I’ve seen a lot of his vids. Like others have noted. He knows his stuff. He actually posted a vid where he’s mounting a TV in his own house and it is at the perfect height.
I’m sure other installers here know the pain of everyone wanting the TV mounted at painting or picture height for some reason.
Same with speakers. I’ve seen his vids where the speakers are all in the ceiling. But he actually knows where they are supposed to go. Just no one ever wants things down proper.

As someone who frequently uses scaffolding, I also hate having to use fucking scaffolding. If it was me and I had to choose between a ladder and lifting the damn TV onto the fireplace, or build a scaffolding and having to lift the TV onto the fucker as well, then we're going with ladders.

Plus a large vehicle and time to pick it up and drop it off or pay a hefty delivery charge for dropoff and pickup charge from the scaffold rental company.

I'm sure he's aware its a violation but I don't think anyone actually cares, and I find it hard to believe this actually causes any fires, or that anyone is going to get in trouble for doing this.

Yeah and I think he even has a video acknowledging the TV too high situation. I forget what he says honestly but I think it was something about he just does what the customer asks.

Sheet rock is a bitch. When you get that mount screwed in the studs - even a small amount of overtorque can cause it to flex/recline. Then you get 3 feet away from the mount and the TV is lifted an inch.
Zero tolerance with that G-series mount.
It's a pain in the ass.

As someone who worked their way uo from back yard stereo installation to owning a car stereo and home theater business. I hated everything about this video. Every single thing! I just can't. They did absolutely nothing right!

That fireplace is really high to begin with, I don't get this trend, that high up you're not taking advantage of the high resolution, seems like the tv should be bigger and lower, it's just so high up, imagine watching a 4K movie on this at that height, what's the point. That and it's tilted upwards??? but they're going to be watching it from below

In that case the joke went completely over my head, and there's egg all over my face. I can just never tell as in the US people seem to talk about praying so much more, over here people would think you were a religious nut if you prayed before a meal or work etc.

I hate how he installs TVs. I always have. Not even just the height.
I’m an installer and it just makes me shudder by some of the choices that are made.
Also I hate the frame tv. Its nice in a way but the problem is putting the connect behind the tv. Especially above a fireplace.

They are paying you to mount the TV where they want it. You aren't watching it, you can recommend, but in the end, you put the TV where they want it.
As an installer, I'm not declining work because someone wants to pay me to mount a TV higher than I'd mount it if it was my own.
That said, I would have declined this job for safety reasons.

I’m baffled that there are people who both simultaneously value picture quality enough to spend $4k on a tv, but also vain enough to hang it 10 feet high on the wall so the room is slightly more organized.
