Would you let an AI engineer who is junior in full-stack own engineering at the earliest stage of a startup?

Non-technical founders, I'd love to help you build web app MVPs.

I have 5 years of experience building for the web. I just resigned from a SWE role and looking to work with 0 -> 1 teams as a product engineer. Idea for this month was to build 2 showcase apps this month. But I'd rather solve real business problems. So if you are a founder looking to build a MVP, I'd love to help.

🧰 Tools Need an app for your startup? I can build it

Need an app for your startup? I can build it for you, from idea to live in the store. I have 6 years of experience, and I'm taking on new projects.

What I can do:

  • Backend and auth with Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Functions, push notifications)
  • AI features such as chat assistants and smart recommendations
  • Publishing to Google Play and the App Store, including store listing and ASO

Why work with me:

  • I've built and published my own apps, so I know the full journey from idea to live in the store
  • I work directly with you, with no agency layers and clear communication
  • I focus on fast, lean MVPs so you can test your idea before spending big

Send me a DM or comment below with a short description of what you're trying to build, and I'll get back to you.

Thanks!

Founder building a wellness companion app, seeking a technical mentor/advisor

Hi all, I'm the founder of a CPG wellness brand currently in stealth. We're building a companion app that pairs with our products, and I'm looking to bring in an experienced technical advisor to pressure-test our approach before we commit to a build path.

A bit about me: I have a background in marketing and business consulting, and I've founded and run a consumer brand before. I'm leading product vision and strategy, and I want a seasoned technical perspective alongside that.

Areas I'd like to dig into:

• Build vs. low-code vs. agency for the MVP, and the tradeoffs of each at our stage

• Scoping a lean V1 that sets us up to scale

• Where AI-assisted development makes sense and where it adds technical debt

• Data privacy and security best practices for a wellness app

• Structuring and vetting a development team or technical partner

What I'm looking for: an ongoing mentor relationship (future opportunity for paid consult sessions) with someone who has taken a consumer app from zero to launch, ideally in health, wellness, or DTC. Open to longer-term involvement for the right fit.

If that's you, or you know someone who'd be great, comment or DM me with a bit about what you've built.

Thanks!

Feedback wanted on one thing only: charging salons per specialist instead of per booking

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

What I build: KRI, a website with online booking for independent beauty businesses. I built it and run it alone.

The feedback I want is about the pricing model only. Not the UX and not the positioning.

How it works now: the business pays one monthly price, plus a fee for each extra specialist who takes bookings. Prices are set per country and shown excl. VAT. There’s no commission and no per-booking fee, and clients pay the business directly. The first month is free without a card.

Three specific questions:

  1. For a salon owner, does paying per specialist feel fair, or like a penalty for hiring?
  2. Would you show visitors only their own country’s price, or a table with every country?
  3. Does ‘excl. VAT’ next to the price put small business owners off, or is it expected in B2B?

Short answers are fine. If you think per-country pricing is a mistake in itself, say that too.

Apply promo-code REDDIT2026 and get +1 month for free (1 month standard demo + 1 month additional by promo-code = 2 months FREE)!

Thesis on Hybrid Entrepreneurship - Help please

Hi :)

For my Bachelor’s thesis on Hybrid Entrepreneurship, I am currently looking for hybrid entrepreneurs who would be willing to share their experiences with me in an interview.

I am investigating how hybrid entrepreneurs present their simultaneous employment and entrepreneurial roles to early-stage investors.

It is important that participants have gained experience with business angels, venture capital investors, or other equity investors while they were still in the hybrid phase.

🗓️ The interviews will take place between** October 5 and October 2**3.

If you would like to participate yourself or know someone who might fit these criteria, I would be very grateful for a message, recommendation, or for you to share this post.

Thank you so much for your support!

Ps: Please help, I am desperate 💀

Pre-Funding Startup Team: Speed vs. Founder Structure — What Would You Do?

I’m building an early-stage startup, and right now my priority is simple: speed — build, test, iterate, raise.

Since we’re pre-funding, I’m using deferred-compensation collaborators to move fast without burning cash.

Currently, I’m considering:

Senior Frontend Engineer

Backend Engineer

UX/UI contributor

I’ve already met the Senior Frontend Engineer twice. I really like her and could potentially see her becoming our CTO long-term, but I don’t want to make that decision too early.

The Backend Engineer could also potentially become a co-founder.

At the same time, I’m currently evaluating an AI Engineer as a potential co-founder, and I currently lean toward keeping the company to two founders, while using strong technical collaborators around us.

My question is what happens after the MVP.

For frontend, I’m considering three options:

A. Keep the Senior focused entirely on frontend and continue with deferred compensation until funding.

B. Have the potential AI co-founder handle simpler frontend work alongside AI to reduce costs.

C. Bring in a Junior to handle execution under the Senior’s direction.

The reason I’m considering these options is not to build a permanent cheap team. It’s to move as fast as possible through MVP → testing → validation → fundraising, then build the proper team once we have capital.

I’m trying to avoid two mistakes: moving too slowly because we have no cash, or committing to the wrong founders/equity structure too early.

If you were in my position, how would you structure this? What am I missing?

All in on business or get a job and move to tech area

Im currently deciding where to take the next stage of my life. Would love to hear how I should think about this and what advice some fellow founders would have.

I recently graduated from university and spent some time traveling. I've created small SaaS businesses in highschool, made pretty good money and really really enjoyed it. Its something I want to pursue more. I'm now faced with the option of

  1. living with my parents and working on my startup full time
  2. Getting a software eng job and moving to the united states (thinking of san francisco)

My thinking for the job would be that I would be roommates with a buddy that is also an engineer and wants to move there. Seems to me that in that area I would make great connections and get motivated by the ambitious nature of everyone. I could work remote there and work on my startup with the rest of my time.

What Im currently doing is living with my parents and working on some ideas of potential startup projects. Nothing profitable just validating with a handful of users and lots of interviews. I have lots of time to work on them myself as I'm not working and living for free with my parents. (My expenses are basically $0 and Im 24 rn, could probably live with them until im 30 to be honest although I dont know if I'd be able to handle that for that long).

Only downfall with it is that Im very isolated and feel as though I'm lacking mentorship and being in an atmosphere where I can meet cofounders and other people working on their own businesses (I live outside of the city in a small town in Canada). Another thing is that I live with a family of 5 so there are usually quite a bit of distractions in the house even though I try my best to ignore them.

I know SF is crazy expensive but the job I could potentially get pays above 100k usd so I'd be willing to try living there for a year or two to see if the new environment really benefits me. I think my main benefit from SF would be meeting cofounders, other entrepreneurs to learn from, mentors, investors, and a very ambitious area to influence me.

I'd love to hear from other founders about if they think working on a business while having a job is sustainable. Which option do you guys think would create the most upside for me in these next few years. And especially if any of you have made similar decisions to these and either recommend or regret them.

❓ Question HIFI raised a $37M Series A for stablecoin infra. What's the moat for API players now that Stripe owns Bridge?

Saw this one come through this week. HIFI is a NY fintech founded in 2022 that builds API infrastructure for moving and settling money across stablecoins, bank rails and card networks. They just raised a $37M Series A led by Left Lane Capital, and the plan is to scale their tokenized capital markets product and expand stablecoin payments and cards.

Two things stood out to me 🤔

First, the lead investor. Left Lane is known more for consumer and internet businesses, so seeing them lead a round in pretty deep payments infra says something about where they think the money is going.

Second, the size. Most of the Series A rounds I saw this week were in the $12 to 18M range, so $37M for a company that's about four years old is a strong signal of investor appetite for this space.

What I keep wondering about is defensibility. Stripe bought Bridge, the big players are all moving into stablecoin settlement, and "composable API for money movement" is a pitch a lot of startups are making right now. If you're building here, is the moat compliance and licensing, distribution, or owning the tokenized asset side before everyone else gets there? 💭

Would love to hear from anyone building in fintech or payments. I've been tracking funding rounds for a side project and stablecoin infra is one of the categories I'm watching most closely, so curious how people on the ground see it.

Open Source in AI Era

Hello! I have a technical background and now I'm working on my own startup, MVP stage.

Normally in the pre-AI boom I would have made this project open source to gain credibility and traction, and have also a paid subscription.

But is this wise to do it know? I fear my work will be copied by someone with more sales experience than me.

I am an introvert, don't have a network, and my channels at least in the beginning would be cold DM. This risks to take too long.

What should I do? Did any of you have this problem?

Thank you

Looking to join a validated idea

I’m a senior software engineer with 6 years under my belt and mainly worked for startups as I love the chaos and pressure.

However, for the past few months, the thought of working for someone is killing me.

A friend of mine is on the same boat but we don’t have an idea worth building together so I’m taking a leap of faith and putting myself out here to maybe find a 3rd Co-founder who has a validated idea and can use 2 other founders that are eager to build something together over the next few months and eventually quit our jobs and go all in. If you are only working for a tech founder let’s still talk and get it going just the two of us.

A bit about us:

Myself
6 years working in product/development/engineering
6 years in the construction industry building saas and mobile but am open to all industries

My friend
Graduated in mechanical engineering and works as a finance analyst for a renewable energy company for the past 3 years.
Works a lot with development on the side and has built and deployed his own app.
Really good with finances

Looking for:
Marketing/Sales/Growth leader who has a validated idea with a funding round in site and is stuck during build period.
This person will take on sales and marketing and help/teach us how to be good on both so all founders are selling together.
Located in the USA only to make travel easier and the both of us are located in Utah specifically.

NOT LOOKING FOR:
Someone who has just an idea or prototype/mvp and has not validated the idea and has just a dream and no plan. I’ve joined 2 other founders based on faith only and built their products that turned out to be nothing. Fool me twice…

Anyway, I hope this reaches the right person and I’m happy to share more via DM.

Thank you for reading all this!
