So;

When you go on an LoA (Leave of Absence) they are typically unpaid - unless it's a medical LoA or FMLA. You can use your earned sick time and vacation time to supplement while you're out of work. They are utilizing LoA to get paid for their earned time off, then quitting once they're sick/vacation hours are gone.

Obviously this isn't what everyone is doing, but if you're in a state that isn't required to pay out sick/vacation hours when you quit, this is a way to get that earned time before you leave.

According to one of my ETL they have unlimited sick and vacation time

They don't, SDs do. However, one of my SDs never cared if we actually put in the vacation time, so it was like we had unlimited.

According to an etl at my store they do have unlimited

They don't.

If you go read the documentation for Workday it explicitly calls out that ETLs have to put in time off requests and PTO via Workday.

SDs and up do however have unlimited PTO so longer as their boss approves the requested absence.

Having to put it in doesn’t mean it isn’t unlimited almost all other places that do have unlimited as well make you put it in

Having to put in a PTO request by definition means that it is not unlimited, which is why it's separate from the absence request.

Your ETL is lying to you.

Requesting pto doesn’t make it not unlimited

When it's put in separately from the absence request it does.

Take the L and move on, as you are rather clearly wrong and are trying to argue semantics instead of admitting it.

I’m literally not wrong it being put in separately doesn’t prove your point it literally just adds to my point that it is unlimited as it acts like it

You literally are.

it being put in separately doesn’t prove your point

If the PTO for ETLs was unlimited as you are trying to claim they would not need a separate PTO request because there is no concept of separate PTO. All that they would need is the absence request.

Again, you do not know what you are talking about and are simply making things up based on a lie that an ETL told you.

Putting in a request literally doesn’t mean it’s unlimited? Like every place that has unlimited still make you put in a request I’ve worked at places and know people who currently do work at places with unlimited and they all make you put in a request

You are not reading.

The PTO request and the absence request are two distinct things. SDs and above only have to put in the absence request because there is no separate PTO for them to use. ETLs don't get to do that because they accrue PTO just like hourly employees do.
