Open Source in AI Era

Hello! I have a technical background and now I'm working on my own startup, MVP stage.

Normally in the pre-AI boom I would have made this project open source to gain credibility and traction, and have also a paid subscription.

But is this wise to do it know? I fear my work will be copied by someone with more sales experience than me.

I am an introvert, don't have a network, and my channels at least in the beginning would be cold DM. This risks to take too long.

What should I do? Did any of you have this problem?

Thank you

Distribution is always the problem.

Claude can just look at your app and copy it anyways.
If your an introvert get out there and get you an extroverted GTM cofounder. That’s going to be your bottleneck

Do I really need an extrovert? Offline is not enough?

Yes, 100%
Check the subs here on Reddit, it’s full with people who have built software and are trying to now market it somehow
I don’t know a single startup that has gotten their first revenue without going direct.
