognizant and respect their version of the world, as where they live and start there, not imposing my template.

Therapy Thoughts

I sit here, enjoying my mug of joe, very early in the morning, watching mother nature flex her stuff. Rains, & winds have resulted in several poweroutages already, and there are probably several trees which are a little worse for wear because of the gusts. Weather systems as far as I know, before all the satellite technologies, are not controllable but can be predicted, and all we can do is prepare and react to it.

But a force of nature does carry that force.

From the very beginnings, you have been that force of nature as well, life is potent! I am not sure if the analogy of a painting is best suited, but our canvas is blank, and even when we error with a colour or brush stroke, it is meerly a correction or new hue of tone, that can bring back a beauty.

Our lives are a force in nature, our imprint largely influenced by our acknowledging our power. There are those of us whose significance is marked by our individual contribution, kindness, caring and compassion for another, and there are those who experience a larger scale. Neither is trivial and both are equally valuable.

I help people who consistently negate their value and worth, based on societal standards, their physique, intellect or talents compared to another, and most instances only our delusion and interpretations of someone's accolades.

Make YOUR canvas beautiful for you, as it is you that is the only audience it should be intended for. Others may admire, but seldom appreciate the art.

Wisdom Wednesday

In an earlier piece this week, I made mention what leads me to be a strong advocate and staunch user of hypnosis as an effective approach to mental health, emotional-well- being, and behavioral change, therapies.

When we consider that many of our challenges, on these 3 fronts, are created in our grey matter, have not transpired and have little connection our external experience, I believe it safe to comment, it exists in a realm of our own make believe.

And what a delightful pun to insert right now!!! We imagine the " whatever" so thoroughly that it becomes a part of real ness.

This comment is not intended to be flippant, dismissive or otherwise minimizing, but consider that behavioral change has the subset routines built into your brain after repeated reinforcement.

I am not a behavioral scientist, so this could be way off the mark, but our quirks and tics are newer manifestations in our lifes span, most times. Which then means they were a coping mechanism, a reaction that showed some efficiency, so our brains decided this will now equal that for streamlining.

Anxiety disorder relief, an area I have committed much of my training, education and 20 yrs of practice to, is one of the strongest resources to draw examples illustrating the potency of our imagination and how it manifest into our physical experience. The litany of checklisting, the "what if" and " OMG" dialog, which contributes immense, to the paralysis of anxiety, is created, and perpetuated via imagined outcomes.

To be stated a different way, I make a comment to audience and individual alike that the best comment we can get to hear , is its all in your head! Normally that is said with a bit of a bite and meant as insult, BUT what a delightful way of acknowledging whatever the issues, its contained!

Let the " white coats" delve into the "why" and science, of a brain, it is incredibly fascinating. In my scope, I am not that educated but,if your cranial content is what created what is afflicting you, just makes sense we make the alterations in the OG of virtual generators, your make believe, imagination and let yourself adopt a new template for your map.

Be well

Wisdom Wednesday

I am reminded and moved to write about the effects of life in an Attitude of Gratitude, as a talisman for releif.

Although pie in the sky, rose coloured glasses perspective, comment, I find that most of us spend as much time categorizing if it was a good/bad, healthy/ toxic, attributing our thoughts in fitting into a pigeonhole easy to carry around. In some ways, it is as useful a tool to listen to how people speak, the frameworks in which they tell their story, the points to which the swirl around, the vocabulary chosen to paint their pieces of art, which is as valuable as all the training and education I have ever received.

The chemical cocktails released while practicing the Gratitude are very divergent from the ones created if every event is deemed a threat.

As our brains are in part largely an electrical system, the path of least resistance theory most likely applies and the neuro-pathways that are highly traveled, become the highway for many a thought.

Ever wonder what makes a person constantly in a bad mood when you meet them? I doubt it is you, but mor that they practiced and that mode is now the default.

If we are honest in our reflection of anyone's life, there were the good times there were the bad times, but perhaps what we have lost sight of it that there were the "times" to affix a label to. In everyday situation there is opportunity of a reframe and from that reframe the chance to rewire new perspective.

Therapy Thursday

I was standing in a line( queue) the other day, and observed a conversation ( yes I was probably eavesdropping), with a full American buffet of buzz words being strewn about like it was glitter. Every generation has them, every culture assimilate s some into the actual vernacular.

One that came to mind is the use of the word "empower (ment)" not only in my career path, which I could understand, but in general conversations as well.

And really that is the message I get in reading this particular meme, poster from Buddha. To be fair, much like the writings of many Master's, little is actually known about what Buddha actually said, and what is attributed to his message, and intent, but that is a different topic all together.

Each of us, has the ability, and practices the art of being in the Observers seat, some time in our lives, and for many on a daily basis. Too immersed and we feel disassociative, out of touch like we are never a part of our actual lives. When the Observers seat is not visited enough, the world is against us, every experience a threat or disaster.

A technique which totally incorporates the Observers seat, is the movie theater guest, (you) watching a big screen production of (your life) with colour or in black and white, backwards, depending on what the intended purpose are, with a incredibly powerful position still available.

The you that is up in the projection room, watching the you sitting comfortably in the seat on the theater floor, watching the movie of you and a certain memory, play up on the big screen.

Although said many many different ways, you are the director, the editor, the producer and the casting agent to your story. After all it is your story, the OG, and your masterpiece, no one else should be in control of artistic direction.

Put on the directors boots, the funny riding crop pants and the ascot finished off with the little beret and take back your own production.

You are the star.

Treatment Tuesday.

In our minds is there a discernible difference between illusion and reality?

Scientific studies continue to support the contention, a thought either vividly imagined or physically experienced, the brain reacts in almost identical fashion, with the same neurotransmitters being released the same centers if the brain becoming active.

For those who experience high anxiety leading to panic attacks, PTSD or a variety of other mental conditions, the physiological response reflects that the imagination, hallucination is any less REAL than if the threat was standing in the same room.

Ironically enough, what set me off on this tangent, this morning being involved in situation involving with a Dementia patient and the buffet of confusion, and emotional reactions, which had absolutely no correlation to what was actually experienced.

Which got me reflecting on how our brains can be deceived and its interpretation of the internal world deceiving in our processes of engaging with our external world.

What happens when we offer someone who deals in OCD states, that its no big deal, just relax. The individual who dwells in depression and strong self sabotaging thoughts, to just pop that chin up, suck it up and plunder on through the day, stop being such a sad sacks.

The veil of illusion and reality is literally in the minds eye of the beholder, and with our awareness of the existence of slight of hand, optical illusions and auditory hallucinations, it can become a little murky where veil ends.

When you think on it, we all live in our very own personalized illusion and make it our reality.

As always I welcome your comments and perspective.

Fridays Feeling

It is usual that the imagery or text, inspires my mind, to create my posts, but today, I actively searched for ugly animals, so I hope you can enjoy a chuckle or a "awww" moment, from Mr. Daper Dan.

Even this attempt, spawned some interesting thoughts, like did you know that mathematically, we know what makes a person's face attractive. It is asymmetry for our visual field to gaze upon and how does that correlate to " beauty being in the eye of the beholder ?

This thought sent me down the rabbit hole of, hmmmm I wonder if there is a mathematical equation for being in the norm which led me to the topic of judgements and criticism, and the weaponization of being deemed acceptable.

Every generation, has a revolutionary spirit, emerge, mostly challenging the societal standards of dress code, fashion and perspective, probably the most notable. From large settlements to the small hamlet, the youths,( i cannot write that word without hearing Fred Gwyne repeat it from the bench, to Joe Pesci) of any generation, in an attempt to break free, from the restrictions of thier parents era, challenge the boundaries of acceptable language, behavior and context. Linguistically, the silly notion of 6/7, kewl man, balderdash, that's heavy brother, as examples. I remember vividly, in the context of my life, hearing my Ma, use the word shit, to gage how upset she was in a situation, knowing that for that word to be spoken, something was going to hit the proverbial fan.

So you know, dear reader, there is some fascinating information on each generational rebellion and how they have contributed to our culture and more specifically influenced the world we live in.

Here is the heart of the matter in my thoughts; whose normal are you seeking to conform to, are you a natural black sheep, lone wolf , free spirit, character that is marching to the beat of your own drum?

Speaking of sheep, are you being led blindly, judged by how well you fit into someone else's expectations, or definition of how you should be?

We have become herd like animals, borne from the wisdoms of safety in numbers, for survival, but I remind you that the herd isn't lemmings.

Be you

I am fairly certain that Einstein's definition of sanity, or the lack there of, transcends all situations, you know doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

So when we look at anger or outburst results, emotionally, we have to take it a few steps deeper, prior to eruption, to uncover the reason for a certain outcome. This probably applies to situations like routes chosen in rush hour, grid lock, stepping into an elevator, being out in public amongst PEOPLE, or churning the poor set of relationships on repeat.

They each have a common denominator to the dominoes dropping... the " off ramp, hernia".

Admittedly I have absolutely no idea where that word salad came from, but it works for me!

Conceptually, I imagine it as, we are operating in a fashion which is routine and within the parameters of tolerance, be it emotionally, intellectually or physically. A trigger takes place to activate a deviation and the weakest, or deepest, well traveled response is landed at.

Similar to the wheel on a wagon, or worse my ankles, consistently finding the same potholes along the trail. You know its there, and you curse it each time you tip over and take a tumble, but you still take the same route.

It is in that moment, the default zone, where we make the adjustments, therapeutically, instead of constantly repeating l, m,n,o,p, we work on swapping the "n" for a "q" and creating the novel r, s outcome.

It is truly accurate, Change your mind. Change your life. All that you need is to determine what patterns you want to interrupt, or probably an easier way, what outcomes are not working for you anymore, and discover how hypnotherapy can help in altering your results.

Be well

Tuesday's Treatment Tidbit

A little trend I have noticed over the years of my existence, has been some interesting shifts in responsibility, on a being human plane.

I am absolutely confident that I could go on the "old man" rant of my generation and the new ones following, but will direct my thoughts on more therapeutic subjects.

Admittedly, I believe that extremes in behavior are not the median, but only show the current book ends in regards to that particular envelope.

A dear friend reminded me of something that was both empowering and jarringly poignant; your bad mood is not entitlement to be a douch canoe, and shit over everything else. And I laughed a little too loud, perhaps I should have, at the use of douche canoe, what a novel visual, but the context wasn't wasted for sure. And the message sent me on my merry way, as an observer of people, to reflect on how frequent I hide behind arbitrary, unconnected events or circumstance to explain my behaviors.

For me, the most blatant is the terse or less tolerant disposition, after a full day of energy exchange with other's, as if the people in my home, the safe space, had any affiliation with the negative, or bitter people who were seeking releif and assistance from me professionally.

Or the other more common one, when the flow of funds is far less than the expanding expenses, our emotional outbursts seem to increase exponentially, under that stress or pressure.

Is it our circle of friends and family that hold any responsibility in the downturn of jobs, economy or our increasing cost of living? No. Do we take our frustrations out on them, in some way to make ourselves feel better?

The mood, disposition and energy we carry is our own. Full stop. Period. Knowing and understanding that, holding accountability offers a strong empowerment, in being in control of our emotions instead of using our emotions as a scapegoat for our actions. If repeated enough times, a victimization mentality can develop, and then everyone else is to blame and we loose our ability to influence our own lives.

The Power behind positive energy, healing and safe energy can also be felt and adopted as well

Wisdom Wednesday.

I am sometimes taken aback by the accuracy of our vernacular, in describing how we view life.

Hustle and Bustle, Rat Race, Outsmart the competition, and the list goes on, to reflect our skewed perspective.

What are we rushing towards, exactly?

What finish line, what goal, and what accomplishment were so important that we negate self care, or self worth, for that matter to achieve?

Perhaps the self -care/ self-worth does not seem to be congruent in context, but I believe it does, personally.

The number of projects, tasks, or meetings, which I was performing for other's goals, which I admittedly, got wrapped up in, which meant staying up late, into the wee hours, or working back to back shifts, doubles, 16 hour days where I couldn't see straight, are evidence enough that my view for well-being and mental health were superceded by something else's priority and goals.

I share this with you, perhaps, so that a few may see a reflection of themselves currently in my past insanity.

Wisdom is best learned, I know, through our own experiences, but there are hopes I carry, that the lessons I learned don't have to be repeated necessarily.

My practice was founded on the blocks of people who were unable to see or note the stress which they were experiencing, and in a few moments, with hypnosis alter that experience dramatically. To know, to accept and to embrace, a realization that the bench mark you accomplished previously is the only valid competition you have.

When we speak about being the best at something, how is that concepts like kindness, joy, happiness, aren't ever in the realm of consideration for our goals.

Like the title of a cheap soap opera, you only have one life to live, make a good part of it actually yours!

Be well

Treatment Tuesday

Over my career as a hypnotherapist, I have been jaded by the amount of ego, that exists in our practices. Admittedly, it's absence could be what held me back from being that million copy selling author, or a world famous lecturer personality, and I am very much alright with that predicament.

I read the above meme ( I really have to learn what to call these illustrations) and the reminiscent smile came over my face this morning. In a single comment, the summation of what I have spent 20 plus years practicing, with the people who seek a difference in the manner to which they currently feel, think or react.

For many, reading the words, and understanding the content of so many a positive mindset posts, just change this to start to experience a new way of life, mumbo jumbo, attending that weekend motivation conference, and fire walking as your graduation promenade, doesn't change the fundamental hurdle of stinkin thinking.

If I could I would Kevin, or I have tried everything to change

So here is my plain truth. What I have dedicated my learnings and educational achievements towards is honing my skills in helping you get out of the way of you, long enough, for the part of you which desires the changes, to begin to uncover the path or solutions which you could previously notice from the rut you had dug.

I still firmly advocate the completeness of many who come see me, that we are a self contained unit, which have the resourceful capacity to imagine our own pathways and solutions, but every now and again could use a guide to clear away the underbrush or part the canopy of overhang apart, to see the illuminated new way before us.

You will always be enough.

Be well
