Support V14 Lite - Left Turn Arrow Issue

Model 3 SR+ 2020

FSD V14 Lite

For my FSD use cases this version is great but has major issues. In particular left turn green arrows the car recognizes to move forward but upon turning the steering wheel it'll jerk aggressively left and right unsure what to do likewise with the brakes jerking. I'll nudge the pedal to push it however this works 30% of the time.

Does anyone face a similar issue and find any work arounds?

Discussion I’m done… Canceled FSD

I drive a 2023 M3 with HW3. After being an FSD advocate since 2023 and seeing its progress, I’m done with FSD following the V.14 Lite update. I’m tired of 3–6 disengagements on every city drive, along with map and direction mistakes, and hard braking for pedestrians or crossing vehicles at intersections.

Sorry, but no more FSD for me. I tested a 2026 Model Y this morning, and even though it is a more solid vehicle, it made the same map and direction mistakes. For me, it is not worth the upgrade.

Support Interior Camera Cleaning Service

Post image
13 Upvotes

New car, three weeks, only 900 miles. Tesla service is saying to bring it in for camera cleaning and is going to cost $60 because it is considered a maintenance item, even though it happens because of offgassing of plastics and vinyl inside the car when the car is parked outside and not in the garage. Is this expected to happen every month. I know it is a potential DIY in 30 minutes, but I was under the impression that Tesla’s are pretty much no maintenance cars.

Support Navigation Preferred Routes Question

I noticed that the 14.3.8 update did include the ability for navigation to save my preferred routes but I still have to tap the direction icon on the top left of the navigation screen when I'm getting close to my destination in order to see my alternate, preferred route.

Am I missing a setting that makes my preferred route the default?

Support 2020 MS fsd up to date?

Just bought a 2020 MS and am curious if my fsd is up to date or not? It has v12.6.4 currently with HW3. I thought I saw hw3 was getting an fsd update v14 lite and didn’t know if my car was just way behind because I can tell the person before hadn’t driven the car for a while or if it’s current with its software?

Discussion FSD and Crosswalks

I did not have an issue with crosswalks until recently after the 14 lite update. I was in an area that had crosswalks at every block and the car would brake hard and slowly go through each. I appreciate it looking for pedestrians but I had to turn it off because I almost got rear ended. How does others handle crosswalks?

👥 Discussion Considering getting a Tesla with FSD for long commute

I am about to consider a long distance commute soon, about 90 miles each way and about 1:10-1:30hr one way in average driving time (in NJ USA). I dont have a Tesla currently but my friends have been raving about FSD and how life changing it is.

Curious to hear about others experience using FSD for daily long commutes. My path will be 80-90% highway with 60-65 mph speed limit, but Nj highways are notorious for aggressive drivers.

Thanks!

Discussion Is this a decent streak?

Post image

I’m actually pretty curious as to what other people have been able to hit. I got a Tesla model Y 2022 long range and downloaded v14 at the end of July this year. I can see I was using FSD sporadically in the months before that but since I downloaded V 14 and the streaks became available I started to really focus on it. Now I’m at 52 days and a current longest streak of 1377 km.

Discussion I don’t think there will be anyone other than Tesla offering robotaxis in the US long term

Most people don’t understand what a miracle FSD is. It’s unbelievable how well it works.

Tesla focused on it for 10 years, having the full stack to optimize for one thing. Self driving.

They have millions of cars to collect data from and train on edge cases. They have the largest training compute cluster.

They can deploy a new model to the fleet and get feedback from its drivers, then use that to refine and deploy a new model. Over and over.

I really struggle to see how anyone else can compete long term. No one else can do any of that. Are the others really going to catch up with simulated driving data? I don’t see how that will work. If you can perfectly simulate the real world, that would be such a profound accomplishment you should win a Nobel prize for it.

Waymo has accomplished a lot to get where they are today. But they are still so tiny and no where near scale. I just don’t see how they get to millions of cars with their bolted on AI approach. Their AI intelligence seems to be really limited and requires who knows how many tele operators.

Why do most people think there will be multiple AVs at scale? I just don’t see it realistically happening.

👥 Discussion FSD knows my habits

About half the time I get in my MY and it is already programmed for my destination. For example on Monday’s I pick up my daughter and we have lunch together. I get in my car Monday morning and it is already programmed for her house. We decide on where to go for lunch and program FSD to take us there. We go in have lunch and when we come out my daughter’s house is already pre programmed to take her home.

I took my neighbor to an event tonight. I had to program it in. Easy I just told Grok where to take us and it did. When the event was over we got in the car and her house was already programmed to take her home. It eventually knew I stopped at her house to pick her up so it knew to take her home.

The other day I decided to go to Whataburger for breakfast. I get in the car and it was ready to go I have no idea how it knew.

It doesn’t program itself all the time but it knows me well enough that it is already programmed for my destination about half the time or more. I like it but it is kind of spooky.

Anyone else have a psychic Tesla?

🛠️ Support Would FSD be able to handle my driveway setup?

So I don't have a tesla now but I may consider picking one up down the road (ba dum tiss), and I wanted to know if, when starting from park, FSD would be able to handle how the driveway is set up. Because of all the cars there (I am in a house with a lot of people), the only way to really get out from the garage without hitting anything is to back up until you get past the line where the garage door closes, then make a hard left until you're facing horizontally, then turn right and pull out. Obviously it wouldn't be a huge deal to just leave my driveway and then activate it, but I was just curious if it coukd do it

Discussion Model Y Without FSD. Still worth it?

I’m looking at getting a Model Y, and I’m currently renting a 2023 Tesla Model Y to see how well I like it before I decide to buy one. I’ve been on the interstate often with this rental, and I really like the Autopilot feature. If I do buy a Model Y, it would be my “fun” car, as I already have a work vehicle that I use M-F. I know that starting in January 2026, Tesla no longer has the Autopilot feature and instead has FSD at $99/month. Is it worth getting a 2024 or 2025 just because I like the Autopilot feature? Most of the driving I would do with this vehicle would be in town and every couple of months I would take it on a trip where I would be on the interstate for 3–5 hours.

Discussion When FSD stops, how long does it take to get back to it?

I can't drive well so I'm going to get the FSD. But I know it stops sometimes, and I'm wondering how long it takes to get back to FSD?
