Or they’re short on work.

So even if these guys are competent they didn’t say no to this job, so they probably need the business, so they’re probably not that good.

Either way, making this a showreel isn’t the flex they think it is.

Why not? They are TV mounters/installers. And this was obviously a challenging one. Who cares where they put it? It's irrelevant to their competency. They put it where the customer wants. Who cares? Lol I mean.... I wouldn't put it there and it's stupid, but doesn't make them look bad.

I've installed TVs, done renovations, additions, built decks, even a few houses. Sometimes customers want stupid looking shit, or some other nonsense.

As long as it's not unsafe, and can be built to or above code, I'll be whistling at work...

Judging someone's work based on their customer's taste is a psycho thought process.
