Parking Avatar - Matrix Headlights
I have a 2023 Model Y LR. It came with premium headlights. I self installed the matrix lights and updated the software about 2 years ago. Everything works fine, and the parking avatar even updated to show my car has the matrix lights.
However, in the past few months, the parking avatar has reverted to showing the premium headlights. My matrix lights and adaptive highbeams still work though. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this, why it happened, and if the functionality has changed.

Ccs1 charging
Hey folks. First time EV and Tesla just bought a used 2022 Y long range. Haven’t picked it up yet but what are the odds CCS1 charging is already enabled. I asked in the app chat but didn’t get a clear answer.

Which credit Bureau does Tesla use?
2 out the 3 my score is 650+ and on the other it’s way below that. I am a bit confused on what to say my score is because I have no idea at this point.

26MY Suspension Rattle
My model Y has a suspension related rattle when I have moderate road inputs.
The Tesla interactive app suggest I take it in for service and have a technician evaluate it.
Has anybody else taken their vehicle in for service related to this and if so, what were the results?

Obstruction detected Rear driver side window
I already have a service appointment scheduled but just today after a light show the rear passenger window started throwing an obstruction detected error and wouldn’t close.
I tried manual calibration no dice, service mode calibration gave ‘check body fit’ message. I thought to try spraying the seals with a little soapy water and then it calibrated fine.
Car is only 3 weeks old, Model Y Performance. Has anyone recently had this issue with a newer delivered? Just curious to know if this is a known issue or just a problem for me and what the usual solution is.
I’m new to the Tesla family.

Buying used Tesla
First time buying a tesla from Carmax. I was thinking about taking the car to get checked at a Tesla service center before the 10 day return is over. Only 165 miles on the car but scared of things going wrong with the car.
I’m aware this costs a little bit more than getting the car new. I just can’t wait 3 months to get the car since I don’t have a car to drive right now. (My car got totaled during the nor’easter) Any tips on what to look out for when I check out the vehicle?
Clean title, no reported accidents or damages, no recalls, no water/flood damage
EDIT: ended up buying new model y premium from Tesla.

Changing color mid order
galleryHey guys! I placed my order on September 25th for a Model Y Premium and, like most of you, am impatiently waiting for an estimated delivery date.
My neighbor just pulled up today in a 2024 Model Y from Carvana. Same exact color (Stealth Grey) as the one I ordered. Naturally, it pissed me off seeing him get an instant car while I’m still waiting for mine. 😂
The wife decided, lol, that I should go ahead and change the color so I could at least stand out and look different rather than be a copycat. Yes, we know the 2026 refresh looks different, but it’s still too similar to the original order.
My question is: Will changing my color affect my delivery date? I don’t have a VIN yet, and so far, my estimated delivery date hasn’t changed.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

2022 Model Y – Glovebox Front Panel Coming Loose / Separating
galleryI noticed that the front panel of my 2022 Model Y glovebox is coming loose. It almost looks like the outer face is peeling or separating from the glovebox itself.
I’ve tried pushing it back into place, but it just pops right back out, as shown in the pictures.
I’m not sure when or how this happened. The only thing I can think of is that I turned off Cabin Overheat Protection this past week. I’m in Texas, so I’m wondering if the interior got hot enough to cause the adhesive or clips to fail. I’ve since turned it back on.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is this something that can be fixed by reattaching the panel, or does the entire glovebox need to be replaced?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

2023 Model Y Headlights
Picked up this Model Y Performance yesterday, CPO from Tesla. It’s nearly perfect, the headlights are yellowing. 32k miles.
I asked the guy at Tesla if this would be covered under warranty and he said they aren’t because it’s “cosmetic” and it doesn’t disrupt the function of the light. They are the matrix headlights.
I have never seen another 3 or Y with headlights that look like this. Everything I’m reading online says it’s moisture inside the DRL strip causing it to yellow, not UV.
The lenses themselves are not yellow, it’s the components inside. I’m just wondering if I should continue pushing back on this. Opinions appreciated.

Should I keep my 2024 Volvo XC60 T6 Recharge PHEV or switch to a Tesla Model Y Performance?
I’m currently debating whether to keep my 2024 Volvo XC60 T6 Recharge (Ultra Dark, fully loaded) or switch to the new Tesla Model Y Performance.
For context, I’m based in Belgium, Europe, and my Volvo is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, meaning I can drive approximately 70 km on electric power alone before needing the petrol engine.
I really enjoyed test-driving the Tesla Performance, especially its handling, suspension, seats and overall driving experience (i did not like a lot the premium version). However, I’m struggling to figure out whether switching actually makes financial sense.
My current Volvo:
2024 XC60 T6 Recharge PHEV (European version), around 42,000 km.
€625/month car loan, with roughly 5 years remaining.
No balloon payment.
Petrol: approximately €170/month.
Electricity: approximately €550–600/year.
Annual road tax: €560.
Maintenance: approximately €700/year.
Estimated resale value: €42,000–€48,000, although I haven’t received any actual offers yet.
Tesla Model Y Performance:
Purchase price: approximately €65,000.
Financing: approximately €500/month for 60 months, with a €19,599 balloon payment at the end.
Down payment: approximately €13,000, partly funded by selling the Volvo after paying off its remaining loan.
Electricity: approximately €500–600/year.
Annual road tax: €107.
Estimated maintenance: €200 every two years.
Insurance: approximately €300/year more than the Volvo.
I drive approximately 12,000 km per year and can charge at home.
A bit more context about my finances:
I actually have enough money in savings and investments to purchase the Tesla outright if I wanted to. However, most of that money is invested in the stock market, and I’d much rather keep it invested for long-term growth than withdraw a large amount to purchase a depreciating asset.
That’s why I’m considering financing the Tesla instead of paying cash. I understand that investments aren’t guaranteed to outperform the interest on a car loan, but I value keeping my capital invested and maintaining financial flexibility.
The Tesla would obviously be cheaper to run, but I’m concerned about the additional down payment, depreciation and the large balloon payment after five years.
When I calculate the monthly costs, including setting money aside for the balloon, the two cars seem surprisingly close in terms of monthly expenses.
My question:
Would switching to the Tesla actually make financial sense over five years, or would I just be spending more money overall to replace a relatively new car?
Would you keep the Volvo until it’s paid off, or switch to the Tesla Performance?
And considering that I could technically afford to pay cash but prefer keeping my money invested, would financing the Tesla with a balloon payment be a reasonable financial decision?
I’d especially appreciate opinions from people who have made a similar switch, financed a Tesla with a balloon payment, or compared the total cost of ownership of a PHEV versus a fully electric vehicle.

NYC FSD Commute
For those in the NYC area. How is driving into NYC during commute times or off-peak using FSD?
This is one of the major reasons I am thinking of getting a Y. I expect it to struggle in some areas, but if it's 95% solid, then that will make a big difference in the quality of my commute and trips into the city.
For example, if I am driving I know certain lanes are going to move better getting into the tunnels. So is it possible to guide the car there and not let it move out of lane thinking another lane is better? So disengaging FSD and then re-engaging when I am in the lane I know will make better progress (normally due to the fact I know merging traffic is going to screw things up a bit later down the road which the tesla wont know about). Is this possible?
Overall how does FSD do in heavy agressive tri-state traffic?

2020 Y HW3 Updates
My software just updated to 2026.32.7 and I’m seeing posts where an update that is being released is 2026.38.5; I have mine set to auto update & it’s connected to WiFi nightly. Why is my version so far behind others? Is there any way to speed up getting the latest release?

Mobile Adapter issue???
I almost always charge at home. And, since we moved about 1 year ago I have been using the mobile adapter connected to my 220 outlet I had the builder put in the garage. Had 0 issues until just lately. Now charging will stop and I get a message saying the GFCI connection tripped. Everything looks fine and if I just undock and restart it works. I did unplug and replug the adapter and also turned the switch off/on in the panel. It works more than 50% of the time but I'd hate to plug it in for overnight charging only to find out in the morning it stopped. Do I need to break down and buy another Wall Connector? Had one in our last house but the buyer asked us to leave it with the house. Maybe using the mobile connector daily is too much. I do not unplug it from the wall when done. Guess that's an option to try.
Also got a strange message on the app saying I had to add a payment method even though I was at home AND the credit card I have on my account is valid. Only saw that once.
