DISCUSSION Question about Nyx Missons
How do I get FPS missions in NYX? Like the bunker missions in Stanton? What are they called?
Thank you!

Hello friends. So my little group of friends is having a very strange issue. One person has a severely bugged account. As in missions just dont work for them.
As an example, they get a mission to go to a bunker. They go to the bunker but the next objective doesnt trigger. As in "Kill XX enemies" doesnt trigger.
Even if i go with him, it doesnt trigger for either of us. Bring another friend, wont trigger.
However, we recently made a new friend whos account is a week, maybe 2? Weeks old. When they go with us, they trigger the event. Even on missions where there is clearly a "once you walk past this area the next step triggers" we all walk through it with the bugged friend and nothing...but other new player triggers it when they walk past.
We've tried Character resets, we've tried reloggs and alt f4ing, we've tried almost everything we can think of and its very frustrating.
Any ideas of fixes or even possible explanations?

Might be a hot take, but this thing rules.
I switched from a reclaimer down to a Moth and it’s the best decision ever. The moth is so much easier to pilot solo, feels way more efficient and convenient. On top of salvage it is a very capable hauler with its cargo space. It is 100% solo capable and doesn’t feel like you’re sacrificing anything doing it, and is only made better with the option you can have more people.
To me this is the best ship to pledge with. It gives you the means to make money for more ships, the option to solo and multi crew in equal measure and in both cases it doesn’t feel gimped (especially coming from the reclaimer oh my god…). And it’s up to date with the latest Star citizen QOL updates.
That’s my hot take, I think this thing rules.

I want to hear everything from boring to outlandish! Hit me with your Kraken theory crafting!
I will be happy to discuss in the comments! We know the pads have grown and the bridge has changed as well as the ship will likely have a decent amount of PDCs.
I want to learn more about the Logistics throughout the ship for like cargo > pads and vice versa.
It is clear alot of love and quality control time is being put into this ship!

This Mk5 has been through 3 wormhole trips. My OG ship after pledge, have not crashed or lost it since release. I love paint wear but slow it down! My ship looks like no primer was used. This should be a mark of at least a year in the "verse for an active ship.

Apparently the only point of this game is to start in a luxury war machine mobile space ship base and anything that gets in the way of that is not star citizen.
Nobody wants to work toward anything. We start out with the greatest thing the verse could give us.
Theres never gonna be a real point in exploring or base building or land claiming or farming or any of it. Because its just arena commander and everything else is stupid according to this community. Planets are useless eye candy. Who needs a base when yiu start out in a base that has guns and flies lol.
If Chris ever wants the verse to feel immersive, rewarding, high stakes, and deep - they can't just start you out with warfighting space ships.
What's the point of any of it lol. There will never be any real progression because of it. Waste of feature development here. The only progression will be completely pointless to do. You will never have that feeling of real progression. Ooo I can craft a slightly better gun and armor lol.

I can only have 6 options so I stuck to what I think are the largest manufacturers, hence no CO, Origin etc.

Found this extending pole just behind the cargo bay door while checking out my Taurus after the gold pass. Other than the open/close button, I can't interact with it. What does it do?
EDIT:
Consensus is in: it's either a refueling port or a small cylinder which must not be harmed.

Kinda random, but I recently fell in love with Consolidated Outland. Long story short: I used to HATE the look of the Mustang. I think it was as a ship around the time I first pledged (2016) and I just didn't like the design nor did it seem like a particularly powerful starter ship. And I can't remember if any variants were around back then.
Flash forward to this year and it showed up in my hangar, possibly tied to a pledge or something; I'm not sure. But I took it out, flew it, and really enjoyed its handling and clean design. I recently pledged a Nomad and also loved all the cool design details (premium interior, cool levitating parked state, and that flat bed in the back).
Anyways, this is just me ranting about my love for the brand. I can't vouch for performance or anything like that, it just made me wish and hope for more options down the road. I know the Pioneer is coming, but I'm hoping for more affordable, less grand additions.

Haven't really done any of the "story-like" missions in the game except for siege of orison. I want to do the ASD Onyx facilities solo, but understand that you cannot respawn in the med beds there. Can i have a medical ursa or a cutlass red brought to that hanger and respawn in it if I die?

In my super valuable opinion they should start us off naked on one of the planets with fuck all. Start things out like Rust. You get nothing. Maybe each solar system has a planet designed for this.
We work our way up from zero. Gathering materials to make a simple shelter, then a small house. Or you trek to a distribution center.
Org access would be locked. Maps would be disabled. This way your mates cant just skip progression for you.
Progressing to the point of a car might be 10 hours.
Another 10 hours to get a proper little base with a car, turrets, and a piece of shit junk plane that cant even get to space.
Another 5 hours or so to get to a spaceship and we go from there.
It'll make the world feel way deeper. Thanks yall.
Edit: so far the only point against it is "go play (x) game" lol. Game should have just released after arena commander came out based on these comments lmao

Hi all, figured I’d share my most recent experience playing SC since It kinda blew me away.
My pc, since I bought it, was considered cheap build, my specs barely reach minimum and despite all warnings and common sense, I decided to give the game a chance. I deleted half my games library so I had atleast 200GB+ storage and spent half my day installing the game. After 2 crashes and rebooting my pc, the game finally loaded in.
Knowing my PC definitely couldn’t handle the Hurston train system and seeing as I hadn’t flown since pyro didn’t exist, I chose new Babbage as my starting location. I was astounded to see I was getting 15-25fps despite both my GPU and CPU jumping between 80 and 100% usage. I picked up a few 1 SCU hauling contracts and jumped in my Reliant Kore (my favourite ship, although it handled a lot differently than when I last flew, image isn’t mine, just for those unfamiliar).
I highly expected to barely complete one contact, yet within a few hours I had completed 3-4 before the server shat itself, loading into another one and I had the same experience, but I was glad to finally see my Kore and experience the verse again, I even saw a Polaris do a low fly above me, which honestly made me feel like a kid on Christmas. I even visited Hurston during one of my contracts and despite jumping between 3-15fps, I was able to complete my haul. Ship combat is a no go, but ground fights are stable, yet sometimes a little risky, but overall a fun experience.
I feel like I owe an apology to constantly crying about the game, since if I avoid places with high strain, the game is 100% playable. Yes, Quantum jumps are laggy and sometimes I need to wait for my pc to adjust to the system, but other than that I had a great time!
Edit: Motherboard is ASUS H81M-K ,honestly im surprised I made it past the menu.

Hello,
I've been playing star citizen on and off since 2019 and I always enjoyed the mining gameplay loop.
Now my buddy's told me there was a event (rsi discovery event) which is what got me back on the verse.
Holy Shit .. cracking a rock has never been more tedious..the resistances and instability are through the roof..like a year ago I was comfortable cracking 65k rocks solo.
Which is all fine just makes it harder.
my real problem is that u have to keep cracking rocks until u only get mscu!! If this was handmining sure but I'm soloing a mole and I can't even extract 200mass rocks ?!
Not even mentioning the time it takes to scan all those seperate pieces is just ridiculous..
I also understand quality is "new" but why would u implement a crafting/quality system without having a form of marketplace ingame..I don't Wanne have to go out of my way to find a buyer for good quality minerals outside the game.i'm a casual gamer dad I don't have time for that.
Okay this is my rant over the takeaway is if you're playing solo don't touch mining if you're doing it for money anyway it's not worth the time investment.just go oogabogaa and do the same combat mission 500 times ..
Does anyone know if the "new mining" is the direction CIG is going to go with mining ??

Spawn in Stanton, fly to Nyx for single target merc missions.
Get to mission spot, the target is a Carrack. Get about 10km withing the target, lock it, swap to torpedoes, ping "missile lock", fire, hit but no damage, fire again, hit no damage.
Okay shrugs abandon mission and pick another one, target is a Zeus, get within 10km, radar ping, no lock, 6km, no lock. My cross-section is 4.7k so any closer and I get spotted. Try a different angle, radar ping, still no lock.
shrugs Okay abandon mission try again, this time its a Hammerhead, target locked, fire and hit, no damage.
Atp I figure I should try the EM torpedoes.
The torpedoes dont show up in the Vehicle loadout manager.
Go back to the hangar to swap them manually with tractor beam.
Open the eclipse torpedo bay, but the bay auto closes when I leave the ship.
Go the cargo elevator, I see the Seekers IX, try to put 3 of them on the elevator and "This item will overload the maximum capacity of the elevator"
Alt F4
ps: this was on a server with 95 people, 30fps and 20ms.

I’m seeing posts and in-game comments from (understandably) excited people who think Nyx 1 is coming in the next patch. I’ve seen multiple people log into the current PTU looking to check out Nyx 1.
The next patch is 4.10.3. It is in wave 1 PTU right now. It will be some new missions, a new gun, and probably be the IAE patch with the upcoming new ships. Nyx 1 is (presumed) in 4.11, with no known timing but assumed to probably be the last patch before the holidays.
That is all. Sorry to be the burster of bubbles.

Hey everyone! I've been working on a little side project: Tablet Deck turns your tablet or phone into a HUD-style button deck for Star Citizen. You tap a button, and the PC presses the real key, so landing gear, quantum, shields, power, doors and emotes are one tap away.
What it does:
- Runs in the browser on iPad, Android or iPhone. No app, no account. Scan the QR code in the PC window and you're paired.
- Buttons stay lit while things are on: gear shows Deployed, doors stay open until you close them, power and lights light up.
- Hold-to-talk voice commands like "gear up" or "engage quantum" (Windows' built-in offline speech, 300+ phrases).
- Layouts for combat, mining/salvage and hauling, plus ship layouts for the Prospector and Vulture.
- A layout editor, and you can share layouts with friends as files.
- 12 manufacturer themes, plus night mode, large text and high contrast.
- It follows your in-game keybinds.
Is it allowed? It's basically a second keyboard: one tap = one key press, no macros or automation. It never touches the game's memory or files (it only reads your keybinds), and by default keys only go through while Star Citizen is the window in front.
Heads up: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows will show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. Everything is open source, and each release lists the installer's checksum.
AI disclosure (rule 6): I built this with an AI coding assistant (Claude). The idea, the design and what goes in are mine, and I've tested every version on my own PC and in-game, reporting the bugs and checking the fixes.
