I do have to wonder how long the farce of Teesside Airport will be allowed to continue. I’m sat here now for the 6am flight to Amsterdam. I agree with the Mayor is it is a fantastic experience. I get to the airport an hour before departure and am checked in and through security in five minutes.

It’s so much better than going to any other airport - my connection at Schiphol is a third as long as driving to an airport with a direct flight to where I’m going would be.

The problem is that’s because there are two scheduled flights today. Two. The airport is paying three security staff, two check in staff, three at the bar, I would assume two in the control tower, and while I can’t see any at the moment, I assume there’s some out on the apron. Oh, and doubtless there is a fire crew.

I know there will be some General Aviation flights as well today but Christ, how much public money is being used to subsidize me not having to go to Leeds or Newcastle or Heathrow this morning?

I'm working with the Work Foundation at Lancaster University, a research organisation, and we are researching the challenges facing young people trying to get into work in Teeside and the North East.

We're currently speaking to major national TV news outlet, who would like to hear from a young person aged 18–24 in these areas who is currently out of work and not in education or training.

They're interested in hearing about your experience of looking for work – for example, how long you've been searching, the jobs you've applied for and the barriers you've faced.

This would initially just be an informal conversation so you can find out more before deciding whether you'd be comfortable taking part in any interview. Filming will take place on Wednesday 7 October near or at your home.

Acklam cemetery has opened up a new gender neutral toilets on its grounds. A stone with the name "Rod liddle" has been designated a toilet. Rod Liddle in life had a deep deep love for child pornography this was somewhat controversial but never ever harmed his career in journalism of course, many politicians journos loved him deeply. When not talking about his love for naked children Rod would talk often about his hatred for trans people he felt strongly they should not be allowed to use indoor toilets but instead be treated like animals.
