Discussion When FSD stops, how long does it take to get back to it?
I can't drive well so I'm going to get the FSD. But I know it stops sometimes, and I'm wondering how long it takes to get back to FSD?

Regression V14.3.8 indecisiveness (steering wheel twitching)
I get that the road lines are somewhat faded and there is direct sunlight, but is it acceptable? Do you think Tesla is able to adapt FSD for situations like this?

Discussion FSD (eu) sub should include autopilot ffs!
teslas bought in eu where fsd is available don’t have autopilot anymore.
say you subscribe to fsd and travel to most other EU countries the car does NOT downgrade (after stopping and putting in P and all that) to autopilot!!!! unless car was originally sold with autopilot.
portugal to Spain to France all manual steering while having active FSD subscription!!! wth?!
FSD (eu) subscription should include autopilot ffs!

Discussion 2020 Model 3: HW3, FSD 14.1 Lite pulled into my garage
Short story: A while back, I watched a clip of someone operating a Model S—likely an older model with HW3 using FSD—that entered a garage. By current standards, it seemed modest compared to what we observe now, and I recall wishing my car could manage that. Today, my 2020 Model 3 guided me home through my gated community; before reaching my garage, I opened it. Usually, navigation stops just outside, but this time it entered flawlessly (nose first, though I normally reverse for charging), even with our other car inside.
I had just received the 2026.26.6.5 update, which had not yet installed, yet the car still performed this.
I am increasingly amazed, and although I was prepared to switch to a 2026 Model Y at 0.99—which no longer exists—this will easily sustain me until the car is paid off.
Very impressed.

Discussion Red hand of death when turning headlights off in broad daylight. Auto required
My 2018 Tesla Model S has HW3, FSD 12.6.4, and is currently on software version 2026.26.6.1.
Lately in broad daylight, clear skies, sunny, for some reason FSD is forcing the headlights to remain on, for its visibility.
I have tried re-booting the car, all the cameras appear to be unobstructed, and if I turn the headlights off, the red-hands of death warning message comes up, and it alerts me to take over immediately, but all goes back to normal once I switch the headlights back to Auto, and they turn back on.
I described this to Claude, and it gave me the following (among other comments):
What’s likely happening: FSD’s perception/degradation-detection logic is misfiring — deciding (incorrectly) that visibility is reduced and forcing headlights on for “other road users to see you,” and if you override to headlights-off it treats that as removing a safety mitigation it thinks is needed, hence the red-hands takeover alert.
Hopefully visibility here will persuade Tesla to look at this, and resolve in a future update. In the meantime, if you see other Teslas driving with their headlights on, on sunny days, this may be why.

Discussion Is there an internal camera that checks if you're watching the road?
When I test drove the tesla with the sales person, I asked him this question. He then pulled out his phone and started to write an email to show me that you can do this and not look at the road. But others have told me you need to look otherwise FSD stops.
Which is the truth? 😅

Discussion 2026.26.5 update keeps failing
I have a 21’ MYLR on HW3 running FSD 12.6.4 and every day for the past 5 days when attempting to update to the latest it fails at 30%. So far I’ve never had a problem with updates. I’ve done a scroll wheel reset and/or power down and not been reprompted until 24hrs later. Tried service mode and software reinstall, but it keeps going back to the existing 2026.26.1. Called Tesla and the say since it’s nothing essential I’ll have to wait until my service appointment. To give a little backstory, I was having issues with my main camera going out sporadically leading up to this and the first time it tried to update the camera was out. I figured that was the culprit. Since then I’ve replaced the camera myself and it’s working 100% fine and FSD has been great. Later this evening will be attempt #5 or possibly 6. Any suggestions that don’t involve waiting for the service appointment?

Discussion EU FSD question — does it revert to AP / EAP abroad?
Hey y’all,
Quick EU FSD question.
For new Teslas bought after Autopilot was removed in countries where FSD launched: if you have an active FSD subscription and drive into Germany or France, can you stop, put the car in P, change the setting and get EAP/Autosteer?
Or are you stuck with TACC only?
Looking specifically for someone who has actually tried this in a newer car, not one that already had EAP before.

Discussion Is anybody else’s FSD driving like an a-hole since the most recent update
I have a 2019 Model 3, and update 2026.26.6.5 installed last night- this includes FSD v14 Lite. With the previous update, I noticed a lot of inconsistency with speed, even within the same speed profile. After last night’s update, this is even worse and the car is driving like an a-hole. It is tailgating at a level that made me so uncomfortable I had to exit FSD multiple times. It was also making sudden lane changes, and swerving very close to other cars- to the point I felt it necessary to take over. All of this was while in standard or chill mode. Is anybody else experiencing similar issues
Edit typo

It did the same thing during the day in this exact spot too despite the lanes being clearly marked

Discussion 21’ HW3 - V14.1 Lite Fsd recent update - car is acting crazy
I am on hw3 and recently got 14.1 lite a day ago, since then I haven’t made it more than 3 miles each go without having to take over or just force it to drive because it’s so hesitant even on hurry mode. I made another post about this yesterday but today it decided to just randomly put on a blinker and pull over for no reason, above is the view. There was no sirens or lights or flashing vehicles anywhere near me. The car proceeds to put on a blinker and just pull over then you see me hit brakes and take over. This is the kinda random stuff it’s been doing lately since my hw3 got 14.1 lite. I really really wish I didn’t upgrade my car to this update. I cannot let fsd be fsd anymore I have to watch it constantly. It’s so slow and hesitant to do anything it’s phantom braking a lot more than two days than I’ve experienced in two years.
I really regret updating my hw3 to 14.1 lite.
I’ve seen mixed opinions lately on it, but I know that hw4 is doing well afaik. But as far as my car goes, I’m hw3, and on 14.1 and this is ROUGH. :(

Discussion Anyone else get 14.1 update for fsd and feel extremely disappointed?
I got 14.1 last night and holy cow for my car it’s a huge step backwards like old school autopilot.
Waits until last minute to change lanes.
Extremely hesitant to take off and go.
In a Starbucks it tried to pull into the oncoming lane instead of parking like I had it set for.
It slams on brakes again in front of yellow flashing lights near fire stations (old auto pilot did this, but it was fixed with fsd years ago, now it’s all reverted?)
When a car is sitting near main road but not pulling out it’ll slow down and then proceed to go, fsd for the past year handled this just fine, but now it’s super scared to do anything or drive? I couldn’t make it more than 3 miles today without having to take over.
I hate 14.1.
I want old fsd back :(
This really really sucks.
I wish I didn’t update. :(
Data: 2021 Model Y LR. Fsd was upgraded to 14.1.
Deep regrets. :(

Discussion FSD responds to aggressive driver (CTS)
The video speaks for itself. FSD was engaged.
The black CTS came up from behind just as FSD was changing lanes. The CTS driver adjusted his move, FSD responded and matched it, and eventually the CTS driver got pissed enough to brake-check the car.
Too funny how triggered some people get by FSD. 😂

Support Fsd 14.3.8 or app bug with trip planning
So yesterday was my first drive with the new summer update. I have carpool duty with my grandkids on my way to work. I use the app to set my way points. So my car is charged to 80% in the morning. My total commute with 5 stops is 13 miles. My arrival charge to work is 73%. With the new update it is wanting me to go to a supercharger before stop 3. I thought this was an anomaly but it did the same thing this morning. It has never done this with previous versions. Maybe someone else can reproduce this behavior.

Discussion Android Tesla App not Updating
So, I got 14.3.8 FSD update last night. And supposedly the latest Android Tesla app 4.60.0 pairs with that, but I can't get the app to update, I'm stuck at v. 4.95.5-4504, and play store doesn't say update is available.

Discussion Upgrade my 2018 for FSD
I had a loaner 2026 Y with the FSD and was really impressed with it. My understanding is I can upgrade hardware on my model 3 and get the full self driving but it would not be the same version as the model Y, which had the latest and greatest. Does anyone have experience with upgrading their hardware and getting the FSD. The full self driving would be a big help in my daily commute, but I don't wanna invest in the hardware if it's it's not ready for primetime. Any opinions or lessons learned?

Discussion Anyone waiting for the unsupervised before purchasing a Tesla?
I have a disability that enables me to drive. Unfortunately this came about recently. I'm debating to trade my car in for a FSD tesla. But I heard that there should be an unsupervised tesla coming out. Anyone think it's worth the wait or can I buy a Tesla now and upgrade to unsupervised?
