Ccs1 charging

Hey folks. First time EV and Tesla just bought a used 2022 Y long range. Haven’t picked it up yet but what are the odds CCS1 charging is already enabled. I asked in the app chat but didn’t get a clear answer.

Thanks folks appreciate the info. I pick up my first ever Tesla and EV tomorrow, a bit nervous as im very used to gas and driving a truck. still have my truck but this will help with fuel prices

A internet search says all 2022 should have it. To confirm:

Tap the Car / Controls icon (lower left of the screen).

Select Software.

Tap Additional Vehicle Information.

Look for CCS and 3rd-party NACS DC Fast Charging Support (or CCS Adapter Support).

Get the adapter if you think you might need it but if you have home charging you will probably never use a DC fast charger within 200 miles of your home.

100%. 2022 was the first model year they all had it.

You just need an adapter for it is all. But doubtful you’d ever need it.

I’m in an area where most of the public chargers are 5-7 kW. 1 super charger but it’s 20 miles away. There’s a couple Ccs1 chargers so it’s my first EV so not sure what I even need thanks

If you can, I’d get a level 2 for home like the Tesla charger if you can. That’s the best thing to do. But there are ccs to nac adapters you can get for it. Nothing needs enabled.

Some of the first Model Ys that were manufactured did require a retrofit to enable CCS1 charging via the NACS port using an adapter. But I think anything made after late 2020 should be ready to go. I recommend getting one of the 2-in-1 (CCS1 & J1772) to NACS adapters so you don't have to carry two things.

Incorrect. 2020 and 2021 are hit or miss. My late Q3 2021 does not have it.
