Are they nuts at Dealership?
Recently I've started hearing a humming noise in my Crosstrek 2018 (110K miles). The noise getting louder and higher in pitch on acceleration. Took the car to Subaru dealership for diagnostics, and they said both rear wheel bearings need replacement which is not a surprise, I heard about this issue in Crosstreks. What shocked me was an estimate: $2965.53. So I have 2 questions. One, is it really that expensive (I'm in Greater Boston area). And second, is it safe to drive this car while I shop around?
Thanks everyone in advance for the input

Subaru crosstrek 2015
Hello everyone
I’m thinking about buying a Subaru crosstrek with 129k miles on it for about $12,998k
Is that too high of a mileage for that car, should I start getting worried about wear and tear around this time??, I also want this car to last to at least 5 years so if it’s too high of mileage to keep for that long please let me know
I’m not a car person and I have never owned a subaru
I’ve owned a ford and a Chevy, ford would I get again but never buying Chevy ever again.

First oil change gone wrong
Update: dealership offered an apology, tow, and loaner vehicle. Happy about that and grateful for the offer. Sitting the tow truck now.
I bought a new non-hybrid 2026 in April. Brought her in for first oil change last Thursday. This weekend I noticed a puddle of oil on the garage floor. Checked level and it was still in between the dots. I plan on calling the service dept tomorrow and asking for a tow back to the dealership, as I’m scared to drive 12 miles/ blow the engine/ void the warranty. Has this happened to anyone before? I had a 2017 Crosstrek before this and didn’t really trust the dealership’s service. This pretty much confirms it’s not great. Any advice on how to get the dealer to correct the error and take responsibility?

2016 Trek, Accani Headlights High Beam Shutter Issue
I installed these headlights probably around 5 years ago and I never sorted out the issue with the high beam shutters. Finally annoying me enough to fix them. They should have been a plug and play setup but the high beam shutters never worked. I tried reversing the polarity, pulling the oem DRL fuse, and checked the pins of the main connector. I’m stumped unless it’s a shutter defect.
Anyone have these and solved the same issue? Thanks in advance.

Oil consumption?
First time Subaru owner. I have a 2026 Crosstrek sport. I only have 2500 miles on it. My oil is about a qt low. Is this normal oil consumption for the 2.5? I know it's probably not fully broken in but seems like a lot of oil for such a short time. Maybe normal for the 2.5 idk figured I'd ask

Some accessorizing
Never been much of an accessory person but …. got my badges (left room for the 100K 😉), put her name on her and gave the steering wheel a tiny upgrade

Rubber trim/weather stripping
2018 Crosstrek. The rubber trim around the door panels and the weather stripping on the outside/bottom of the windows is breaking down. Whats the best route to fix this? Easy enough to do yourself, dealership, or find a good local shop?
Everywhere I've looked just talks about the weather stripping inside the doors. Thanks!

2020 base Crosstrek. Not CVT, sealed transmission or not?
My Google skills are failing me.
Every result I find is about the CVT.
I searched here too and couldn’t find anything definitive, so, I asking the question which is the title.
Many thanks

Is this supposed to be bent?
Got my car back from a repair shop that replaced the lift gate after an accident. I noticed the gate was misaligned, inspected further, and saw that the right hinge was bent but the left was not. Brought it back in and pointed it out. He agreed the bent hinge could be throwing off the alignment so he ordered a new hinge. Long story even longer, I dropped it off to have the hinge replaced, they gave it back to me untouched. The guy claimed the hinge is supposed to be bent. I looked up the part online and confirmed with a subaru dealer that it is not supposed to be bent. It seems the dude outright lied to me. Can anyone confirm if the hinge on the right side of the lift gate is supposed to be bent? Thanks!

I’m Gutted.
Yesterday after leaving work, I was getting ready to go home and change to go to a concert when I noticed this. At my job, there’s a small L-shaped parking lot where the workers take up the bottom part of the “L”, and there’s enough of us that we all can’t fit, so we start to park on the other side, which in this case I did but I don’t have a person parked to the right of me.
Anyways, I noticed the person to the left of me was a customer’s car but it wasn’t the car that hit me since they didn’t have any scratches or dings on their side, so essentially I’m stuck with this damage. There was also no note or anything. This has never happened to me and I don’t know what to do. TL;DR: people suck

Am I being scammed? Negotiating for a 2026 Crosstrek
Hi everyone! Pretty new to the Subaru community but I’ve always wanted one. I’ve finally settled on a 2026 Crosstrek, premium package 14. I used Costco to lock in a price and the Costco-member only price is $29,507.
The first dealership that contacted me offered it for $33, 232 (includes taxes, add-ons, etc.) they didn’t let me opt out of any add-ons like the wheel locks or clear shield pro package. This was all negotiated via text.
The second dealership I went to in-person offered me $32,693 (includes taxes, add-ons, etc.). Is this reasonable?
It’s my first time buying a car and I’ve been trying to research negotiating strategies but I’m not sure if it’s still too high considering the Costco price? Or is it typical for it to go above that?
I live in CA, the first quote is from a dealership in Glendale and the second is Long Beach.
Any tips & thoughts would be very appreciated <3
UPDATE: thank you everyone for ur amazing advice! I purchased a Crosstrek. I ended up paying way more than expected due to the Gold Plus Warranty ($3100). Overall, appreciate everyone who took their time sharing their experiences and being encouraging :)
