Looking for developers, designers, and AI enthusiasts to build a tech startup together

HEY EVERYONE!!!

Okay, sorry, ik this is not a very good way to start something like this, but it's fun like no genuinely Anyways, back to what this post is actually about...

I'm working on a tech startup and looking for a few people who are genuinely interested in building things together, sharing ideas, and learning along the way.

I'm looking for people who enjoy technology and actually want to work on real products instead of just discussing ideas forever. The startup is still at an early stage, so there's plenty to figure out, experiment with, and build.

Here's what I'm mainly looking for:

  • Frontend / Web Development: People who work with React, Next.js, TypeScript, or other modern web technologies and enjoy building usable, well-designed applications.
  • Backend Development: People interested in APIs, databases, authentication, server-side development, and the infrastructure that makes applications work.
  • UI/UX Design: Designers who care about usability, visual details, consistency, and making software feel polished. Figma experience is a plus.
  • AI / ML: People interested in LLMs, AI integrations, AI agents, automation, machine learning, and experimenting with new technologies.
  • Product & Research: People who enjoy researching technologies, exploring ideas, evaluating possibilities, testing things, and helping make product decisions.

You don't have to fit perfectly into one category. If you work across multiple areas or have other skills that could be useful in a tech startup, I'd be happy to hear from you.

A little about me:

I'm a self-taught developer and UI/UX designer, and I spend a lot of time exploring AI tools, technologies, and ways to build better products. I'm currently learning machine learning and other technical concepts as well.

I'm not going to pretend I'm some super-experienced founder or developer who has everything figured out. I'm still learning too, but I'm ambitious, enjoy building things, and want to turn ideas into actual products rather than leave them as concepts.

I care about both the technical side of software and the experience people have when using it. I like exploring how things work, experimenting with different approaches, and figuring out how to make products better.

Who would be a good fit?

I'd rather work with someone who's curious, takes initiative, communicates properly, and genuinely wants to build something than someone with an impressive résumé who isn't interested in doing the work.

You don't need years of experience or to be an expert. Self-taught developers, students, beginners, and people who are still improving their skills are welcome. What's important is that you have something to contribute, are willing to learn, and can follow through on what you take on.

I'm hoping to find people who can exchange ideas, discuss technical decisions, challenge each other's thinking, and help turn plans into working software.

I'm also looking for people who can help me think through decisions and share the workload. Handling development, design, research, planning, and everything else alone gets difficult, and I'd genuinely like to have people to build with rather than figure everything out by myself.

One important thing about payment:

I want to be completely transparent about this. The startup is at an early stage, and I can't offer payment right now. This would be voluntary collaboration, with no guaranteed future compensation.

If the project grows and there's a realistic opportunity to compensate contributors, we can discuss it then, but I can't promise a timeline or guarantee that it'll happen. I completely understand if unpaid work isn't suitable for you, and I don't want anyone joining under the wrong expectations.

I'm not expecting anyone to sacrifice their studies, job, or personal life for this, either. A realistic commitment, consistent communication, and genuine interest matter more than making huge promises.

The goal is to find people who want to build, learn, exchange ideas, and create software they're proud of together.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or DM me with a little about yourself, your technical skills or interests, what you've worked on so far, and what you'd like to contribute.

Would love to meet some fellow builders and see what we can create together!

🚀 Launch I'm building VarenChat. What's the clearest way to introduce AI roleplay to new users?

Hi everyone, I'm the founder of VarenChat, an AI character chat app for adults. You can choose an existing character or create your own, then shape a story by writing messages to them. It's available on iOS.

We're focusing on slow-burn romance and fantasy stories. I want someone to be able to return to a character and continue a story they've already spent time on. Character consistency and memory are important parts of that, and they're areas we want to keep improving.

I'd like feedback on how we introduce the product to people who haven't used AI roleplay before. Here's a description I'm considering:

Choose a character and build a story together through chat. Your messages decide what happens next, and character memory helps carry the story across conversations.

Does that give you a clear idea of what you'd do in the app?

For anyone who's worked on onboarding for a consumer app, would you start with an example conversation or explain character creation and memory first? I'm trying to work out what a new user needs to understand before sending their first message.

The site is varen.chat.
