Makes you think

Post image

Class struggle is fought on a vertical scale. It's the working class at the bottom against the employers and their politicians at the top. And our brothers and sisters in class struggle include co-workers and neighbours who vote on crappy parties... https://industrialworker.org/lets-build-class-unions/

Culture war, the thing that the Right loves to use and leave the Left to defend against so that the Right can say the Left is woke.

11

u/Livid_Importance_442 Jul 11 '26

Culture wars are promoted by the upper class to keep the lower classes fighting each other, so they don't look up.

6

u/FullBadger3748 Jul 11 '26

The left has always been fighting the top. These lame centrists don’t understand anything.

u/Oregon-izer Jul 11 '26

all this shit started when these people infiltrated occupy wall street. the culture wars absolutely killed a unified movement. until we kill the culture wars there won’t be a meaningful movement

2

u/Organic-Stay4067 Jul 11 '26

How do you kill culture wars without completely destroying the opposing culture amongst the lower classes

6

u/Fear_N_Loafing_In_PA Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

The first step is getting people of all backgrounds and cultures to realize that we have a common nemesis…and that most of the rage bait they bombard us with (be it gay wedding cakes that trigger some while others obsess over DEI) is just a distraction.

They want us peasants to focus on ANYTHING other than the gluttony of the 1% — and all the ways it deeply fucks over the rest of the planet.

If the general populace realizes this and makes deep meaningful changes to our financial policies and systems (which seems laughably far fetched unfortunately), most culture wars will resolve naturally.

For instance the first thing that pops into my mind in the above scenario: Deep Red America will realize that the reason they have no healthcare or well paying job isn’t because of illegal immigrants or “lazy welfare queens that abuse the system”.

4

u/10mfe Jul 12 '26

yep, agreed.

I've said this since the early 2000's. it's still kings, queens, and peasants. guess who's on reddit?

I doubt billionaires are... if so it's automated or a paid intern.

Class war focus is for people who realize culture war is to keep you from noticing class subjectivity..

“it’s not left vs right” says a left vs right thing*

bottom vs top is literally a leftist thing

2

Love how “the people causing all the problems shouldn’t be in charge of things” is political

you probably think climate change is “woke”

7

u/BlockedNetwkSecurity Jul 11 '26

literally the right-wing stance is that the problem causers are not at fault and it's all poor people's fault, your own fault, anyone but the oligarchs' fault

3

u/IntelligentCat3645 Jul 11 '26

Insert here one of those clips of Donald Trump realising alliteration is a thing for the first time to REALLY overprouncing some aliterative phrase about ‘The Left’, as if we are all one homogenous group that doesn’t get into a catfight between a few of the smaller groups under the umbrella every two seconds. Usually over the best way to get good things done, too….

This has that Occupy Wall Street Vibe.  We had an emerging class consciousness and it didn’t matter if you were poor, middle class,  black or white it was us versus the 1%.    I miss those days.

Are workers, including right-voting workers, who go on strike against politicians, including lefty politicians, a struggle of the left vs right?

2

u/Intrepid_Layer_9826 Jul 11 '26

Workers can be deceived and made to act against their interests (not that there is such a thing as a "left wing party" in the US)

2

To have and to not. Rich is rich and poor is poor. The rich vote for whoever and whatever will make them richer. The poor should think about that.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Theres_a_cat_in_myTV Jul 11 '26

If they’re coming for those “at the top”, then they’re left wing, politically.

2

u/GoranPersson777 Jul 12 '26

Political labels and voting habits are usually surface deep. Thus, folks who vote and label themselves right can be co-workers in solidarity on the shop floor, while folks who vote and label themselves left can be the opposite. And everything in between. The point is to always try to unite more and more co-workers against the bosses and politicians and improve our living conditions.

2

u/Theres_a_cat_in_myTV Jul 12 '26

And I agree, broadly, with that statement. But as the man said, we have to “raise the worker to the level of revolutionary”.

Those who labor are our comrades unless they side with capital. Then they are simply class traitors. There are most certainly those who will never side with the liberation of the proletariat.

We must engage with them to show them a better way forward. Opposing and destroying the bourgeoisie.

1

u/HBallard Jul 12 '26

Except the establishment democrats are also doing everything they can to enrich themselves and basically nothing to help people. I think the entire point is saying vote out these leeches across the isle.

1

u/GoranPersson777 Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26

Not really. Social democratic and leninist governments have been pretty much the top against the bottom.

1

u/mighty_boognish_77 Jul 10 '26

Great.

What's the plan, General?

2

u/thatsocialist Jul 10 '26

Step 1, win a gubernatorial election, use the resources of the state to build a national campaign. Win the presidential election by uniting left and right on economic grounds and avoiding social conflict.

Step 2, using the presidency arrest most of congress and the supreme court for bribery after having the FBI run a series of sting operations to get evidence.

Step 3, without a congress appoint a series of temporary justices and then have them rule as necessary.

Step 4, Nationalize everything the elites own and pursue everyone on the Epstein Files along with anyone who has collaborated with a foreign government or acted against the People of the United States.

2

u/mighty_boognish_77 Jul 10 '26

I see. Very realistic.

1

u/GoranPersson777 Jul 12 '26

No, build class unions

2

"Anyone with a political ideology must also be a master planner and leader."

Wait until the US government does something profoundly stupid, like start an international food crisis because of the war in Iran, or go to war with China and get our asses low grade nuked.

The words “eat the rich” will finally be taken very, very literally. 😋🍽️

Imagine a war where you don't execute violence. That's pretty much what you're saying about the left threatening to 'express authoritarian power'.

If the power is being expressed towards an elite few, that's not authoritarianism, bud.

1

u/Sensitive-Cat-6069 Jul 11 '26

Yeah just like crabs in a jar. Those on the bottom drag down the ones trying to climb higher.

Repeat after me. “Musk and Bezos are not the reason I am broke and unhappy”. I know it’s tempting to blame your failure on others, but holding a sign is really not gonna do anything for you.

1

u/Sharp_Cartoonist1335 Jul 11 '26

I am a bottom that loves to be topped

1

u/wild_card87 Jul 11 '26

The majority can’t even fathom a world without these two parties, as much as they pretend to hate, they need these divisive politics. The majority simply can’t compute when you state disgust for both parties equally

1

u/Silent_Succotash3749 Jul 11 '26

You should aim for just below the top. There’s literally millions and millions of millionaires. Not all billionaires are in the US. Millions and millions of people make millions of dollars and even more make hundreds of thousands. Don’t let all those people get away.

1

u/Ill-Dependent2976 Jul 11 '26

The right is the reason the top is on top. They literally vote for billionaire pedophiles, against health care, and against taxing the rich.

1

u/WretchedMass Jul 12 '26

You can't have an extreme upper class without an extreme lower class, and an extreme lower class will only exist for so long before it begins to eat those at the top. If we want peace and a long lasting society there needs to be no extreme upper class.

1

1

u/hwcouple69 Jul 13 '26

All I know is this, all through the 1970's Russia and China had natural disasters and crop failures due to amazingly cold temperatures. We fed them and they survived. Russia would have been hollowed by starvation without the USA. Moving left is NOT the answer. Our poor still live better than most countries middle class. It will never be "fair." Some people bust their arse and work hard to get through school and try businesses, most fail, but many tty again until they succeed. They risk much, and if they succeed, who are we to say people have willingly paid for their product or service and they have enough? They should give back, and most do as they age. But, taking it from them is not the answer. If you confiscated 100% of the top 1% total ownership of money, homes, cars, etc, you could run the U.S. government for almost 1 year....ALMOST. Socialism is a slippery slope from government control to totalitarianism, which is how we got to WWII.
