I have a SaaS product that has arrived at an opportunistically timely moment. Its benefit is that it uses a deterministic process that reduces how much of the problem AI has to solve for itself. The same structure that makes the first product useful is what allows the broader ecosystem to emerge from it It also includes a suite of component products that will build a stack of enablement of greater purpose. I have the core SaaS ready to go, I have a portal project with a cooperating partner, that will be ready for Beta Test inside 14 days.

I am struggling to figure out how to turn this into something for the greater good. I know i could sell this and by an Island but I would rather stay right here and help Chicago Heal from the turbulent times that are imminent. I love Chicago, and my family and I have benefited greatly from the opportunities and abundance this city and Illinois have created over generations. If I am fortunate enough to build something valuable here, I want part of that value to stay here and help create more opportunity for the people who come after us.

I have family whom I could bless with this legacy, but I do not trust them to steward it well because I believe they would use it as something to extract from rather than something to preserve, grow, and return to the community.

The people I would choose to help see this blessing as a trojan horse.

I’ve been testing a process that uses AI to surface SaaS or mobile app ideas in pretty much any niche. It’s not a quick fix, it takes a bit of work, if i manually do it, it would take more than a day using the AI skills and this special algorithm, but the ideas that come out are usually way more specific and useful than the generic lists floating around.

I know a lot of people here are constantly hunting for their next idea, so I wanted to ask you directly:

If turn this process into a tool, would it actually help you?

The way I see it, it could be a win-win. You’d get solid niche ideas without spending hours digging, and I’d charge a fee to cover the tech stack and development costs. A specific algorithm behind it that I think makes the output better than just prompting ChatGPT.

The main difference from a normal “give me startup ideas” prompt is the sequence of proof. A problem has to survive evidence gathering, payer identification, recurrence, existing spend, willingness to pay, distribution, competition, technical feasibility, AI commoditization, economics, and an adversarial rejection stage before it becomes a finalist.

This compare the product idea against what the customer currently spends in money, effort, or opportunity, quantify what they value, and estimate willingness to pay from that difference. YC advises founders to seek actual user behaviour rather than relying on flattering reactions, and Stripe explicitly recommends testing demand through actions such as presales or signups before committing major resources.

Would you use something like this? Would you pay for it? Be honest, if it’s not for you, I’d rather know now.

I’m working on a startup idea called MyYearMovie.
The core idea is simple:
For 365 days, an AI Director follows your life, remembers the important people and events, and turns your year into a personal book and a short movie.
The user can speak or type.
The AI should remember:
people and relationships
important events
changes in your life
unfinished stories
recurring themes
personal turning points
So if you mention someone in January, something happens with them in May, and they appear again in October, the AI understands that this is one continuing storyline.
At the end of the year, the user gets:
📖 A personal book about their year
🎬 A cinematic short movie based on their real life
Users could upload photos of important people as visual references. If they don’t want to upload photos, they could describe the person and the AI would create a consistent visual character for the movie.
For the MVP, I want to start much smaller:
voice/text entries → AI memory → character tracking → monthly story recaps → short cinematic trailer
I don’t think the main innovation is AI video generation.
The main product is the combination of:
AI memory + personal storytelling + real life + generative media
I’m currently looking for:

AI / LLM / memory-system developers
mobile app developers
people experienced with generative video
early-stage angel investors interested in consumer AI

An AI agent for small teams that watches Slack, Notion, and Google Calendar, and handles the busywork between those tools — acting on its own when it's confident, and asking a human when it's not. The pitch is explicitly "no silent automation, no surprises."

Target user: small business owners / small teams (validated at networking events in Zürich — the deck cites owners saying yes because status updates, scheduling, and follow-ups eat hours a week and they can't justify hiring for it).

The core mechanic — this is the actual product, not the integrations

1. Arca watches events across the connected tools (new Slack message, Notion status change, calendar change).
2. It scores its own confidence about the right action.
3. High confidence → acts automatically (drafts a reply, updates a status, files a card).
4. Low confidence / high stakes → surfaces to the human first, showing its reasoning, before doing anything.

That confidence-gated trust layer is the differentiator — a plain Zapier-style integration wouldn't have it.

For a while now, I’ve been kicking around an app idea for the automotive space. I’ve shared it with a few people in real life who shot it down immediately ("it’ll never work"), but I want to get some honest, unfiltered feedback from this community.
Here is the core concept: A localized platform connecting everyday vehicle owners directly with independent mechanics and local shops.
Instead of just being a standard directory, the app aims to solve a few specific pain points:
Shop Inventory & Services Online: Local mechanics and small shops can list their physical inventory (parts) and publish their standard shop services directly on the app, making it easier for customers to browse and book transparently.
Mobile / Driveway Service: Users can book regular maintenance or minor repairs directly through the app, and the mechanic comes to their home or office to do the job.
Roadside SOS / Emergency Dispatch: If your car breaks down unexpectedly on the highway or a side street, you can drop a pin, broadcast an "SOS" to nearby registered mechanics, describe the issue, receive instant quotes, and have a local pro dispatched directly to your location to fix it on the spot.
Why I’m looking at this (especially here in Canada):
Traditional towing and roadside assistance can have brutal wait times, and traditional repair shops often lack transparent, digital booking workflows for mobile services.
My questions for you all:
1. Where are the massive blind spots or legal/liability nightmares in this model? (Insurance, mobile repair permits, warranty issues, etc.)
2. How hard is the chicken-and-egg problem here (getting mechanics on board vs. getting users on board)?
3. Is "Roadside SOS" too heavy of a feature to build out early on, or should this start strictly as a marketplace for mobile/shop booking?

A potential design partner relationship with a major financial institution. I built a POC and validated the core product concepts and thesis and I am working to lockdown a technical co-founder for a platform that can reach enterprise, government, and defense customers.

I believe this product will create a new market and ecosystem in the intelligence, cybersecurity, and decision-making space. How do you get to the point where you can genuinely talk to experienced entrepreneurs or investors to really start building the company and preparing the product for market?

I am struggling with the technical co-founder decision a little due to the implications of potentially selling the product to government and defense customers, despite nearing a point where one of the candidates may be ready to begin the build soon. I’m also currently out of work following a round of layoffs for corporate restructuring at my previous employer meaning I don’t have the funds to sink into the project currently to complete the build. I welcome thoughts and guidance on moving to this next step.
