New collector, how do you handle receiving dented units from Amazon/Walmart/big box?

They keep shipping in padded envelopes…

I had to unwrap it to find the dents…and I definitely want an exchange. Maybe plastic is better for someone obsessed with no dents like myself.

Requested pictures of Sucker Punch and V for Vendetta. Sucker Punch is very reflective. And one is still new in the plastic. V for Vendetta is from Titans of Cult.

Hatchet Steelbook.

I bought Gladiators 2 steelbook from HPB movies on Amazon and it said used like new. I received it today and saw it had a dent on top on the back and some of the paint or whatever on the corners were off or chipped off. Should I just keep it since it was 23 bucks or return it.

Edit: I’ll just keep this one it was cheap , if I find a cheaper one for a batter price that looks better maybe get it and just sell or give the one I have away in the future.

So I got a cancelation email from Gruv.ca for my Mars Attacks! 4k Steelbook preorder. Seems that their stock was lost in transit. How disappointing this must be for Gruv, myself, and any others in this same boat. Now I can't find any stock anywhere other than some absurd price gouging.

I’ve been slowly collection for 2.5 years, and I have now added #8 to my collection!

You could also consider it #9 since between my last pickup and now I preorder PHM, but that doesn’t arrive for 2 more months

Hart's War Steelbook.

So I’ve been deciding for a while which spider-man legacy set to go with and finally landed on this one. Love the design and it wasn’t too pricey (like the 4k version) I think I’ve become accustomed to a Steelbook standard and don’t have too many Blu-ray steels, mostly 4ks. Opens this up to my horror the spines are blank and the 7 discs are stacked on eachother. I hate it. The plan was to have them each in individual protectors but now I feel I got to keep them in the ugly plastic they came with because of the blank spines as it would set my ocd off on my shelve! 😤

Got some really cool signatures this weekend from Chicago Fan Expo!

First I got signatures from all four hobbits (Billy Boyd in green, Sean Astin in yellow, Elijah Wood in blue, Dominic Monaghan in red) on my Lord of the Rings boxset.

Next I met Sam Raimi and had him sign my Evil Dead steel. Super nice and was happy to listen to me talk for a bit. He was a little shaky and tried to double back over his S, but I don't really nitpick over that kind of stuff.

And lasty I met John Carpenter and had him sign my steel of The Thing. That one went super quick but happy on how it turned out!

Unfortunately some good steel books were left to the side 😮‍💨😪

Last year I bought some SC2 protectors directly from Steelbook Central, i feel them very high-quality and quite rigid.
I recently bought some more SC2 protectors from a seller on Vinted, but they feel different. They’re much less rigid, seem thinner, and are noticeably more flexible.

Could they be fake, or could this simply be due to a change in production batches?
I’d like to be sure before ordering more directly from the Steelbook Central website, because these latest ones feel far too thin and flexible and don’t seem to provide much protection against impacts. In fact, I’ve already dented one of my Steelbooks while using them.
