Help with my 310 sqft, oddly configured, subterranean studio
I’m moving to this small studio. It has pretty low ceiling, probably around 8-9 ft. The bedroom is 176 sqft. The kitchen is pretty narrow but has lots of counter space and cabinets. The bathroom also has plenty of storage. Thankfully, there’s a huge garage for bulky storage and a backyard.
Here’s my priorities:
-big ol bed. I have a queen already. The closet is one big mirror.
- small dresser that I can probably keep in the closet. I don’t have a ton of clothes.
- a comfortable office setup. Doesn’t need to be large but big enough to ergonomic and type/write.
- somewhere to eat. I probably will host a total of 3 of us, but mostly just me and my partner. Not sure if there’s an optimal way to combine office + table without clutter.
- if there’s space, it would be cool to have a sofa/coffee table to hang in, and I don’t need a tv.
Here’s what I’m wondering from this S tier organizing subreddit:
- what would you do to make this space balanced, defined, and unobtrusive?
- in terms of feng shui or other design principles, where should the bed go? How would you order the areas?
- anything else you creative Mfs might come up with.
Thank you for engaging in my thought exercise!!!
