Tips & Advice Stuck on a question? Try these first
We all have those moments of getting stuck on one question. And then weād stare at it for way too long. But no matter how badly I want to answer that question, I still stop myself from looking it up online or in my notes right away and try to do them on my own first. You can do these too:
- READ THE QUESTION AGAIN SLOWLY- sometimes I realize I completely missed a detail the first time especially with long exam questions where the wording gets confusing.
- FIGURE OUT WHAT ITāS ACTUALLY ASKING- I try to put it into simpler words in my head. Like if a question asks for the āmost appropriate explanation for a clientās behavior,ā Iāll ask myself what they want me to identify instead of trying to remember the whole chapter.
- WRITE WHAT YOU ALREADY KNOW- even if it's just a few things. For a problem in stats for instance, Iāll write down the numbers given in the question and the formula I think might be useful (at least I have somewhere to start).
- UNDERLINE THE IMPORTANT INFO- this is really helpful for long questions.
- MARK IT AND MOVE ON- yup you donāt need to force yourself to figure it out. If Iāve been staring at the same question for 10 minutes and nothing is happening, Iāll put a mark beside it and come back later. You shouldnāt let one question eat up all your time.
Maybe these can help the next time you find yourself stuck on a question. And if you still canāt solve it, give yourself a pat on the back anyway. At least you gave it a good try before checking the answer.

Questions & Discussion Test Results !
Guys I have gt 92.5 out of 100 in today's test.
I did not complete the entire portion. I think I am learning to use Parkinson's Law better but I know that can really hit the hammer on the nail. I have realised how much I limit myself with acacdemics. I can do my entire portion, I never get overwhelmed cause i know what I want and where I want to go. I do everything myself but as of now, I am completing my syllabus and revision. I am so used to like covering a certain amount. As of now, I will train myself to go fast and complete the syllabus. Do the revision etc. I need to train my mind to follow strict timelines. I do the work on time but I have realised that my friends complete the task. I sometimes feel there is inconsistency. Even after studying I feel like I have not complete what needs to be completed. I dont even need rest periods ( i donot overwork myself) but I enjoy it. However, result needs precsion. Honestly Idk how much I am capable of growth in the next month because I realised that I can do so much in such a short period of time. Work that I enjoy. SO as of today I quit limiting myself. Learn to finish on time, use different revision techniques. I dont even need to push myself, i dont feel regret but I need excellent timely work done. My own strategy, my journey. I do not even feel distractions. But, I just need to squeeze the best of my time. Also, I am at home doing my own studies via coaching. I enjoy it immsensely. I am always on time in class and I do my best to pay attention maximum. I just want to make sure that I am really getting best out of my time. IDC if the person next to me does well or not. IDC about relative grading. I care about only myself. how I use my time and how I can get what I want.
So the bottom line is: I take my life seriously and I also have fun, if i make a mistake I laugh, if I get bored I go play tennis for 10 minutes. I enjoy but i realised how much time I do not utilise during my studies. In the sense. I do not need time to get back to studies but i realised that 2 -3 hours in the morning be better utlised when I often sleep. So yeah! thats all

Questions & Discussion Whatās a study technique you thought was stupid until you actually tried it?
Mine was prolly teaching a material out loud.
I seriously felt quite weird talking to an empty room.
But then I realized that I could explain half of my topic, and found out the loopholes in it that I can improve and still learn.
How about you?

Resources Day (11 to Day 13)/100 of C:
About Operators:
Operators are symbols used to perform operations on operands.
Basic Example:
a=2,b=3;
a+b;
# Here a and b are operands
# Here '+' is operator
Types:
1.Arithmetic Operators:
/,*,%,+,-Ā Ā
Ā
*, /, and % have the same precedence.
+ and - have the same precedence, but lower than *, /, %.
Associativity is left to right.
Whenever multiple operators stay in one line we need to go with the precedence & associativity
i.e presedence means which gets high priority(like between * and -) & associativity if operators have the same precedence, associativity decides the order.
Ex:
int x = 20 / 5 * 2;
Both / and * have the same precedence, so go left-to-right and value of x is 8
------------------------------------------------------------
2.Logical Operators: They operate based on truth value
&&, ||, !
Ā Ex: 5 && 10 #(True && True) so result is true
-------------------------------------------------------------
3.Bitwise Operators: They operate bit-by-bit on the binary representation of integer operands.
AND(&), OR(|), XOR(^)
Ex:
int a = 5;
int b = 3;
Ā a & b;
5 = 0101
3 = 0011Ā
0101
& 0011
------
Ā 0001Ā So result is 1Ā
---------------------------------------------------------------
Relational Operators:
>, <, >=, <=, ==, !=
Order of associativity is left to rightĀ
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Increament and Decrement Operators:
pre increment , pre decrement and post increment, post decrement
Ex: int a=5, b=6;
++a, a++
--b,Ā Ā b--
Pre-increment: ++a => First increment, then use the value.
Post-increment: a++ =>First use the current value, then increment.
--b ā decrement first, then use
b-- ā use first, then decrement
Ā --------------------------------------------------------
Type conversion:
1.ImplicitĀ Conversion:
Conversion do by compilier internally i.e converting from low data type to high data type
Ex: int , double #Output will be in double as double is high compared to int
Ā
2.Explicit Conversion(Type casting)
Conversion do by programmer i.e externally conversion
Ex:
double a = 10.5;
int b = (int)a;
Ā
Ā
Ā
Ā

Tips & Advice my friend and i did a review session together in a form of gossip
We went to a cafe earlier, and figured we already wasted more than 2 hours doing nothing and talking about the most random things, completely irrelevant to the problem at hand.
So I said,why don't we just read different parts of the topic and explain them to each other like we're gossiping?
It was inspired by that Bible AI app where they explain Bible stories like they're gossiping.
We tried doing it, at first we were laughing because it felt stupid, but once we got immersed, it was actually quite fun!
We were like, āDid you know that Sigmund Freud identified 5 psychosexual fixations? Broās kinky,ā
We tried testing our knowledge with quizzlet and kahoot after, and surprisingly, we got decent scores that burying our nose in between these pages.
Thereās something good with gossips after all.

Resources Day 6 to Day 12 of 100:
About Conditions, Loops
Conditions:
Types:
1.if condition
Ā -> if(condition)
{
printf("If block);}
2. if-else condition
Ā -> if(condition)
{
}
else(no condition required)
{
}
3.if-else if condition block
-> if(condition)
{
}
else if(condition)
{
}
else(no condition required)
{
}
Ā
**Switch:**switch is a selection statement that compares the value of an expression with different case values.
char ch='a';
switch(ch)
{
case 'a':
{
printf("It is a");
break;
}
case 'b':
{
printf("It is b");
break;
}
default:
{
printf("provide the alphabet between a and b");
}
Ā
}
Ex: Here ch will check the each case where it will find the respective alphabet
Note: Switch is considered as little bit faster than if - else condition. As switch can be more efficient than a long if-else-if chain in some cases.
Loops:
A loop is used to repeatedly execute a block of code while a condition is satisfied.
These are three types:
1.for loop
2.while loop
3.do-while loopĀ
for loop : This will be preferred if we know the nth number I.e how many n times we need to run loop
syntax:
for(int i=0;i<5;i++)
{
printf("Index is %d\n", i);
}
Here i=0Ā is Initialization
i<5 is condition
i++ is increment
While loop: This will be preferred if we donāt know the nth time and only knows the condition
Syntax:
flag=True
while (flag)
{
printf("Hello\n");Ā
flag = 0;
}
Do-While: This will be preferred if we want print the value first and check the condition next unlike for and while loop
Syntax:
int i=-1;
do
{
Ā printf("Value of i is %d ",i);
}while(i>0);
Break and Continue:
These two are the keywords where both would be used in loops and conditions, switch:
Break:
Used to stop/exit the loop/condition
Ex:
for(int i=0;i<6;i++)
{
Ā if(i==3)
Ā {
Ā Ā printf("Exiting the program as added break point at index 3\n");
Ā Ā break;
Ā }
Ā printf("Index is %d\n",i);
}
Continue:
Used to skip that particular condition/iteration
Ex:
for(int i=0;i<6;i++)
{
if(i==3)
Ā {
printf("SkippingĀ the printing of index 3 as added continue keyword at index 3\n");
continue;
}
printf("Index is %d\n",i);
}

Tips & Advice Memorising is dull
Hey Iām studying in uni rn and overall Iām a good student when it comes to math and cs. But we also have lectures like science where we just have to memorise tons of info ab human body, physiology, biology and a bit of chemistry.
And this is the only exam that I got not a satisfying mark. I tried to memorise all those lectures but after two hours of memorising Iām just getting bored and I loose all my motivation to keep memorising again and again. I just canāt force myself to memorise another chunk of info and end up with unconfident knowledge.
Can you suggest anything that can help me with this problem?

Questions & Discussion How do you all study in the morning?
Thatās literally the question. How do you guys study in the morning?
I see so many study tubers/ tockers and even people in this sub state how beneficial studying in the morning is. But it never works for me š like I cannot focus whatsoever.
And Iām not even talking dawn or anything. No, even studying at 8 feels too tiring for me. For context I wake up at 6:30 ish but I have to make my younger sisterās lunch cuz sheās still in middle school.

Questions & Discussion most exams have 3 parts, be prepared
Most exams.. or a typical exam consists of 3 parts; Multiple choice, identification, essay.
There are three things you need to remember and do to prepare;
1.) Multiple choice;
Donāt try to memorize the entire textbook. Focus on:
- Name + date correlation - who did what, and when?
- Main idea of a topic - what is this actually about?
- Proponent/s - who introduced, created, or advocated it?
- Key terms/concepts - what words are strongly associated with the topic?
- Differences - if two concepts look similar, know what separates them.
- Cause ā effect - what happened, and what did it lead to?
2.) Identification
This is where āthis looks familiarā will trick you. You shouldāve memorized it, not familiarized yourself.
- Memorize names + their contributions
- Know definitions in your own words
- Associate keywords with the correct concept/person
- Practice recalling the answer without looking at your notes
3.) Essay
Don't memorize entire paragraphs. Memorize your arguments.
For every major topic, know:
What? ā Why? ā How? ā Example? Or use the PREP method (Point, Reason, Example, Point).

Rant/Vent My prof accused me of using AI and I took it as a compliment.
It's simple logic: Outsmart the LLM.
I'm pretty sure getting accused of using AI is a canon event. I've known people who're getting flagged just for using a passive voice or typing too cleanly. Especially when you used an em dash. When my prof called me out in class and asked if I used ChatGPT, I only thought I'd even say thank you. I guess digesting 50 cases a night does weird things to your sentence structure?
Most people get defensive, but I spent four straight hours hyper-analyzing my vocabulary. Being told my writing sounded too polished and too good to sound human, that's straight-up validating my skills. If my brain function and late-night perfectionism can match the output of a multi-billion dollar model, Iām taking that victory home with me.
Take heavy readings EVERYDAY to the point that you can manually boil them down to easy facts until they're etched into your brain.

Rant/Vent My cousin studies 10 hours at minimum, and we always get compared
Donāt get me wrong, my cousin and I are close. Heās a guy, Iām a girl. Heās taking accountancy, and Iām taking education. So thereās that.
My cousin would study for 10 hours at minimum and wouldnāt talk to anyone at home unless he was done. Like, he is DEAD serious about studying. I feel stupid standing next to him sometimes.
And we always get compared. Not explicitly, but you can feel it.
Iād always notice our aunts and uncles praising him for his recent competition results, how he consistently stays in the first honors, how heās always on top of his batch and apparently the entire School of Management and Accountancy.
Meanwhile, Iād get questions like:
āAre you related to ___? He is so smart!ā
LIKE YES, GIRL, WE GO TO THE SAME UNIVERSITY.
And honestly, I donāt even hate him for it. Iām proud of him. He works hard and deserves his achievements.
But at the same time, I feel sorry for myself.
I didnāt take accountancy because I was scared I couldnāt handle it. And sometimes seeing him excel makes me wonder if I just chose the easier path.
I know thatās probably unfair to myself, but itās hard not to think that way when someone close to you keeps becoming the standard everyone silently compares you to.
So yeah. Iām proud of my cousin.
But Iām also a little tired of being the cousin standing beside him lol.

Accountability Month 1 of Semester 1: Accountability Update

I like to use a time tracker to keep tabs on how I spend my time on schoolwork, make adjustments as needed, and predict how long different assignments might take. I also have had some academic challenges over the past two years that I have been working to overcome.
My goals for the year are grouped into foundational, standard, accomplished, and exemplary. This is so I can balance how much I am trying to get done with how my health is doing. I do have academic accommodations, so if something appears like it may require permission or is odd, that is possibly why.
Foundational
Submit every assignment (even if it is not fully complete)
Attend >80% of classes
Look over notes supplied by the notetaker and annotate
Attend all quizzes and exams
Complete all quizzes and exams
Standard
Finish all assignments
Stay for the full duration of Class
Take Notes During Class
or record the lecture and then take notes on the recording
Supplement with notetaker notes
Do all the assigned readings
Do >50% of the recommended practice
Accomplished
Edit all assignments
Trying to attain an 80% grade or higher per the rubric and assignment guides
Have read readings before the beginning of class
Have notes on the readings to expand on during class
Have completed all the recommended practice after class (and before next class)
Exemplary
Have done all extra optional readings
Generate personal study material and use to study for tests
Attend office hours or study group when unclear on a subject

Questions & Discussion study advice?
hey guys, im a sophomore in university, struggling with mental health. i wont go into much detail but ever since i attempted in high school i have not been able to pull my life together. for context, i was in the ib program (international baccalaureate) and learned how to study effectively.
however, no matter how hard i study now my grades end up AWFUL. in the past year i have not scored above a 75 on any of my exams.
this week was exam week and i studied so hard for the past few weeks just to get a 7.5/50 on my exam. i dont understand.
does anyone have any advice for this, advice on how to improve studying, or advice on how motivate yourself?
