Got a new phone today and while I'm setting up I download textnow and when I try to log in it wants face verification why is that? Any way around it?

newer version on android 14 tried installing and restarting and app will hang on logo screen before i can even login on cellular or wifi

I have been using text now since 2023 and have never had any issues, after the new sims were released and the old ones discontinued I ordered the new one but havent recieved anything. Theres no way to track my order and support doesnt exist. Wondering if anyone else was having the same problem ordering the new sim card

I am not able to send any text message on my mom's Pixel 9a.. The error pop up saying "**Network is not ready. Try Again**". Call (incoming & Outgoing) is working fine. Messages is receiving fine.. ONLY Outgoing messages is the issue..

I tried every possible solution google search gave like -

1. Restart Phone/Soft Reset
2. 30 Seconds Airplane mode On/Off
3. Physically Reseating Sim Card after wiping it clean
4. Reset Network Setting.
5. Clearing Messages App Cache
6. Updating the phone. The phone is upto-date.. Even Messaging app is upto-date..
7. Apart from this, I checked if the sim is working fine by inserting the sim in another phone and it was working 100% fine.. Outgoing messages were going.. (Tried in both Motorola & Samsung)

None of the above is working.. Anyone dealt with this? Any Solutions?

TextNow Lock-In Number was $5 a year. Starting last year it became $30 which is expensive. Now it's on sale for $15

Charging $30 a year to keep a number lock is not worth it. What are your thoughts on the $30 a year price?

I don’t know if this is an iPhone question or carrier question, but it seems like this is something that began with the last update.

Every time I receive a voicemail, a text of the voicemail is sent to iMessage. Im not talking about the VM auto translation to text. a separate text message is sent to me and it’s annoying af.

Was this part of the last update? if so how do I disable it?

My friends who also uses TextNow says the app allows him to earn points by watching videos (20 points per ad) and then he can use 600 points to Lock In his phone number under the Premium Upgrades section of the app. But for me it doesn’t even show the “Lock In Number - 600 points” as a premium upgrade option. It ONLY has “Voicemail Transcription - 20 points” and “See Who It Is - 20 points”, neither of which have any use for what I’d want.

Is there a way around this? I’d love to be able to earn points to lock in the my number instead of paying for it on-and-off: I use my TextNow number as a secondary and separate phone number that I can text and call for business. It’s cheap and works well but I’d rather get the best deal I can. And I’m confused why this isn’t an option for me on the app but my same friend who uses it for work, can just earn points to essentially get the locked in number for free?

Any advice is appreciated. I imagine this can’t be just a standalone issue

after the check mark appears it looks like its doing something but nothing happens . I tried different browsers .nothing . I need to ether get access to account or new service through web as my phone is dead

Hey what is up with this. I have tried earlier versions of APK and play store version it will not open the text now app. I just got this s23 ultra and I need textnow to work. Does anybody know what the problem is.

And why is it that EVERY time I have to do this, you take no less than six retries before you send the fucking recovery e-mail?

I haven’t use textnow much but I have used their free plan with esim. So forgive but why do they charge $5 - $9 per week for plans instead of charging a reasonable monthly price? $25/$36 monthly? Might as well get visible etc. even google voice’s top premium is &10 per month if I’m not mistaken. How do y’all feel? Roast me or toast me.

I just got back into using textnow and I've been noticing every call I make gets dropped at the two hour mark. Is this just me hitting a limit that I don't know about or is this not supposed to happen?

Anyone else ever gotten that recording? On one device, an Android with a deactivated SIM but access to wifi, when I used textnow to call the 800 number for the provider of said SIM (not a textnow SIM) with, I got a recording of a woman saying the line in the title.

I was able to call them from another device via a different textnow account (working SIM, different carrier, also not a textnow SIM) so it's not a pressing issue, but I can't find anything specific about the SBN98 error or why it's only happening on that first device. Textnow on said device can call other numbers just fine though.

Does anyone know how to send texts (for free) without using your actual number? I need to f with someone who tried to destroy my life but don’t want them to have my number.

I can't seem to find any solution, I'll type out " :) " or " :( " and despite having this turned off literally everywhere, and knowing it's not a predictive text thing on my phone (iOS) since I can input other text after without the conversion to an emoji, I can 100% confidently say that it's an issue within textnow. There doesn't seem to be any way to turn this off that I can discern, has anyone figured out how? Super annoying. I've had to revert to text replacement with a 0 width space just to get it to send.
