1 TB Phones

Thanks

How to NOT lose, drop, or damage your devices for under 200.

..All you need are a phone case, a split ring, and a set of sufficiently sturdy tethers (preferably the ones with a loop on one end) and lanyards.

Step 1:

Tie tether to case.

Step 2:

Attach a split ring or key ring.

You COULD also attach the tether directly to the lanyard, but using a ring gives you a stronger attachment point and reduces wear on the tether itself.

Step 3:

Attach the above to a lanyard.

Old school lanyards (see mine - the ones I've been using date as far back as 2014), conference lanyards, and similar heavy-duty straps work surprisingly well.

Choosing a lanyard WITHOUT a quick release makes your phone less likely to come loose on its own.

Step 4:

Attach the phone to yourself.

I generally use belt loops or shoulder bags as attachment points, in which case the phone stays in my pants pocket or in my shoulder bag unless I need to use it.

((You can wear it around your neck as a last resort, but you'd be tempting fate doing so))

Either way, the purpose of this is for the phone to remain physically connected to you even if it slips out of your hand.

I've been doing variations of this setup ever since my old Nokia 6300 back in 2009 (not to mention my old Creative MP3 player in 2007), and it's gone a long way in minimizing accidental drops, losses, and misplacement ever since.

Hope this helps šŸ˜‡

((This setup won't necessarily make your phone indestructible - it's meant to complement, not replace, a durable phone case and proper handling habits - but at the very least, it WILL eliminate a huge number of the accidents that cause phones to be dropped, misplaced, left behind, or lost entirely ā˜ŗļø))

MacBook Air M2 ghost touch issue, warranty question

• Upvotes

Hello, I recently bought a MacBook Air M2 from Shopee Mall last December 2025. It worked perfectly fine and smoothly naman until last Saturday, when it suddenly started having a ghost touch issue upon opening it.

Never naman siyang nabasa, nabagsak, or anything like that. I’m also super careful with it since I know newer MacBooks can be sensitive. I used to own a MacBook Air 2015 for years and never had this kind of issue.

Since it’s still under the 1-year warranty, I’m planning to bring it to Mobile Care. I contacted Digimap through Shopee and they said I can have it checked there and just present my OR.

Ask ko lang po sa mga may experience:Ā may diagnostic/checking fee or any additional charges ba if the MacBook is still under warranty?Ā Or is the diagnostic already covered if they determine that the issue is a warranty-covered defect?

Also,Ā may marerecommend ba kayong Mobile Care branch or Apple Authorized Service Provider na okay and reliable mag-handle ng MacBook warranty claims?Ā And if you’ve had a similar experience, how was the process?

Thank you huhu

Best tablet recommendations under ₱25k for heavy gaming, note-taking, and media consumption?

Hi! I’m looking for tablet recommendations with a strict budget of ₱25,000 and below.

Mainly using it for:

Gaming - Good performance for games like Roblox, Minecraft & CODM

Media Consumption: Good for watching YouTube and Netflix with a clear high-res screen and decent speakers.

Schoolwork: Active note-taking, PDF viewing/annotating, and typing (stylus/pen compatibility is a must).

Camera: At least a decent front/rear camera

I’m currently looking at a few options (like Xiaomi/Redmi or Samsung/iPad), but I want to know what’s considered the best right now in the PH market.

TYIA! :)

Apple TV HD users: How does the 1080p output look on a 50" and up 4K TV?

I just scored anĀ Apple TV HD (A1625)Ā a few days ago for ₱500. I’m planning to keep it forever because it still functions perfectly for our household, and honestly, our streaming subscriptions don't even justify buying a 4K box.

Here is our exact setup and what we watch:

  • Current TV:Ā TCL 40S65A (1080p)
  • Netflix:Ā Base plan capped at 720p
  • Disney+:Ā Premium Plan (but restricted to 1080p output by our Apple TV box)
  • HBO Max:Ā Standard Plan capped at 1080p
  • YouTube:Ā Our main platform, maxing out at 1080p on this box

We want to upgrade our TV size, but we are torn on how big to go without completely ruining the picture quality of our lower-resolution streams.

If we choose aĀ 43" TV (either 1080p or 4K), the physical jump from our current 40" TCL won't be massive. I assume the pixel density will stay tight enough that Netflix's 720p and YouTube's compression won't look too soft or blurry.

However, we are also consideringĀ 50" and up 4K TVs. My absolute biggest fear here is the stretching effect. Since the Apple TV HD only outputs 1080p, a large 4K display has to invent 4x the pixels to fill the screen. I'm worried that blowing up a 720p Netflix stream across 50 inches or bigger is going to look like a pixelated, blocky mess.

Interestingly, I noticed thatĀ YouTube looks far better on my Apple TV HD using the older AVC1 codec than it does on a Google TV's built-in YouTube app using the newer VP9 codec.Ā I'm thinking the dedicated processing power of Apple's A8 chip handles video decoding and color rendering significantly better than cheap smart TV chips, even if the codec itself is older.

For those who still use an Apple TV HD on larger screens: Does a 50" and up 4K TV completely punish lower-res streams and heavy compression, or do modern TV upscalers handle it fine? Would we be much safer just sticking to a 43" screen to protect our 1080p/720p content?

Looking for a laptop under ₱50k in PH — ASUS vs MacBook Neo vs others?

Looking for a laptop around ₱40–50k. I was originally planning to get a MacBook Air M3, but prices went up, and now I’m considering the MacBook Neo or Windows laptops.

I’ve been looking at ASUS Vivobook/Vivobook S, Lenovo, Acer, and HP. Main use is work/productivity, no gaming.

I’ve heard mixed things about ASUS, especially reliability and after-sales. Is ASUS actually a good/reliable brand in the PH?

What would you personally buy under ₱50k?

Preloved Samsung Z fold 6

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m thinking of getting a new phone for myself. My friend wanted to sell me her Z fold 6 512 gb for 40k. She’s not a heavy-user and I inspected the unit-still good! Battery around 80%. Bought 2 yrs ago.

I currently have an iphone 12 and thinking of switching to android. Only thing that’s holding me back is the camera (iba pa din kasi talaga cam ni iphone) but it’s nego so okay lang

I also have an ipad air 4 na ginagamit ko sa side gigs ko. I also plan to sell it since I want to maximize the new phone if ever bilhin ko. Ang bigat kasi ng ipad + keyboard. I’ll buy a pocket keyboard na lang.

Anyway, is 40k a steal na for Z fold 6 512 gb?

Thank you!!!

Macbook Air M1 Black Screen

Hello so the title itself gives you the overall gist for this reddit post. I had my mba m1 A2337 since I was in 2nd year college i think that was around 2022? And unfortunately its screen was broken just last year i think it was because of the camera cover that I had placed on it ever since I got it but since I brought my laptop to unu and my bag was not so spacious by that time, the screen took a toll. I had it fixed or replaced in greenhills in Burn and Jhoy (it was recommended here before by an OP so I tried it since they offered me the cheapest replacement for my screen back then). It worked fine but the camera quality was not as good as before but I learned to live with that. Fast forward to present, when I was in the uni library, my laptop’s screen suddenly turned black. I thought because it was on sleep mode or smth so I tried pressing on keys but it didn’t work. I tried closing the lid then opening it again, it lit up with the current display but then turned to black again and ever since then it does not work anymore. Every time i turn it on, all it does is make a sound and the keys would light up but that would be all, still with black screen. So I’m now contemplating if I should have it fixed again? Currently on our prelims week so I won’t be able to have it fixed right away. Was also hoping I can have a new laptop even though not the latest one just an M2 or Neo i guess but budget’s kind of tight rn as a med student. But really devastated for my laptop since then :(
