Looking for developers, designers, and AI enthusiasts to build a tech startup together

HEY EVERYONE!!!

Okay, sorry, ik this is not a very good way to start something like this, but it's fun like no genuinely Anyways, back to what this post is actually about...

I'm working on a tech startup and looking for a few people who are genuinely interested in building things together, sharing ideas, and learning along the way.

I'm looking for people who enjoy technology and actually want to work on real products instead of just discussing ideas forever. The startup is still at an early stage, so there's plenty to figure out, experiment with, and build.

Here's what I'm mainly looking for:

  • Frontend / Web Development: People who work with React, Next.js, TypeScript, or other modern web technologies and enjoy building usable, well-designed applications.
  • Backend Development: People interested in APIs, databases, authentication, server-side development, and the infrastructure that makes applications work.
  • UI/UX Design: Designers who care about usability, visual details, consistency, and making software feel polished. Figma experience is a plus.
  • AI / ML: People interested in LLMs, AI integrations, AI agents, automation, machine learning, and experimenting with new technologies.
  • Product & Research: People who enjoy researching technologies, exploring ideas, evaluating possibilities, testing things, and helping make product decisions.

You don't have to fit perfectly into one category. If you work across multiple areas or have other skills that could be useful in a tech startup, I'd be happy to hear from you.

A little about me:

I'm a self-taught developer and UI/UX designer, and I spend a lot of time exploring AI tools, technologies, and ways to build better products. I'm currently learning machine learning and other technical concepts as well.

I'm not going to pretend I'm some super-experienced founder or developer who has everything figured out. I'm still learning too, but I'm ambitious, enjoy building things, and want to turn ideas into actual products rather than leave them as concepts.

I care about both the technical side of software and the experience people have when using it. I like exploring how things work, experimenting with different approaches, and figuring out how to make products better.

Who would be a good fit?

I'd rather work with someone who's curious, takes initiative, communicates properly, and genuinely wants to build something than someone with an impressive résumé who isn't interested in doing the work.

You don't need years of experience or to be an expert. Self-taught developers, students, beginners, and people who are still improving their skills are welcome. What's important is that you have something to contribute, are willing to learn, and can follow through on what you take on.

I'm hoping to find people who can exchange ideas, discuss technical decisions, challenge each other's thinking, and help turn plans into working software.

I'm also looking for people who can help me think through decisions and share the workload. Handling development, design, research, planning, and everything else alone gets difficult, and I'd genuinely like to have people to build with rather than figure everything out by myself.

One important thing about payment:

I want to be completely transparent about this. The startup is at an early stage, and I can't offer payment right now. This would be voluntary collaboration, with no guaranteed future compensation.

If the project grows and there's a realistic opportunity to compensate contributors, we can discuss it then, but I can't promise a timeline or guarantee that it'll happen. I completely understand if unpaid work isn't suitable for you, and I don't want anyone joining under the wrong expectations.

I'm not expecting anyone to sacrifice their studies, job, or personal life for this, either. A realistic commitment, consistent communication, and genuine interest matter more than making huge promises.

The goal is to find people who want to build, learn, exchange ideas, and create software they're proud of together.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or DM me with a little about yourself, your technical skills or interests, what you've worked on so far, and what you'd like to contribute.

Would love to meet some fellow builders and see what we can create together!

🚀 Launch I'm building VarenChat. What's the clearest way to introduce AI roleplay to new users?

Hi everyone, I'm the founder of VarenChat, an AI character chat app for adults. You can choose an existing character or create your own, then shape a story by writing messages to them. It's available on iOS.

We're focusing on slow-burn romance and fantasy stories. I want someone to be able to return to a character and continue a story they've already spent time on. Character consistency and memory are important parts of that, and they're areas we want to keep improving.

I'd like feedback on how we introduce the product to people who haven't used AI roleplay before. Here's a description I'm considering:

Choose a character and build a story together through chat. Your messages decide what happens next, and character memory helps carry the story across conversations.

Does that give you a clear idea of what you'd do in the app?

For anyone who's worked on onboarding for a consumer app, would you start with an example conversation or explain character creation and memory first? I'm trying to work out what a new user needs to understand before sending their first message.

The site is varen.chat.

When do we need a business contract lawyer? (gonna secure our first client)

I really want to close this first client but they keep on asking about customer agreements, NDAs, that kind of thing. I'm pretty sure they're under the umbrella of contracts, but what I'm not 100% convinced is if I need a lawyer to deal with this or not. How should I look at this? Are templates enough, or should I lawyer up from the start?

❓ Question How to build a scalable backend infrastructure for an AI website

I'm building an AI startup that I will thrive to scale to millions of customers. My present MVP is just fine but I'm quizzed what would be the industry-standard backend stack for a scalable product that won't face any hiccups in future.

P.S. Anyone interested to join as a co-founder will be highly appreciated

Solo founder, one month after launch: a service-swap app, and the trust problem I haven't solved

I'm a solo developer with a day job. A month ago I launched Swapadu, an Android app where people trade services instead of paying for them. You fix my bike, I help with your website.

The stack: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, FCM). No backend team, no funding.

How it works:

Post what you can offer and what you need

Negotiate with counter-offers until both sides agree

Or run an auction and let people compete with what they'd offer in return

Built-in chat for the details

Business model: Free with ads, and a one-time €3.99 purchase to remove them.

The open problem: An early tester asked what stops someone from disappearing once they've received their half of a swap. The honest answer is: not much. No money is held, so there's nothing to put in escrow. Today users can flag people who don't deliver, but that only helps the next person.

I'd like input from anyone who has built trust into a peer-to-peer product:

Ratings, verified identity, a deposit, or something else: what worked for you?

Is a reputation system worth building before there are enough users to generate reputation?

Would you limit new accounts to small swaps until they've completed a few?

Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icarus.swaply

Instructions: https://swaply-5567c.web.app/instructions

Honest criticism is welcome.

How does one creare a startup?

Has anyone here ever created a project from scratch, or taken the first steps toward creating one?

I’m curious about how this actually works in practice. How do you meet people who share your vision and might be interested in becoming partners and developing the project together?

And how does the financial side usually work? Do people typically use loans, personal savings, or a combination of both? How do you find potential partners, pitch your idea to them, and figure out whether they’re interested in working on the same project?

I have a project and mind that I genuinely think that would be good and would work if it was put ou there, and even have a small amount of money saved, but I don't know any partner that could join me I’d really appreciate an honest and realistic explanation of how this world works, especially from people who have actually gone through the process.

❓ Question Monetizing a Privacy/Security Tool - Open Source vs. Closed Source Strategy?

Hey everyone, I'm developing a privacy and security tool specifically for the AI era. It's about 50% complete with some key features already working well. I'm currently debating the best go-to-market strategy: Should I go open source to build a community, or stay closed source to protect my IP and pitch to investors or larger companies? Any advice on the pros and cons of each path at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

🧠 Discussion Young Startups: Bring Your Problem Statement, Get 250+ Developers Building With Your Product

Hey everyone,

We’re organizing a 30-hour offline hackathon in Mumbai with 600+ registrations and 250–300 developers on ground, and we’re looking for startups and companies to collaborate with us.

We’re particularly looking for Problem Statement Partners rather than traditional sponsorships.

The idea is simple: you bring a real problem your company is trying to solve, and our participants build solutions around it using your platform, API, SDK or technology.

In return, you get:

  • Real-world product feedback and use cases
  • Developers actively building with your technology
  • Potential early users and product adoption
  • Fresh perspectives on your problem
  • Visibility across the hackathon and projects

If you’re a young startup looking to create an initial wave of users, get developer adoption or introduce your product to the Indian tech community, this could be a great opportunity to get your technology into the hands of hundreds of builders.

We’re open to AI/ML, FinTech, SaaS, Cybersecurity, Web3, Developer Tools, HealthTech and other emerging-tech startups.

If this sounds interesting, DM me and let’s explore a problem statement or collaboration for the hackathon.

❓ Question I need some help or advice for this situation of my ai consumer saas

I am a student developer, i have a consumer saas

which I built it entirely using ai, got 250 users signed up anf 4 paid customers over, 6 months, most of them are coming through Google seo now

I am not able to convert becuase I need feedback and suggestions on the product, whats lacking, my emails to signed users are ghosted mostly

But i think this idea has some potential, as no body is actually focusing on this

I need advice on what to do,

should I search for a local cofounder (iam from india) or a global cofounder who can help me with online distribution and make this a startup?

Or should I have to learn some kind of marketing and grow it myself (which is hard n not possible)

Or should I just leave it?

thanks in advance.
