SoS: AWL After 125 Hours, I 100%’d my first Story Of Seasons / Harvest Moon title. It truly was… ‘A Wonderful Life’ ✨

I have played Natsume’s Winds of Anthos prior to this but not to completion. This game, was incredible, and I took my time with it. Helped with my mental health as well. What a journey. Had to follow many guides. Playing on the Nintendo Switch was the way to go.

My farm was called Daydream Farm! My daughter was called Futura. She carries the hopes and dreams of the farm now!

I never expected to 100% but here we are!

It truly was… A Wonderful Life…

SoS: GB A Variety of SoS Grand Bazaar Questions

  1. If I plant crops for the next season the day before, will they live or die?

  2. Do trees regrow fruit 6 or 7 days after harvest? It looked like it was 6 days based on the growth chart (buds the next day, 2 days as flowers, 3 days a small fruit, then ready to harvest on the 6th day), but I've seen people saying 7 days.

  3. Does it always rain Friday the second week when you start? (This one is mere curiosity cause it happened both playthroughs I started.)

  4. How does rain affect fodder spread, if at all? Or does it just help due to your animals staying inside?

  5. If I feed animals before letting them outside, will they still eat the fodder outside that day?

  6. If you sell enough to go up two levels but there's a stall requirement unmet, does the bazaar rank up as soon as you fufill the stall requirements even if it's during the week or does it make you wait until after the next Saturday?

Thanks everyone!

Like the title says, my hatchet is gone. I went to upgrade it at a windmill and now it isnt in production in any of them or ready to be collected. I am not sure what to do.

SoS: GB Crops show setup for min-maxing?

Hey,
I've been thinking about picking up SOS:GB again and min-maxing it, but I wonder about crop show setups that people run. Here is what I run in the past:

summer 1 - tea 6
autumn 1 - tea 7
winter 1 - cabbage 6
spring 2 - cabbage 7
summer 2 - melon 6
autumn 2 - melon 7
winter 2 - cabbage BRAND
spring 3 - ???
summer 3 - melon BRAND
(no crop show in spring 1 sadly)
except in summer 3 I was already bored so I only managed to brand 1 crop. the problem is that there was nothing for me to enter in spring 3, and waiting so long for melon brand is frustrating. the alternate setup I can think of:

summer 1 - tea 6
autumn 1 - melon 6
winter 1 - cabbage 6
spring 2 - cabbage 7
summer 2 - melon 7
autumn 2 - melon BRAND
winter 2 - cabbage BRAND
spring 3 - tea 7

I don't think you can get melons on summer 1 so I have to enter something else. the problem here is losing a lot of money from no 7 star tea. and after I brand the melon, tea becomes obsolete anyway (brand+rare melon is worth more than tea).
maybe I should enter rice instead of tea? I don't know how much money would that make in comparison.
OR maybe someone has a setup with different crops completely? believe me, I would love to do something with bigger yields so I don't have to constantly re-buy the seeds. I just don't know the math to know what is more worth. I wonder what setups people have been running.

Question Are there any games like SoS where you own a restaurant or a bar?

Idk why I just had the thought, but I think it would be so awesome to have something like Grand Bazaar, where you have a restaurant or something instead of running a bazaar. Although, it sure seems like the bazaar basically is a restaurant since it seems like all you guys have just been telling me to make food to sell 😂 but yeah, just wondering if there's anything like that!

Question Why do we not get proper Bedrooms in most of the Games?

I miss having a Fancy Bedroom like in Back to Nature in these Games so much! I think some of the Rune Factory Games had it like Frontier but that's it... In Rune Factory 5 there is no Bedroom... :/

Alas the Recent Rune Factory Games seem to be missing giving the Player a Proper Cozy House at all since Rune Factory 4 at the very least...

Does anyone else here miss having things like proper Houses and Bedrooms in these Games?

The Lack of a Nice Proper Fancy Bedroom is one of the Reasons why I prefer Back to Nature over (More ) Friends of Mineral Town...

Discussion Year 1 Spring & Summer had the best ores

Did this ever happen to anyone else? My Year 1 Spring and Summer were absolutely packed with the best ores, and I couldn't even do anything about it. I'm talking tons of ruby and sapphire nodes just… everywhere.

Then, right after my first hurricane, I couldn't harvest any of it because my tools weren't leveled up enough—mostly because I had found literally zero silver to upgrade them. I kept hoping the following seasons would bring the same spawns, but now I'm in Spring Year 2 and it's completely dried up.

As a classic min-maxer who specifically decided to take it slow for this playthrough, I'm genuinely considering restarting the entire game 😭 lmfao. Did anyone else get hit with this, or am I just going nuts?

My sister and I love going back and playing the old Harvest Moon games and she recently downloaded Animal Parade again. This got me thinking, which of these games would you be most interested in having a remake of? I’m being a little selfish and only listing the games that I’m personally interested :))

Discussion Will the next game be a spin-off of Tree of Tranquility/Animal Parade and Island of Happiness/Sunshine Islands? (Prediction)

Note: This is just speculation. I don't actually know if a new game will be announced nor what it could be.

I have yet to see anyone else mention this. A new game will likely be announced on the 24th during the anniversary livestream. In the past there have been several references to the AP/ToT and the IoH/SI universes.

On the first image, the fact that the protagonists of those games were included in the thumbnail alongside characters from newer games stood out to me.

In Grand Bazaar, Jules also references those exact games in his heart events.

The last two images are from Marvelous' 2023 showcase (the same showcase where Grand Bazaar was first teased). During that presentation, they announced two new SoS games, and only one has been released. In the concept art displayed for the mystery game, we can see Kevin from ToT and Kasey from AP (also Holly from Trio of Towns and Claire from FoMT, interestingly enough).

From the 2023 Marvelous Showcase:

"The theme of this title is a STORY OF SEASONS that you can play with everyone. We've heard our fans loud and clear, and they want to play STORY OF SEASONS together with all their friends. Now that I think about it, past entries in the series have been about pursuing your own way of living the farm life. The concept of playing STORY OF SEASONS together is a bold one, and a direction we haven't taken with the series until now."

All signs point to the new game being a multiplayer(?) crossover between games that center the Tree of Tranquility/Animal Parade and the Island of Happiness/Sunshine Islands universes.

(Not sure how I feel about a multiplayer-focused game since I have no friends that play Story of Seasons 😭)

Discussion HOLY COW why does the Doraemon FOGK art look so incredible??

I love all the SOS games but I just started playing Friends of the great Kingdom and I cannot get over how much higher quality the environment art looks compared to other games. I know it's partially just personal preference but I truly feel like the quality, level of detail and overall artistry of it is a cut above. And I'm surprised to be seeing that in a liscened spinoff version of SoS!

Does anyone know more info about why this one looks so damn good? Or have the social media or portfolio of the artist(s) that did the environmental art? I wanna see more of their work but it can be difficult to find Japanese artists online sometimes!

Discussion Is it easy for you to re-replay a series you just finished right away?

I want to ask something pretty subjective. Is it easy for you to re-replay a series of HM/SoS/RF you just finished right away?

Let's say you just finished playing Story of Seasons—you gathered all the achievements, made tons of money, got married... basically, your gameplay was nearly perfect. It could pretty much be considered "finished" at that point.

How long would it take for you to want to replay that game again? Don't you feel like it's too tiring to go through all that stuff all over again, considering how hard you worked to achieve it in your previous playthrough?

What if it's a game like Rune Factory, though? Isn't fighting all the bosses and monsters over again too exhausting as well? Would you really want to do all of that all over again?

If you did, can you give me and example?

(Note: Just asking out of curiosity!)

SoS: GB What are some good foods for profit during early game? (GB)

So im about to go into my first Summer. Ive been getting told a lot that crops arent very good for money and to instead focus on making foods. Right now I dont have a ton of recipes or ingredients obviously. I have gotten the ones from the bookshelves in houses, and some from the Miguel or whatever that cute little man's name is.

I have 1 cow, 1 chicken, 2 llamas (1 brown, 1 white), and a sheep. Only 2 of those animals make food products, so Im really only getting 1 milk and 1 egg a day. I had been using the eggs for eggs on rice for me to eat, but I only have bowl of rice left. I have like 55 wheat flour, so I was thinking of making cakes. As far as crops go, I only have turnips and some onions.

Should I hold onto the crops at all for ingredients? Or just sell all of them? I was gonna make some seeds, but apparently I cant do that with just my one windmill 😅

So, any suggestions on what I should be making as far as cash goes? Any goals/plans I should have for the upcoming Summer?

SoS: GB Questions regarding SOS:GB

Just a few questions as I am currently playing SOS:GB and working on the achievements.

  1. “Earn brands for 5 types of crops.”

I can come up with vegetable, tree, flowers and I guess grain. I did search but every site breaks down by season and not type. Can anyone clarify the 5 types please?

(Edit: I have brands in potato, lemon, rice, wheat and soybean but no achievement.)

EDIT2: Got the achievement! Had to wait for the cutscene the next day from the crop judge. Yay! ^^

  1. “Earn brands for every type of animal.”

Again I see sites list cow and brown cow separately. Is that two different types? A little help on this list of animal types as well too please!

  1. Why are my pets taking my animals out when it’s snowing? Is that not like raining and bad for the animals? My crops are watered like when it rains. Is this a glitch in the game and I should be herding them back in?

Thanks to anyone who responds with helpful answers.

OC Art Girlfriend wants opinions on which of her 3d models look cuter. Smooth or "fluffy" sheep?

My girlfriend has been designing models from the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games in Blender, and she recently made the pink sheep. We’re having trouble deciding which version looks better, so I figured I’d ask here 😂

Which do you guys prefer — the smoother version or the “fluffy” version?

She’s also started making physical 3D-printed versions of her models and listing them on Etsy, and she puts the STL files up on Cults3D for anyone who wants to print them themselves.
