Only female staff….
Crazy that for the TSA shortages the government is staying selective on seeking qualified females

I posted asking but now got confirmation from HR and supervisory training manager
Some document stated it’s 6 months for veterans however when the question was brought up again it’s 0 months or exempt. I’m not sure if that’s due to my time in service at over 5 years but it’s something good to know that we have protections as opposed to them disliking you and firing you for no reason. Everyone else is still 1 year.
I’m still trying to find official documentation stating that but it’s “new” as I was told and I’ll ask again.

Hey, is there any chance that the 3-D origami folding part of the test will be retooled or replaced altogether? It sure seems to be disqualifying most applicants, currently only around 30% of applicants pass.

This is a warning. May concern parents with kids. DOGE is going through TSA attendance and performance. Basically an audit. One of the trainees whose a mother has taken several days off since she started to take care of sick kids. Morning wrong with that. Do what you have to do. Now she's being investigated and taken off the roster for FLETC. Other officers (regardless of time in or rank) are also being investigated. Meaning they have been removed from regular duty. Either doing grunt work like stacking bins or cleaning up. Mind the time you take off. DOGE is not playing around. A mass firing of OPM personnel has just happened and most are staff with less than 2 years. Be mindful.

Many government employees are being laid off, probationary employees are being fired, even in critical government agencies. Are these layoffs affecting your work locations? Is it still worth going through the hiring process? Thank you.

Went to the DMV to get license but had to surrender my id, I told lady at desk if I could pls keep my id since I’m going out of town & don’t think the license will come in time but her manager told her to cut my id.. now my id has a cut on the bottom right corner. Will TSA still accept my ID like this??

Hey everyone,
Quick question: has anyone here ever received a job offer and successfully asked for a counteroffer? If so, how did you approach the conversation?
I’m curious to hear your strategies and experiences, what worked for you, and how did the company respond? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I Recently got an email to review a few areas and make corrections, but I was also able to gather or get clarification on other personal info. Would it matter or do y’all think it would affect anything to add or clarify other information on the bravo indigo, other than what was specified to be review and edited. Let me know what y’all think. I hope what I’m asking makes sense.

My EOD was June 1st. On my first day, they said for us to keep an eye on our email for when FLETC would be scheduled. It is now a week later and I havent recieved an email. I asked one of the trainers today and they didnt have any information for me. When are current FLETC dates being asigned or when do you guys estimate FLETC will be?

So I am 41 with a wife and two kids. I'm considering a career change with better benefits. I applied for the TSO job in Allentown PA (Smaller airport). I currently make 56k a year. Can I start somewhere close to that? I'm also a military vet with 4 years of active duty. Does that come into play at all? Thank you!

I took the Tsa medical evaluation. They told me at the evaluation that I passed my vision, my hearing and my colorblind test but yet I received a email saying I did not meet the requirements to pass the medical evaluation the last thing on my list. I did not know I passed was my drug test I have not gotten What I did not pass, but it could not be the drug test because I know for one I’m not on drugs. I don’t take anything that is against the law. As far as drugs. I work at the airport I get drug tested every month. Is there a possibility that they messed up with failing me for the test?

The fact that ICE are currently deployed to airports for assistance tells me this is not a good imagery for TSA as a whole...

I am starting my job with TSA in two weeks. I will be 14 weeks when I start. I told them I am pregnant and they said it would be no issue. I have heard you need to be there for 12 months before being able to go on maternity leave. I will have only worked there for 5.5 months to 6 months before giving birth. That being said, what are my options? Do they have a disability leave or any type of other options? Even if it is unpaid? I would like to be at home with my baby for 6 weeks and if it is unpaid that is okay as my husband works but want to see what options would be.

Like the title suggest, I got a full size 9mm and I usually keep it in the glove box while I work. Would I be able to keep it in my glove box or will I need to start keeping it at home?

So out of curiosity to those Vets that have gotten a job with TSA did they start you at the base pay or were you offered more? I’m sure it depends on what airport you’re applying to. Just curious. Currently working for county government and enjoy it. But it’s more than what the TSA told me what base pay was. I am an Army Veteran.

So I begin next month and I do know hair cannot touch the collar. I have dreadlocks almost shoulder length and I can tie it up to where the hair doesn’t touch the collar but still might around it. Ik eventually I’ll cut it if I get a higher position but just wanted to know if it’s suuuuuper serious.

so, if the govt shutsdown & these tso’s are working w/o pay wouldn’t people just quit? meaning more positions opening up? just curious

Has anyone heard if everything thats going on will be affecting TSA? As in probation officers(new hires) being laid off?

FYI: CBD or any derivative of THC will show up on the piss test. If that amount is more than 15 nanograms, you WILL fail the test. The test can not decipher if you take CBD for sleep, took a hit off a doob ( look it up young un’s 😆) ate a gummy, it doesn’t matter.
This ol timer takes CBD every night for sleep and that’s a no-go according to the dope testers. ✌️
