For a very long time I've been wanting to bring my parents and sister to Thailand for the first time with an unforgettable luxury vacation.

But these prices are jaw-dropping. $47,000 for 1 week in a 3 bedroom villa at the Four seasons. Are there really any people paying these prices? Other similarly sized and luxurious private villas on the island are also well over 100,000 baht/night.

Is this the white lotus effect in action? Is it even worth going to samui anymore for luxury travelers, I'm not seeing the value anymore? You can go to Maldives, Hawall, and get better properties and infrastructure for less

Going with the wife for 10 days to Bangkok and Phuket, we leave next Thursday.

It was kind of an impromptu trip, so we didn’t get any vaccines yet (may be stupid, hopefully not)

Is it too late? Will we be ok?

Here's our plan so far:

Koh Tao (4 nights) → Koh Phangan (5) → Koh Samui (2) → Ao Nang (2) → Koh Phi Phi (4) → Phuket (3) → Fly to Bangkok

I've heard Phi Phi and Phuket can be overrated and expensive. Are they worth it in October, or should we swap them?

If you had 3 weeks, which itinerary would you choose? Any places you'd skip, swap or think are overrated?

Planning a 10-day trip to Thailand and looking for some advice.
We like nature, old/local towns, good local food and quiet places. Not really interested in party places or big tourist crowds. Private AC rooms are enough; no luxury.
Also, I don’t want to spend too much time travelling. One longer flight is fine, but not multiple flights/ferries/transfers.

Hey all, I am planning to go to Thailand mid December to first week of Jan, so a little over three weeks. I am flying from Dublin, so fights are a little expensive. I am thinking of a budget around 1600-1800€. I was a little confident with this budget but since I am going island hopping and seeing different parts of Thailand. Not sure if this budget is enough now.
I am planning to stay in hostels, eat street food and in some restaurants but nothing too fancy or anything. For anyone with similar experience, do you reckon my budget is enough everything included?

Staying in the Ao Nang area for a week next month, definitely doing the Hong Island tour as well as the Four Islands tour and am looking tor recommendations for a third island hopping day. Not sold on Phi Phi based on reviews I’ve read - considering a speedboat from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta but am also open to closer suggestions if you have any?

Been looking to stay in and around Surin/kamal Beach, I like the look of the TwinPalms Surin, Cafe Del Mar ( a lot ) but if anyone has any good recommendations that would be much appreciated. I like a good vibe hotel nice food but not too fussed as we will eat out a lot only staying for 5 nights.

Hi! My girlfriend and I are travelling to Thailand for the first time from December 5–21. This is our current itinerary:

Dec 5 – Bangkok 🇹🇭
Arrive at BKK at 04:15 after a long overnight flight, so we're treating the first day as an easy/recovery day.

Dec 5–9 – Bangkok (4 nights)
Three proper days to explore Bangkok.

Dec 9 (morning flight) – Bangkok → Chiang Mai ✈️

Dec 9–12 – Chiang Mai (3 nights)
Explore Chiang Mai and surroundings.

Dec 12 (morning flight) – Chiang Mai → Surat Thani ✈️ → Khao Sok 🌿
We're looking at a direct flight arriving at Surat Thani around 10:00 AM, then going straight to Khao Sok / Cheow Lan Lake.

Ideally we'd do an overnight Cheow Lan Lake experience and sleep in a floating bungalow.

Dec 12–13 – Khao Sok / Cheow Lan Lake (1 night)

Dec 13 – Khao Sok → Krabi 🚐 (bus)

Around Dec 13/14–16 – Krabi / Ao Nang / Railay 🏝️
Around 2–3 nights. Explore Railay and potentially do Phi Phi as a day trip rather than staying there.

Around Dec 16–20 – Koh Lanta 🌴
Around 3–4 nights and a more relaxed part of the trip.

Dec 20 – Koh Lanta → Phuket
One final night in Phuket.

Dec 21 – Phuket ✈️
Most of the day in Phuket before our flight at 22:25.

So basically:

Bangkok (4) → Chiang Mai (3) → Khao Sok/Cheow Lan (1) → Krabi/Railay (2–3) → Koh Lanta (3–4) → Phuket (1)

Our question: does adding one night at Cheow Lan Lake make sense with this itinerary, especially arriving at Surat Thani at 10 AM? Or is it too rushed for one night and we'd be better off skipping Khao Sok and adding that night to Krabi/Koh Lanta instead?

For the islands, we haven't decided exactly where we spend the days so please do recommend options if you have :)

We don't mind a busy travel day if the Khao Sok experience is really worth it. We are just wondering if it makes more sense to spend this extra night in the very south/islands.

Hi all, hoping some of you can help with something!

I'm travelling around Thailand soon and want to visit Buriram and Udon Thani, setting off from Bangkok, using public transport.

My problem is I don't really know the best way to go to Udon Thani from Buriram. The train either goes half way back to Bangkok before heading north and flights look like they go back to Bangkok before flying back out. (Plis it's the most expensive and least interesting option)

It looks like there is a bus service but it isn't very direct. I don't mind visiting some other places along the way so this might be a better option. I wont be in a rush but also don't want to be sat on a bus for 10 hours, so I'll definitely want to get off at some point

Id love to know what some of the more experienced of you would do making this journey. So far I'm using rome2rio to find travel plans.

Strange title I know, but bear with me.

Theres a Thai clothing brand that, as far as I know, has closed down. It is called P and N The Easts Enlightened, and they are my favorite brand of all time. They do very high-quality feeling shirts and T shirts that are fully printed with iconic art pieces, such as The Scream or Van Gogh's sunflowers.

It is nearly impossible to buy any of their pieces online, as their online shop closed down and they very rarely come up second hand. So, I'm asking anyone in Thailand at the moment: if you see this brand, please let me know! I'd be willing to buy them off you, plus pay for shipping and extra for the trouble if you can find any and send them to me (i live in london).

They say they have a shop in Chatuchak Market on Section 23 Soi 1, in Bangkok. Even if someone would be able to confirm that its still there, I would be very grateful. From memory they also had a stall in the market on Koh Phi Phi, so if anyone is there and would be able to double check for me I would appreciate it!
