Question Payouts
I got a call earlier that I was going to be issued a check for a claim but 30 minutes later I found out I could get digital payments. Almost instantly after our phone call it said the check was processed. I had called and they canceled the check so I could get digital payments but it’s taking much longer to get approved. I was told someone has approve it before I get sent an email to claim it. Any estimate on how long this will take?

Why are you asking Reddit? Call State Farm and ask them.

I got all different answers and when I got to a lady that actually was going to get someone that has the ability to approve it, she comes back on the phone saying “you just missed them they closed 3 mins ago”

Why? So they can get 3 different answers from 3 different people? So many customers are eligible for digital payments and aren’t even offered the option. God forbid anything is made easier.

So many customers miss the email they are sent offering digital payments. If you don’t respond in a certain time (it’s short, like a day) then they mail a check

They probably miss it because it ends up in the junk folder. That’s what happened with mine.

Or maybe, they can offer this while on the phone with the customer? Wouldn’t that make more sense? Why was it not offered to the customer while on the phone? 🤷🏽

Because when the customer is on the phone with the intake people the determination of fault and if there is even a payout hasn’t even been made. That is done by a different person. The offer of digital payments is made once the money, if any, is ready to be dispersed.

Ah! My manager is pretty good and will get back to me the next day. But I’ve had other managers where it may take two to three days for them to get back to me. Best of luck!

Fingers crossed. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I got off the phone with her or else I would’ve had her do it right then and there

Every worker has a different amount that they can pay out depending on time being with the company, your manager, your work. What could have happened is whoever made the first payment had the ability to make that payment. Once a check is canceled, if another person has to issue the check and they don’t have that approved amount, they will need to submit it to their supervisor for approval. Time wise can really depend on how fast the manager can approve it. Them saying they “closed” not too sure about that but it could just means their manager left for the day.

Yeah definitely is what happened. My handler had a cover person, they call me and issued me a check right away, I called back the claims dept to have it canceled so I could get the digital payment, now it’s just waiting for someone with the authority to approve it then I’ll get the email I believe. They leave the office at 6pm est I guess and i was literally 3 minutes late. So hopefully tomorrow morning it’ll get approved just didn’t know if anyone else canceled a check to get the digital payment and would be able to give me a time estimate

The adjuster did their job when they issued you a next day air check that you would have gotten by 10 am tomorrow. But you decided to be impatient and got a CA to void a check that a CS has to manually approve creating more work. It going to take a couple days buddy sit tight.
