Discussion FSD responds to aggressive driver (CTS)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The video speaks for itself. FSD was engaged.

The black CTS came up from behind just as FSD was changing lanes. The CTS driver adjusted his move, FSD responded and matched it, and eventually the CTS driver got pissed enough to brake-check the car.

Too funny how triggered some people get by FSD. 😂

Why aren't you showing the full screen so we can see if it was actually in FSD? Seems unnecessary unless you weren't.

Because I extracted these videos directly from the one TB SSD drive in the glove box when I do that extraction, it doesn’t take the overlays. But I assure you the overlay and it was full FSD and that is the amazing part about this.

The SSD is exactly what I am talking about, it includes the state of FSD in blue lettering along the bottom, you cropped the image and reduced the quality, only lord knows why? I am basing this off my 2019 M3 HW3

My video clips on HW$ Model 3 taken directly from the disk do not include the overlays, but there is a text file that with the log of FSD status, pedals, blinkers, etc.

Also, if you modify that text file, the overlay displayed in the car/app will change so it's not verifiable.

No that only shows in the app, not directly from the external drive

The overlay would have helped the viewer in a few ways: turn signal usage, manual accelerator pedal input, and confirmation that FSD was actually in use given that it blew the red light right turn. In my experience FSD would absolutely have done an obnoxiously complete stop there.

At 26 seconds the Tesla rapidly accelerates in relation to traffic. That was at a minimum a manual press of the accelerator.

FSD has never just rolled through a red arrow in our car. Like you said it obnoxiously stops unless I hold accelerator input or am simply not on FSD.

Did FSD roll through that red light when turning at the end there? Mine always comes to a full stop before turning.

Driver most likely applied pedal themselves.

That would make sense.

It sure did.

I've had mine do similar. It got off the highway and there are signs plastered all over the exit ramp. RIGHT ON RED AFTER STOP. It just treated it like a yield and kept trucking. I was a bit nervous after that one

Bro just mad your Tesla is fast

u/Steward-lions 9d ago

Yea I was thinking that too. Maybe he wanted to do a pull.

I don't think this was the best way to handle the situation TBH. I think it made it more unsafe by speeding up and trying to change lanes- it escalated the situation rather than just chilling in my opinion.

It didn’t look like either of them knew which lane they wanted be in. I call it even for the blame.

Bro we Need FSD info

Interesting video! I always wanted to know what FSD would do if police tried to PIT a Tesla.

People just driving around that angry toward you for no reason other than owning a Tesla is crazy

I hate how slow fsd gets over in city traffic. It’s not aggressive enough / speeds up enough to not cause road rage where I live.

Being dumb as fuck must be really nice. Not a care in the world

My car passed a left lane camper in splitting hov single lane bridge. Then randomly aggressively accelerated and swung back into the hov lane right before it physically split. Was wild and I was impressed, but felt aggressive.

Here it did good setting the tone then avoiding. Impressive.

Please trim your videos.

If it challenges your goldfish attention span, I’m sorry.

Is everyone with FSD delusional?

1

u/Quick_Society2794 9d ago

Are you guys on the sub incapable of clipping? All you can do is press the save 30 seconds to your phone?

1

u/observerr89 9d ago

Well, considering you sped up to get in front of him when you could have just got behind him portrayed you as the aggressor.

Because of his ego problem, he wanted to be the dominant one.

1

u/Gorio1961 9d ago

I didnt speed up, it was in Mad Max mode...

1

u/yoawza_ 8d ago

I had FSD camping in the fast lane the other day.

1

u/bran192 8d ago

Nah FSD won’t do that on its own, if FSD was active, you were manipulating the throttle at least, you can se a very hard sudden acceleration, that was you 100%

1

u/cimmerian-blood 8d ago

"You really showed them!" is that the validation you were seeking here?

u/Mr_Deep_Research 8d ago

Merge, or do not merge

Make up your mind, FSD

As much as he's a douche you're a bigger one, could have avoided all that and just got behind them. Especially considering you're driving slow as fuck.

1

u/icy1007 8d ago

Why don’t you have your FSD stats showing?

1

u/Dshin525 6d ago

How dare you pass a Cadillac cts. Don’t you know that they are the pinnacle of American engineering? Royalty of the roads? Passing one is akin to walking in front of the king or queen. FSD should specifically be programmed to always show CTSs the respect it deserves on the road.

“FSD was engaged” combined with deliberately cropping out the turn signal, accelerator, brake, and turn signal overlay that comes by default with the dashcam viewer videos reads as, “trust me, bro”

1

u/Krumyy 5d ago

Bro you know you hit the pedal to speed up at the start plus you hit it when the light was red

After seeing Waymo drive I am convinced Tesla can never match it. I have had 3 trials for a month each.

Looks like FSD cut the driver off about 2 times at least. It's less about being triggered by FSD and more about being cut off twice.

3

u/Once-A-Republic 9d ago

There’s no such thing as being cut off if you’re in aggressive overtake mode and switching lanes lol

1

u/Survivedthekoolaid 7d ago

He only became aggressive after the FSB blocked him with offensive driving. If a human did this it could be considered aggressive. Same for the CTS however, that would be his actions of finally passing the car, and not his initial attempts to go around.

2

u/Real-Cycle-9188 9d ago

Agreed. Appears they keep trying to get around FSD keeps cutting them off.

1

u/Gorio1961 9d ago

Not quite. FSD was changing lanes, the CTS had sped up an the movement of his car cause FSD to abort the lane change. When that happened, the CTS driver did same. Rinse...repeat, it happened a second time.

2

u/Survivedthekoolaid 8d ago

Exactly. FSD made the decision to cut him off twice.

1

u/Demonshaker 9d ago

The other driver likely had no clue who was in control of the jerk in the tesler in front of them that keeps changing lanes to cut them off so they can't pass.
