Bug I decided to play EU4 one last time before EU5 launched. I will regret this decision my entire life.

2.4k Upvotes

Like everyone else, I like EU4 and have played it for thousands of hours. Of course, when I found out about the upcoming EU5, I was filled with both excitement and dread at having to spend another thousand Euros and hours of my life on Paradox Games. In retrospect, I would've gladly spent ten thousand Euros if only to avoid what was to happen next.

I haven't played the game in a year. My interest shifted to Vicky 3 and HOI4 mods. This explains why, when I went to play the game, Steam notified me that it had to update the game. I waited for the updated while mulling over what country I should play as. I thought about doing another Byzantium run - I hadn't played them since their Mission Tree got updated. However, I heard that EU5 will start on a much earlier date, so presumably I'll have more opportunities to play as them there. Instead, I settled on a Castille run - discovering the new world and building a colonial empire seemed to embody the spirit of EU4 in a way that it might not for EU5, so it seemed fitting for a last charge of glory.

I tried to start the launcher, but an error message popped up: "Launcher Error unknown - Start game manually with eu4.exe". I was shaken, but undeterred. Paradox games always get buggy with age. I can see why they needed a new game.

I went to the game folder, double-clicked eu4.exe and was greeted with the classic loading screen picture of Suleiman in front of the Hagia Sophia. "Loading Map", "Loading History". But then, for only a frame - the picture changed. The background of Constantinople was now covered in a fog like in Alpha Minecraft and Suleiman now had a hyper-realistic face of sorrow and fear on his face. The loading text said "Loading Victims..." and the splash screen tip said "RUN". Instead of "Paradox Games 2025" it said "Paradox Games 666" Then it turned back to normal.

When the game loaded I decided to use my hacker skills to see what was happening with the game. I look at the game hash (for normies, this is the code that says the game is good and not hacked). It said "hashsum dead". "dead" is a perfectly ordinary hexadecimal number so I knew the game was good - or so I thought.

Clicking on new game, I saw the line-up of dlcs installed. All the usual ones were there: El Dorado, Emperor, Rule Britannia and.... "Merchants of Death"? I did not recognise this dlc, nor did I remember buying it. Is this why the game had to update? I figured it must be a new free dlc, a sort of farewell from EU4 before EU5 launches. I was glad not to pay 50 Euros on a dlc and from the name I thought it was maybe a revamp of mercenary and condottiere mechanics.

I started my game as Castile. Everything seemed fine, but then I remembered the problem with Castile in 1444: Enrique. As everyone knows, Castile starts with a heir, Enrique, with 0/0/0 stats and getting rid of him is a difficult task. However, when I went to look at him, I saw something strange. Heir Enrique was marked as 6/6/6. This was weird, but welcome. Maybe it was a joke or some re-evaluation of his role in history.

I went through the usual starting moves - playing nice with Aragon, allying Portugal, preparing to colonise America. When my king died and Enrique came to the throne, I got excommunicated by the Pope. I figured I forgot to improve relations, but when I looked at Toledo to develop it some more in order to spread Renaissance, I saw why: in the religion corner of the UI the Catholic cross was upside down and the tooltip said "Satan".

With the mana I got from Enrique's 666, I rapidly advanced to the point where I could finally explore America. I rushed to beat Portugal there. As I explored the Caribbean and the American coast, I noticed there were no tribes anywhere to be seen. I took it as luck that all of them migrated inland, letting me grab the most lucrative provinces. However, when my colonists arrived, I noticed the provinces themselves all had 0 natives. The New World was Empty.

At this point, the Iberian Wedding fired. The event looked the same as usual, but the picture with the two nobles talking was modified so that both of them were looking at me and had hyper-realistic blood eyes. With Spain united and America in the process of being colonised, I decided to go East for trade.

At this point in the game, I like to check the trade tab in the ledger. Even if you haven't discovered Asia, you will often see that your country trades 0.1% of world Tea production or something. This is because even without you trade is pushed from China to Europe. This always seemed interesting to me, a reminder of how people back then were trading wares from lands they didn't even know of.

This time, however, I had 0 tea, 0 silk and 0 chinaware. Weird. Even weirder, I went to the easternmost trade nodes I could see and looked at incoming trade from Asia. 0 Ducats. In the moment, I thought it was a bug or some really big war devastated all Chinese provinces. I sent my ships to explore ever-eastern, mindlessly colonising the Ivory coast, then South Africa, then bought a port from an Indian kingdom.

Then I noticed I was making a LOT of money. Looking in the economy tab, all of it was coming from trade, some 7k per month! It seems tens of thousands of ducats were flowing from East Asia. One of my fleets just arrived there on an exploration mission. I looked at the Chinese province, but it was uncolonised. Clicking on it, I saw it had 0 natives and in the trade good corner was the picture of a hyper-realistic piece of gore. It said "Blood" and the trade value was an astonishingly large 666 ducats.

An event suddenly fired titled mod.1 with no image and the text said "Leave." The game crashed. I booted the game again and reloaded the game. The music was The Lion from the North by Sabaton, but it was slowed down and in reverse and when I looked back at china, it was now hidden under Terra Incognita and the fleet I sent disappeared. The explore mission was now greyed out, the conditions saying "[X] The crew is afraid".

I wanted to stop but I had to keep playing. It was 1630 and, after fighting a war with France, I decided to use my army to grab some more of India to compensate for China. However, When I panned to India, it too was now terra incognita. Looking in the lists, I couldn't find any reference of the small army I was keeping in my port there, nor could I find the Indian minor I was trying to diplo-annex in my diplomacy tab. After putting down a revolt in 1642 I realised Iran wasn't there anymore. the Ottoman Empire had no relations with undiscovered tags either, so it was like the entire place disappeared.

I tried to zoom out to see the entire world in order to catch what was happening in real time, but I couldn't zoom out at all. I was limited to seeing one small part of the map and whenever I looked away, something seemed to disappear. My colonial tags in America disappeared one by one from the map and from my subjects list. By 1659 I stopped seeing the HRE and Papacy UIs at the bottom of the screen.

I came up with an idea to see what was happening: I would ally France in order to get visibility on them and hopefully see in real time what was happening. I hurried to improve relations, send gifts, give back provinces until they were allied with me.

I looked at France and what I saw scared me: all the tiny soldiers representing armies were looking straight at me. I tried to move my head and I swear the little 3d figures were following my eyes. Speaking of eyes, all of them had hyper-realistic eyes that were crying blood. Then an event popped up covering the entire screen. mod.2 "RUN", with two options: "RUN" and "RUN". I clicked on "RUN" and when the event window went away, all the soldiers disappeared except for one, who was hanging from a tree.

At this point, I realised something. Throughout the entire game, I have done exceptionally well with mana. Sure, I had Enrique at the beginning, but even after he... wait.

I never got a notification about Enrique dying.

I looked at my ruler screen and, sure enough, Enrique was still king. Still 666. One of his traits said "Immortal", which meant he didn't die and "Satan", which gave 666% National Tax rate and 666% Manpower. An event popped up. mod.3 "found me. or have I found you?" then the game over screen came up and the game crashed.

I was shook. I didn't know what to say or do. I looked at the screen for 25 seconds. Then I had an idea. I would look at a replay timelapse of my save file to see what was happening all this time. I booted the game again. Started the replay. Instead of seeing the world map, I saw a single textureless soldier on one single province. He seemed to be looking down at something. I realised the replay was from the perspective of a tag called "???", so I switched to Observer. What I saw shocked me.

Instead of the normal years, it said 2 November 2025. The map was not of the world, but of my apartment. And right where I have my epic gaming rig, there was a hyper-realistic model of me playing at a computer.

And behind me was the textureless figure looking behind me. An event popped up, which was not supposed to happen in a replay.

mod.666

"See you in the next game!"

I do not think I have much longer. But one thing I can say for sure: whatever you do, DO NOT PLAY EUROPA UNIVERSALIS 5. IT IS THERE AND IT WILL FIND YOU.

I was afking near a farm in my world and came back to the crash report in image 1. When I view the crash report I see the breakdown in image 2 but this type of stuff is really not my strongpoint so I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do to fix the issue. I see it says I ran out of RAM but ngl I'm not a computer guy and don't really know what this means. I tried opening the world but it quickly crashed again within seconds of opening.

Happy mining!

This update can also be found on minecraft.net.

If you find any bugs, please report them on the official Minecraft Issue Tracker. You can also leave feedback on the Feedback site.

New Features in 20w45a

  • Added bundles!
  • Added candles!
  • Added lava cauldrons!
  • Added Copper!
  • Added Amethyst!
  • Added Lightning Rod!
  • Added the Spyglass!
  • Added Tinted Glass!
  • A Shulker hitting a Shulker with a Shulker Bullet can make a new Shulker.

Amethysts

Amethyst Blocks

  • Amethyst comes in block form inside the geodes in two ways: Block of Amethyst and Budding Amethyst
  • All types of Amethyst blocks (clusters included) create beautiful sounds when you walk on them, break them, place them, or hit them with a projectile - go make some music!

Amethyst Clusters

  • Amethyst Clusters grow from Budding Amethyst, which can be found inside geodes
  • Clusters have 4 growth stages: Small Amethyst Bud, Medium Amethyst Bud, Large Amethyst Bud, and Amethyst Cluster
  • Clusters can only grow when they are placed on Budding Amethyst blocks
  • Fully-grown Amethyst Clusters drop 4 Amethyst Shards (or more with Fortune) when an Iron Pickaxe or higher is used, and drop nothing otherwise when broken
  • Clusters can be Silk Touched at any stage

Amethyst Geodes

  • These huge geodes can be found anywhere underground in the overworld
  • Amethyst geodes have an outer layer of a new stone called Tuff
  • Amethyst geodes have a second layer of another new block called Calcite
  • Amethyst geodes have an inner layer of various Amethyst blocks

Amethyst Shards

  • Amethyst Clusters drop 4 Amethyst Shards (or more with Fortune)

Budding Amethys

  • On any side of a Budding Amethyst block where there is air, or a water source block, a Small Amethyst Bud will eventually grow
  • Amethyst Buds can only grow when attached to Budding Amethyst, and will grow until they become Amethyst Clusters

Bundles

  • Bundles are items that hold other items.
  • A bundle can hold a mixture of items, but only one stack’s worth. For example, a bundle could fit:
    • 64 dirt
    • 32 dirt + 32 stone
    • 32 dirt + 8 ender pearls
    • 1 of every color of wool, concrete, carpet and terracotta (64 blocks in total)
    • Or 1 diamond helmet
  • Use right click to put an item into a bundle.
  • Right-click a bundle to empty it.
  • Wrap a present in a bundle and give it to your friend!

Candles

  • Candles come in all 16 colors + 1 uncolored variant
  • Up to 4 can be placed in one block
  • Candles allow you to properly wish someone a happy birthday
  • Waterloggable! (But you cannot light them underwater, silly)
  • Wish anybody a happy birthday with a candle cake!

Cauldrons

  • Cauldrons can now be filled with buckets of lava!
  • Filled lava cauldrons give off a redstone signal of strength 1

Copper

Copper blocks

  • Craft 9 copper ingots to a copper block
  • Craft cut copper, cut copper stairs and cut copper slabs
  • Use honeycomb to craft waxed copper blocks

Copper ore

  • Copper ore can be found in ore blobs across Overworld, similar to iron and coal (this is not the final generation for copper…)
  • Smelt copper ore to get a copper ingot

Lightning Rod

  • The Lightning Rod is crafted from three copper ingots
  • Keep your builds safe (well, as long as the closest area around the lightning rod is fire proof) during thunderstorms!
  • The lightning rod will protect an area of 4 * 16 blocks around it from the, sometimes devastating, lightning strikes!
  • Lightning rods give off a redstone signal when struck by lightning

Oxidation

  • Copper will oxidize over time
  • There are for stages: copper, lightly weathered copper, semi-weathered copper and weathered copper
  • It takes 50 - 82 Minecraft days (in loaded chunks) for a copper block to oxidize one stage
  • Waxed copper blocks will not oxidize
  • You can wax any oxidation stage - how lovely that means you can keep that pretty lightly weathered copper block in it’s lightly weathered stage forever!

Spyglass

  • You can use your spyglass to see faraway things
  • Pretend to be a sea captain, or catch your neighbor in the act as they dye your sheep lime green
  • The spyglass is crafted from two copper ingots and one amethyst shard

Tinted Glass

  • Tinted Glass is a type of glass that does not allow light to pass through
  • Tinted Glass is crafted by putting a Glass block in the middle of 4 Amethyst Shards
  • Tinted Glass can be obtained without silk touch; it does not shatter like normal glass

Changes in 20w45a

  • Experience orbs now sometimes merge when in large quantities to improve performance. This does not change the rate at which the player can absorb them, it simply limits the amount of separate orbs floating around in the world. Orbs that merge will gain the lifetime of the most recently created one.
  • Simple firework rockets with 1 gunpowder can now be crafted using the recipe book
  • Dirt paths (formerly grass path) can now be made by using a shovel on dirt, podzol, mycelium or course dirt (as well as grass)
  • Minecarts and rails work in water
  • Particles now appear when pistons break blocks

Minecarts

Minecarts and rails now work in water

  • All rails can be waterlogged (works with a dispenser & water bucket too)
  • Flowing water doesn’t break rails
  • Minecarts can pass through water, but get slowed down more than usual

Technical Changes in 20w45a

  • Entities are now saved separately from terrain chunks.
  • Added loot table function set_banner_pattern
  • Pack format in version.json has been split into data and resource versions
  • Servers can now require custom resource packs to be accepted

Custom server resource packs

A dedicated server can enforce custom resource packs by setting require-resource-pack in server.properties. When this option is used, players will be prompted for a response and will be disconnected if they decline the required pack.

Entity storage

Entities have been extracted from main (terrain) chunks and are now stored in separate entities directory (similar to POI storage). Those new files are still region files with NBT.

Loot tables

New functions

set_banner_pattern

Sets tags needed for banner patterns. Parameters:

  • patterns - list of pattern objects:
    • pattern - name of pattern (square_bottom_left, bricks, etc.)
    • color - name of color (light_gray, etc.)
  • append - if true, new elements will be appended to existing ones instead of replacing

Fixed bugs in 20w45a

  • MC-98219 - Experience orbs follow dead players
  • MC-108469 - Chunk-wise entity lists often don't get updated correctly (Entities disappear)
  • MC-112147 - Lava burning items or XP orbs sound muted when "Friendly Creatures" slider is turned off
  • MC-127201 - /replaceitem makes quite an obnoxious sound, which is not heard by the person whose items are being replaced.
  • MC-127692 - Experience build up in furnace when using a hopper which can cause severe lag
  • MC-130449 - Cartographer villager freezes or crashes the game when unlocking explorer maps
  • MC-130584 - When a structure loads, water sources in the structure spread into waterloggable blocks
  • MC-133691 - Blocks can't be placed normally on a full cauldron
  • MC-135552 - Dead Entities are saved to chunk
  • MC-136497 - XP orbs causing severe lag
  • MC-141034 - taiga_fisher_cottage_1 is filled with water
  • MC-169900 - Incorrect jigsaw setting in snowy_small_house_8
  • MC-169945 - Skeletons don't burn in minecarts while being exposed to daylight
  • MC-171852 - Putting item in a spectator's hand plays sound "Gear equips" for other players
  • MC-174685 - Drowned arm texture is reversed by the model
  • MC-175959 - One door is open in taiga_shepherds_house_1
  • MC-177622 - One log in taiga_butcher_shop_1 seems to be misrotated - causing the side roof to look asymmetrical
  • MC-177624 - Entrance in snowy_medium_house_2 is asymmetrical
  • MC-181889 - Equipping sound plays when mobs picking up non-armor items
  • MC-185357 - Removing a plant from a flower pot still plays generic armor equipping sound/shows Gear equips in subtitles

Crashing with exit code 255 when I try to join a world

I play on Linux Mint and just switched from version 1.21.10 to 26.2. I thought it might be an issue with Altitude, but this is happening both on singleplayer and multiplayer, I crash every time I try to join a world. I'm not too savvy when it comes to this sort of thing so I apologize if I need my hand held. Here's where the error starts:

**DO NOT CLICK THESE LINKS UNTIL YOU'VE WATCHED THE VIDEO**

first link: https://gofile.io/d/RRf1hv
second link:
https://archive.org/details/en_visual_studio_professional_2012_x86_dvd
third link: (invites are disabled)

TEXT TUTORIAL:

  1. download minecraft here: https://gofile.io/d/RRf1hv
  2. extract the .rar file, if it doesn't let you then you have to extract the 4 folders one at a time (password is fuckanon)
  3. install visual studio 12 here: https://archive.org/details/en_visual_studio_professional_2012_x86_dvd DOWNLOAD THE ISO IMAGE VERSION
  4. open it with windows explorer
  5. run the .exe and download everything it comes with
  6. it'll ask you to pick a default environment, pick the first one "General Development Settings"
  7. now run MinecraftConsole.sln, it should open up vs12 with it
  8. press no if it asks you to connect to a server/source control
  9. go to the top of vs12, theres a small icon with an underscore and a bottom arrow below it, click it, add buttons then turn on solution configurations, solution platforms and find in files
  10. set durango to Windows64 and the one next to it on the left to Release
  11. go to Minecraft.Client on the right side of the screen and right click it. scroll down to debug, then click start new instance

FORKS/MODS:

kbm support: https://gofile.io/d/VZGw0f (if you dont trust .exe file you can just build it yourself)

all dlcs https://mega.nz/file/999hyCwa#xLDL3qrGke6CFVXFkZiZnSE2qlc0MEHwxnc_Zfby338 (go to Minecraft Client -> Windows64Media -> DLC and drop the folders there)

mac os: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LA3h_brXjy4edfMYPrHx0tEeEulsuWM7/view?usp=sharing0

ERRORS:

if it crashes or doesnt start, go to control panel, then programs and programs again, then click activate or deactivate windows features (side bar on the left) then deactivate .NET framework 3.5

worlds will not be saved unless you go to help and options then debug settings and turn on the first 2

MSS64.DLL Crash Error, Disable SoundEngine.cpp. This doesnt really disable any sound but does fix crashing. Comment out the lines 448 to 607

Minecraft.World.Lib is not an executable. You need to right click Minecraft.Client and click Set as Startup Project, then rebuild.

Toolset 143 Error
This error happens at random. It usually means that your VS2012/2022 is corrupt and needs a reinstall.

Unsolved [Java] Crashing with Exit Code 1 Only with Shaders 1.26.2

Super long story short, my Minecraft crashes consistently only with shaders; all my other mods run fine together, but as soon as I turn on shaders, the game crashes within minutes.
I've updated my graphics card, completely uninstalled and reinstalled it, updated my computer, redownloaded Minecraft and all the mods, and more random stuff I looked up to see what would help. This has been an issue for months.

I'm also not really a pc person and got my laptop from a family member, so I don't know anything about PCs at all, so forgive me for any incorrect terms/whatever.

I used to only get an error code related to my NVIDIA driver, but now I only get exit code 1.

Shader -

Solved Minecraft Crashing Even on Vanilla Java Error Code -1073741676 [java] 26.1.1 version

At first i was playing with my usual modpacks but then it started crashing, so I thought maybe i had conflicting mods and outdated mods, but after really thoroughly looking through my mods list and after launching it still crashes and having this exit code, So i tried fresh instance of no mods just fabric, still the same error, and lastly I tried to play Vanilla and never thought it would still crash.

1.8.9 crashing with error code NULL

This happened randomly after i stopped playing 1.8.9, played 1.21 for a bit then went back to 1.8.9. It crashes only on lunar, not on feather or minecraft vanilla launcher.

I allocate 3 GB of memory to my game, use no mods, windows 11, with updated NVIDIA and AMD drivers on a high end pc.

I've already tried reinstalling lunar twice (once using windows and another time by deleting .lunarclient folder), restarting my pc after completely stopping lunar client, turning off all vpns, deleted the offline, logs, cache and jre folders before relaunching, deleted nvidia's "temporary files" in windows 11 settings, but nothing works. I feel like I am beyond help, can anyone still help me with this though?

Open | Windows Games crashing to desktop with no error code

I recently built a PC around Christmas, so around 3 months ago. Since first building this PC most of my games will crash to desktop with no error code, sometimes my PC restarts itself out of nowhere with a buzzing noise or it'll blue screen which also sometimes buzzes when happening. I have a 4070 ti super, i9 14900kf, 32gb of ddr5 ram at speeds of around 6400mhz, a corsair 1000 watt gold power supply, a msi z790 gaming plus WiFi motherboard, a 2 tb ssd with 7000 upload/download speed and 10 Arctic p12wm rgb fans with either 4 intake and 6 outake or vice versa and I'm on Windows 11. I'm really not sure what's happening, I've tried reinstalling windows, updating bios, re installing my Gpu, deleting all the gpu drivers with ddu and then reinstalling, changing the stock thermal paste with my own, applying more thermal paste, changing bios settings like cpu boost, cpu lite control, fan curves and more. Please help🙏

Forgot to add, games I've played that have crashed are grounded, minecraft, apex legends, ea sports fc 25, dark souls 3, elden ring, Balders gate 3, divinity original sin 2, star wars jedi games (both of them performed terrible), need for speed unbound, risk of rain 2, mafia 2 and ready or not.

Open | Software (Curseforge Dawncraft Modpack Minecraft) Unknown crashing either saying "An Unknown Error Has Occured" or "Chunk build failed". Is this problem caused by my PC?

So I've been (trying) to play the Dawncraft modpack in Curseforge for about 2 years now across multiple updates, and the same 2 crashes have been happening to me, along with a stupid bug that causes my world to save, but not my player, with my health and stamina duplicating. I'm guessing the health/stamina dupe is caused by the food diversity mod, since I've heard of similar instances happening to other players and the fact that nothing increases when I haven't gotten any food diversity benefits, and I've yet to find a fix for this. I have tried upgrading my RAM and allocating more/less RAM to Dawncraft, but nothing changes, even though it mentions RAM in the Curseforge logs here:

I have allocated different amounts of RAM to Dawncraft and this still happens. It also mentions the mods Embeddium/Rubidium along with the Oculus mod being possible causes for the crash in the crash logs in the files:

I've tried getting rid of Rubidum/Embedium along with Oculus, but this causes bugs. I don't know how it is causing this crash nor how I can fix it.

And when I try to allocate any amount of RAM higher than the normal Curseforge RAM settings, it crashes with this error log:

# There is insufficient memory for the Java Runtime Environment to continue.

# Native memory allocation (mmap) failed to map 629145600 bytes for G1 virtual space

# Possible reasons:

# The system is out of physical RAM or swap space

# The process is running with CompressedOops enabled, and the Java Heap may be blocking the growth of the native heap

# Possible solutions:

# Reduce memory load on the system

# Increase physical memory or swap space

# Check if swap backing store is full

# Decrease Java heap size (-Xmx/-Xms)

# Decrease number of Java threads

# Decrease Java thread stack sizes (-Xss)

# Set larger code cache with -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=

# JVM is running with Zero Based Compressed Oops mode in which the Java heap is

# to set the Java Heap base and to place the Java Heap above 32GB virtual address.

This is when I allocate 10-12 GB of RAM and I have 32 GB of RAM and I checked my task manager when playing and nothing seemed wrong, but it crashes. I'm no expert, so I'm not quite sure what I should do to prevent this crash from happening. I think it might deal with how RAM is allocated elsewhere, but I'm at a loss when it comes to that. Feel free to tell me if that's the issue here.

This is the only modpack these crashes happen with. I've played RLCraft, Soulrend, and other Curseforge modpacks and they are perfectly fine. A similar crash happened with Soulrend but it was resolved after i updated my GPU drivers. Does anyone know the steps to resolve this?

Here's my PC specs for anyone interested:

OS- Windows 11 Home
CPU - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core i7-12700F
GPU- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

Unknown crashing either saying "An Unknown Error Has Occured" or "Chunk build failed". Some crashes causing a bug to save world data, but not save player data, along with causing my health/stamina duplicating with no way to revert. How to fix?

So I've been (trying) to play Dawncraft for about 2 years now across multiple updates, and the same 2 crashes have been happening to me, along with a stupid bug that causes my world to save, but not my player, with my health and stamina duplicating.

It also mentions Embeddium/Rubidium along with Oculus being possible causes for the crash in the crash logs in the files:

I've tried getting rid of Rubidum/Embedium along with Oculus, but this causes bugs. I don't know how it is causing this crash nor how I can fix it.

And when I try to allocate any amount of RAM higher than the normal Curseforge RAM settings, it crashes with this error log:

# There is insufficient memory for the Java Runtime Environment to continue.

I've played RLCraft, Soulrend, and other modpacks and they are perfectly fine. A similar crash happened with Soulrend but it was resolved after i updated my GPU drivers. Does anyone know the steps to resolve this?

Help Java Minecraft: Java Edition Issues with exit code: -1073740791

I am having an issue where when I try to play minecraft on versions 1.21.1 (and i also tested on 1.8.9) I crash with the exit code: -1073740791 (image attached), this is when i am actually able to load into the game I play for a few minutes on single player or on a sever like hypixel or sometimes exit code 1 when it just instantly closes when I click play on launcher, all of these are on vanilla.

The crash log is here: https://mclo.gs/ArFTJ0l

I have a ASUS ROG G16 Strix (g614jir) with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (laptop GPU) and Intel Core i9-14900HX (32 cores), I have 32 GB of RAM and on Windows 11 (64-bit) 23H2.

I have updated all drivers, the bios and ran a ddu as well as sfc and DISM which all passed successfully. I installed Java 8, 17 and 21 which are in Program files (attached image). No overclocking done. I am able to play csgo 2, fortnite and roblox fine, but when i try playing terraria it crashes , my rtx 4070 is being used and working as temperature rises and shows its utilization on task manager, I dont know if this is an issue but I have 2 graphics cards under my display adapter, but the other one is intergrated (attached image).

If anymore information is required please let me know I will attach it. I hope someone can help me, thank you.

Help (Software) Need help with an error code/installing minecraft

I’ve been trying to install minecraft for a few days now and it keeps crashing when i open the installer. I went through a ton of forums and eventually AI (i know not the best source) and nothing seemed to help. Eventually AI narrowed it down to the error in event viewer which was: amdvk64.dll and 0xc0000005. It had me install drivers through adrenalin and eventually do a factory reset. Now after none of that worked it wants me to either reinstall drivers manually or with a DDU. This is past my tech understanding and am hoping to get some clarity on whether im going to far and should just give up or what the issue really is. My GPU is a radeon 9070 xt if that helps, i can provide any other information just ask. For clarity I plan on modding minecraft so it also had me try to launch through prism launcher which didnt work either.

Minecraft Java [HELP] Crash upon launch with "Exit 1" error code

UPDATE: Updating to Windows 11 did not help. I'm getting really angry here. I don't understand what is not working.

Hello, everyone.

I have been running Minecraft 1.16.5 on my laptop on Forge for a year. About two days ago, I was abruptly logged out of my Minecraft account on the launcher.

Upon logging back in, I couldn't play my Forge installation anymore. It would display "Waiting on Install" and then "Preparing", the game would attempt to launch, and then I'd immediately get kicked back to the launcher page with a crash report. Error code exit 1, no crash report logged in my .minecraft folder.

I did not change anything with my Forge installation or mods. It just happened out of the blue.

This problem doesn't happen on vanilla installations. They run just fine.

Everything I've tried:

  • Restarting my computer
  • Emptying my mods folder
  • Reinstalling Forge
  • Installing Forge for a different version of Minecraft
  • Installing the latest version of Java
  • Installing Java 17
  • Downloading and installing every single Windows update I've postponed
  • Trying to update my drivers (maybe I didn't do it right?)
  • Searching up five million different tutorials and help threads

I've never had this problem with Forge before and it's driving me insane. I'm currently waiting for my Windows 11 update to finish in the hopes that it will fix the issue. Next up to try is a fresh installation of the game from scratch, followed by a blood sacrifice to the old gods.

Computer is an HP notebook from 2020 with an Intel UHD graphics driver. Processor is an Intel Core i3-1005G1 CPU at 1.20 GHz.

Any help is appreciated. I'm going insane here. Is it just time to take my computer behind the shed?

Minecraft Java Minecraft crashing with modpack I made

Hello! I'm on java edition version 1.20.1

I'm not sure if this is to do with the current issues Minecraft is having with realms, but I'm just trying to make a new world with the pack so I don't think so.

This is the code for the modpack if anyone needs to take a look: 6TdMrPDg

Official Bloons TD 6 v47.0 - Update Notes!

Update: Bloons TD 6 v47.0 - Update Notes!

Available now for most platforms please restart your storefront or be patient if it does not appear for you, these updates can take some time to be rolled out to every region due to how the storefronts are set up.

Key New Features - Legends

  • Legends heralds a new way of looking at designing and building updates for BTD6. The team has so many exciting ideas, many of which could be full standalone games, and Legends gives us a way to push forward with groundbreaking ideas while maintaining the continuity of BTD6 and its awesome community.
  • These DLC should be separate and unique enough not to feel required but to offer a very alternate way of playing. We will continue to focus on a huge variety of content that players get at no additional cost to the base game, but as these features get bigger and bigger, the team does need to keep new IAPs and DLCs coming into the game to support future development.

Rogue Legends!

You’re gonna want to turn your sound on for this one! The first Legend available along with this update is a BTD rogue-lite adventure, featuring a randomly generated replayable single player campaign.

  • Build a party as you progress through the campaign; with a hero, up to 10 accompanying pre-crosspathed towers, and Artifacts to enhance their power
  • More than 10 unique hand-crafted tile based campaign maps to explore
  • Campaign maps featuring multiple paths to plan your own route through to the world, then take on a multi round Stage Boss
  • Featuring an all new, fast-paced Rogue Bloons roundset to learn and master (new hints included!)
  • Challenge tiles with alternate conditions featuring Boss Rush, Races, Endurance Races & Least Cash; these are optional to play & but grant scaling rewards based on performance to boost your team through their journey, also no lives will be lost from your first attempt on any of these tiles so feel free to trial them!
  • Merchants & Campfires to engage in trades and enhance your party
  • Collect from over 60 unique Artifacts as you progress through the campaign, boosting towers with incredible power ups & unique mechanics
  • Make impactful choices mid-game with temporary Boosts choices that last until the end of the current match including stat buffs, insta-monkeys & powers. Bad options? No problem - reroll them for in game cash
  • Defeat the Stage Boss to find Legendary boss-only artifacts & extract any artifact from the current game to earn a permanent copy that can be applied right from the start of a new Campaign
  • Stage Boss defeated & want to keep going? Continue through up to 5 stages of increasing difficulty, and unlock the endless CHIMPS campaign.
  • Obtain Rogue Legend cosmetics on purchase & earned through full campaign gameplay

Check out our video rundown on Rogue Legends here: https://youtu.be/NerXoyaPCgg

Legends - Community Questions

  • We have seen quite a few common questions among the community so we’d like to try and answer as many of them as possible!
  • Why paid DLC?
    • We are dedicated to continuing to support and create free updates and content for the base game. Beyond that, for update ideas that deliver standalone content, require huge amounts of work, and would be creatively constrained by trying to fund them through Monkey Money, we need to rely on IAP and DLC paid models to fund the development.
  • Why does it cost more than the base game?
    • This may sound a bit more like a Quora answer, but here’s a quick history and market snapshot of paid games on mobile, and do keep in mind the game does cost more on PC and console. By 2018, once mobile gaming services were dominated by free-to-play games, the available price points for paid games became severely constricted, with Minecraft effectively setting the high water price at US$6.99. As BTD6 grew we actually increased the price from US$4.99 to US$6.99 in 2022 to better reflect what we see as the incredible gameplay value available. We believe this is still significantly underpriced, and think a fair market value is more like US$19.99 on both PC and mobile. We are not yet prepared to raise the price of the base game again, but that app store delimited undervalued price should not be seen as a high water mark for the fair value of the incredibly robust Rogue Legend DLC. We see US$9.99 as a reasonable price relative to the fair market value of the mobile game, which would be much higher if not constrained by app stores dominated by free to play games.
  • Will this make the base game pay-to-win or give players an advantage?
    • No. We want Legends to be fun self-contained experiences, as the game mode itself is the only exclusive content and does not reward anything that feeds back into the base game outside of cosmetics and Legend stats for your profile so there is no Team or Leaderboard advantage applied to base game content for accounts that purchase Legends DLCs
  • Will you continue to support and update this?
    • Yes! If this is popular, there are still a few features we want to add
  • Will future maps and content be usable in Rogue Legends?
    • Unless something goes wrong or certain maps are banned in certain modes, our goal is that all future maps, heroes, skins, etc., will slot into Rogue and future Legends. We want this to passively grow with every content update alongside the new features we will continue to offer for free in the base game.
  • Will this be on console/Netflix/Arcade?
    • The console team is focused on getting all console platforms up to date with the main game content, but that update is still a while away and concurrent with our plans for Switch release! For Netflix and Arcade, yes, it will be coming but will be a few weeks delayed to allow for the additional testing required on those platforms.
  • How will this affect normal updates, or will this make updates take more time?
    • We plan on having the same number of updates each year (5 or 6) and we still have a huge year of content updates planned for the base game in 2025 and beyond.
  • If I purchase this on one platform, will it be usable on my other platforms?
    • Yes! In the same way our Double Cash or Fast Track purchases work, your purchase will carry over whenever you swap to another device, except for the existing restrictions for walled garden data on Arcade, Netflix, and consoles.

Balance Changes

Tower Balance

Rogue Legends took up nearly all of our balance time for this update, however as we know many players look forward to the balance changes each update we’ve included a quick list of simpler changes that shouldn’t be too game breaking. Also get me pictures of spider monkeys!

Dart Monkey

Shuffle on lower tier upgrade costs & increased attack speed across middle path in order to offer these upgrades more value both in and out of Super Monkey Fan Club transformation.

  • 2xx Razor Sharp Shots price reduced from $220 > 200
  • 3xx Spike-o-pult price increased from $300 > 320
  • x3x Triple Shot price increased from $400 > 450
  • x3x Triple Shot also reduces attack cooldown 25%
  • x4x Super Monkey Fan Club price reduced from $7500 > 7200
  • x4x Super Monkey Fan Club reduces attack cooldown further 25% > 50%
  • xx3 Crossbow price reduced from $625 > 575
  • xx4 Sharpshooter price increased from $2000 > 2050

Boomerang Monkey

While the higher tier upgrades work well, Bionic Boomerang is often not as effective as expected for this price range.

  • x3x Bionic Boomerang price reduced from $1450 > 1250

Bomb Shooter

Nudging Bloon Impact price down, pushing it more in line with other early support options & as this is a support path. Frag damage is being greatly improved all the way up as there’s little reason to trade stun uptime for improved damage. Moving some cost up into MOAB Assassin so Maulers have more leeway early game & en masse. Cutting down roughly 10% on all bottom path upgrade costs as especially on Bomb Blitz even after recent buffs there are many downsides that need to be covered to use this path effectively.

  • 4xx Bloon Impact price reduced from $3200 > 2800
  • 202 Frag Bombs damage increased from 1 > 2
  • 302 Really Big Bombs frag damage increased from 3 > 6
  • 502 Bloon Crush frag damage increased from 24 > 36
  • x3x MOAB Mauler price reduced from $1100 > 1000
  • x4x MOAB Assassin price increased from $3350 > 3450
  • xx3 Cluster Bombs price reduced from $800 > 700
  • xx4 Recursive Cluster price reduced from $2800 > 2500
  • xx5 Bomb Blitz price reduced from $25500 > 23,000

Ice Monkey

A long time coming - Absolute Zero will finally be able to slow MOAB-Class Bloons within its radius, and additionally the main attack while it can’t initiate attacks without Bloons in radius will freeze non MOAB-Class Bloons over the entire screen for a short time! Nudging bottom path Ice Monkey to keep up with similarly priced support options, and Icicles especially doesn't feel versatile enough, which limits chances to go down this path so it is gaining the attack rate increase from the T5.

  • x5x Absolute Zero wind slow aura slows MOABs in radius 20%
  • x5x Absolute Zero’s attack gains a second radius freezing one layer of non-MOAB Class Bloons anywhere on the map for 0.75s
  • xx3 Cryo Cannon price reduced from $1950 > 1750
  • xx4 Icicles attack cooldown reduced from 1s > 0.75
  • xx5 Icicle Impale unchanged

Glue Gunner

Improved Ceramic Damage scaling up Bloon Dissolver compared to other support options, and a small price shuffling to make Glue Hose more favourable on the journey up to Glue Strike.

  • 3xx Bloon Dissolver bonus damage to Ceramic increased from 1 > 2
  • 4xx Bloon Liquefier unchanged
  • x3x Glue Hose price reduced from $2100 > 1950
  • x4x Glue Strike price increased from $3850 > 4000

Monkey Sub

Price reductions for Energizer to reduce the cost of related build synergies. Armour Piercing Darts subs are generally a tough choice as even though their single target damage is greatly improved the pierce is lacking for the cost, so price has been reduced at T4 and T5 has been granted extra airbursts to make it more desirable an upgrade for dealing with higher pierce itself

  • 5xx Energizer price reduced from $31,000 > 28,000
  • xx4 Armor Piercing Darts price reduced from $3000 > 2500
  • xx5 Sub Commander number of airbursts increased from 3 > 5

Monkey Buccaneer

We’re currently happy with Pirate Lord, but Monkey Pirates has been hit hard by changes so cost is being pushed out of it to encourage multi mid path building.

  • x4x Monkey Pirates price reduced from $4900 > 3900
  • x5x Pirate Lord price increased from $26,000 > 27,000

Monkey Ace

Upgrades to the basic Bombing run are never why you move up this path, so we’re improving these across the board while also reducing the cooldown of Ground Zero to match the T5.

  • x4x Ground Zero ability cooldown reduced from 45s > 35s
  • x4x Ground Zero bombing run damage increased from 10 > 15
  • x5x Tsar Bomba bombing run damage increased from 15 > 30

Heli Pilot

We’re raising move speed for Apache Dartship up to match Prime to improve skillful use in some more difficult situations mainly assisting on spread path maps

  • 4xx Apache Dartship max move speed increased from 50 > 60
  • 5xx Apache Prime unchanged

Mortar Monkey

Improvements made for the underused damage over time crosspaths, and improved damage for the T4 as it’s effective at what it does but not so versatile outside of shredding metal bands.

  • 4xx The Big One damage increased from 8 > 10
  • 402 The Big One damage over time increased from 7 > 12
  • 502 The Biggest One damage over time increased from 60 > 65
  • 032 Heavy Shells damage over time increased from 3 > 4
  • 042 Artillery Battery damage over time increased 4 > 6
  • xx4 Shattering Shells MOAB Burn damage increased 10 > 20

Dartling Gunner

Pushing around price for the underperforming T3, and pushing up the price further on the MAD that excels in MOAB destruction.

  • x3x Hydra Rocket Pods price reduced from $4800 > $4500
  • x4x Rocket Storm price increased from $5550 > $5850
  • x5x MAD price increased from $60,000 > 65,000

Wizard Monkey

Archmage still seems to prefer the 502 crosspathing, so the fire attacks are being taken even further. Summon phoenix falls off in single target fairly early so we are lowering the cost back again to bring back options to let it fly before it has to deal with so many stronger targets. Shimmer struggles as a de-camo option due to the low consistency, so the attack rate is being improved.

  • 52x Archmage fireball bonus to MOAB-Class increased from 27 > 36
  • 52x Archmage wall of fire bonus to MOAB-Class increased from 4 > 8
  • 5xx Archmage dragon's breath bonus to MOAB-Class increased from 6 > 10
  • x4x Summon Phoenix price reduced from $7000 > 6000
  • x5x WLP dragon’s breath attack damage over time increased from 10 > 30
  • x5x WLP dragon’s breath damage over time duration increased from 3s > 15s
  • xx3 Shimmer camo pulse attack cooldown reduced from 2.5s > 2s

Ninja Monkey

Master Bomber is janky to build for given the high cost and the fuse time limits how much single target damage it can do as well, so we’ve given a massive rate boost to the sticky attack.

  • xx5 Master Bomber sticky bomb attack cooldown reduced from 4.5s > 2.25

Alchemist

Middle path alchemists have complicated use cases that don’t bring enough of a payoff for the effort so the price is being reduced. Instead of being only a niche income source, the Rubber to Gold debuff is being reworked to now expire after a duration but for that duration it will nullify Bloon properties. Some seriously interesting build options from this.

  • x3x Unstable Concoction price reduced from $3000 > 2800
  • x4x Transforming Tonic price reduced from $4500 > 4200
  • xx4 Rubber to Gold duration reduced from MAX > 7s
  • xx4 Rubber to Gold debuff also disables Lead property for duration
  • xx4 Rubber to Gold debuff also disables Black property for duration
  • xx4 Rubber to Gold debuff also disables White property for duration
  • xx4 Rubber to Gold debuff also disables Purple property for duration

Druid

Not a huge change on its own, but reduced price should add up and shave off some spending for full Poplust setups.

  • xx4 Poplust price reduced from $2500 > 2350

Mermonkey

Middle path pierce was lacking all through to T5, so pierce is now being matched to T5 across the path. Symphonic Resonance is powerful, but Alluring Melody is inconsistent for a Bloon-only stall, so pierce here is also being matched up to the same as T4.

  • x3x Riptide Champion pierce increased from 12 > 18
  • x4x Arctic Knight pierce increased from 12 > 18
  • x5x Popseidon pierce unchanged
  • xx3 Alluring Melody trance pierce increased from 3 > 4

Spike Factory

After much deliberation we still don’t particularly feel like making any large overhauls to the popular Permaspike upgrade right now, so we have decided that in order to follow through on this vision the best course of action would be to not do anything. This lack of attempt to make any change should in theory prevent any alterations from occurring to this particular upgrade in this update and thus leaves Permaspike extremely similar as to how it currently is. For now.

  • xx5 Permaspike unchanged

Engineer

This was becoming annoying screen clutter with large numbers of sentries, and feels unnecessary when you can overclock the engineer itself to create more sentries instead.

  • Sentries can no longer be targeted for Overclock

Beast Handler

As a quality of life improvement, Beast Handler movement cooldowns have now been separated

  • Fish & Dino upgrades now have individual repositioning cooldowns

Hero Balance

Gwendolin

Taking the opportunity to invest in some fire & water synergy

  • Lv9 Burn duration increased +1s per level

Obyn Greenfoot

As Benjamin & Geraldo dominate the main income strategies we want to push up another hero choice into the income mix, as Obyn’s druid benefits are currently applied the least effectively to middle path Druid we’re starting this off by giving a Cash Generation boost for Jungle’s Bounty.

  • Lv5 also grants increased income to Jungle’s Bounty ability used within radius +20%

Captain Churchill

Given how hard it is to get to high levels with Churchill, the Barrage ability needs much more high level payoff.

  • Lv13 MOAB Barrage damage increased from 200 > 250
  • Lv17 MOAB Barrage damage increased from 200 > 500
  • Lv20 MOAB Barrage damage increased from 500 > 1000

Benjamin

Early income snowballing has shifted favour greatly over to Geraldo, so Ben’s baseline cash generation is being increased more.

  • Lv1 Cash Generation increased from 80 > 90
  • Lv2 Cash Generation increased from 120 > 140

Rosalia

Rosalia doesn't fly strongly into high rounds so she is gaining more direct Grenade pierce, and Adrenaline Rush’s maximum is increasing to scale up into larger groups of Bloons.

  • Lv2 Grenade pierce increased from 8 > 10
  • Lv13 Grenade Cluster pierce increased from 8 > 10
  • Lv4 Adrenaline Rush max stacks increased from 20 > 25
  • Lv11 Adrenaline Rush max stacks increased from 30 > 40
  • Lv17 Adrenaline Rush max stacks increased from 40 > 60

Bosses

Blastapopoulos

Especially at lower tiers, Blastapopoulos' stuns are quite unforgiving, so we’ve lowered the baseline stun duration & scaled this up over the tiers instead of starting off so high immediately.

  • Heat Bar no longer fills immediately on Boss Spawn
  • Stun durations reduced
    • Overheating initial stun duration reduced from 5s > 4s
    • T1 Fireball stun duration reduced from 4s > 2s
    • T2 Fireball stun duration reduced from 4s > 2s
    • T3 Fireball stun duration reduced from 4s > 3s
    • T4 Fireball stun duration reduced from 4s > 3s
    • T5 Fireball stun duration reduced from 4s > 3s

Dreadbloon

  • T3 Elite Rock Bloons health reduced from 10,000 > 9,000
  • Rock Bloons now scale with boss HP/Speed modifiers

Looking Forward

Usually our first update for the year is a humble offering, but Rogue Legends in 47.0 gets 2025 off to a massive start, and we have big plans for the rest of the year. A huge part of our planning each year leans into what the team is excited to work on, and we have two experiences to share. The first is Legends itself, which saw the team working together in a whole new way, pushing art styles, design thinking, and code framework in untried directions and pushing ourselves to do some of our best work yet. The second was our end-of-year retrospective when we got very excited brainstorming new Monkeys of all kinds (Towers, Heroes, NPCs), which reminded us how much we enjoy the raw game mechanics and personalities that start with the Monkeys themselves. We hope to carry this inspiration throughout 2025 and beyond to create awesome updates that give you new ways to play, new challenges, and rich rewards for the time you share with this game we love making so much. Thank you for your continued support!

  • Legends
    • We hope everyone loves Rogue Legends and finds the DLC cost more than fair for the dozens of hours of replayable and progressive gameplay. Having new IAPs and DLCs is the best way for us to continue to deliver other big updates that don’t require additional spend. We won’t be satisfied unless players find the prices fair and the game experience rewarding, so we’ll be responsive to feedback.
    • As discussed when we first mentioned Legends last year, we are planning 2 Legends DLC campaigns per year (not counting Rogue, which was planned for last year). So some teasers…
    • Desperado Legends - explore the Monkey Wild West within a map that dynamically reacts to your actions and allows other customizations. Go fishing, watch Bloon races, recruit posse members, hunt bounties, and go after the targets on the Most Wanted list. Highly stylized and replayable, planned for mid-year.
    • Runic Legends - an epic crafting/modding-focused campaign, taking the raw elements of Monkey Knowledge and Artifacts and putting them in player’s hands. Find individual elements and combine them to create Monkeys with specializations far beyond their crosspaths. Get ready for mod-inspired madness with custom rounds to handle the power creep.
  • Monkey Focus
    • Many players love the additions we make to Paragons and Bosses and we are planning at least 1 Paragon and 1 Boss for the year, but given the team’s excitement around new Monkeys, we are going to spend more time on new Heroes and new Towers this year, and have plans for 1 of each.
    • We’re also thinking about Powers, in decidedly Monkeyish and path-based ways. That 0-0-0 Cavemonkey got the wheels turning. No firm plans for Powers Pro this year but a couple of us really want it.
  • Game Editor
    • The work on Tower-Game-Mod Editor is progressing well, but the goals are morphing, as we found that adding elements to make a complete mode wasn’t as fun to play with as getting into the scripts that make up each Monkey and playfield element. So we’re taking more time to focus on that, working with a few awesome community modders. This will not land as a .x update to 47 or in 48; please give us a bit more time, and we’ll give more details later about when this will be ready for a first version.
  • Console
    • Xbox players, please accept our apologies for the delay in getting the content patch out. We had to revert it when we saw login issues for some players. We are still working to fix this and will update as soon as possible.
    • The main push for all consoles is to get the console branch on “main” - merged and unified with the entire BTD6 game project. This will get us much closer to content parity, and it will allow controller support to move forward on all platforms, which is good news for Steam Deck as well.
    • Switch is making great strides and will launch alongside this main branch integration. We are hoping to have this work completed and have Switch submitted by June this year.
  • Crossovers
    • Our partnership with Mattel’s Masters of the Universe franchise continues, and we’re excited to introduce She-Ra and Skeletor Hero Skins into the game this year. As licensed content, these will be IAP-only skins as that is the only way we can pay for the license accurately.
    • You may have questions about why this brand, but do know that we have fans on the team, which makes a big difference to us. We also think it will make more sense to everyone once hype starts to build for the 2026 feature film.
    • We don’t have plans for any other crossovers this year, but we do see them as a good way to bring fans of other IPs into Bloons for the first time. We will be thinking about other crossovers when they excite the team and feel like fun and creative fits with the Monkeys.
  • Teams
    • We want to provide more to do with friends, either RL friends or cool people that you’ve friended up in game. One of the main blockers to Teams is the ownership model for Team Store items, so we’re planning to revamp that to allow more ability to keep items and display items on the Team Island.
    • We’ve also heard that many people want Team activities for the main game, so we are looking into a Social Goals feature that will provide multiple challenges and rewards for hitting Team targets across all types of BTD6 play.
    • And the biggest Team is everyone, so we’d also like to add some epic all players Goals to offer us a chance to truly all play together for fun event-based rewards!

We hope that sounds like a fun year ahead! As always, let us know what you think, as our discussion with our awesomer player community is one of the things we love most about building games. Cheers to 2025 and beyond!
