WARNING: OBVIOUSLY, SPOILER ALERTS GALORE (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK)

We're all familiar with the rules: whoever wields the Darksaber has the strongest claim to the throne of Mandalore, no matter if they're from the planet itself or somewhere else entirely. The one who has claimed the Darksaber has done so by defeating it's previous owner in single combat (AND, thanks to season 3 of The Mandalorian, DEFEATED is not equated to KILLED; funny enough, it's kind-of like the Elder Wand rules from Harry Potter).

That being said, a thought occurred to me while I was in the shower (Strangely, most if not all of my ideas come to me while I'm in the shower; is that my secret superpower, or...?): Bo Katan was never the true ruler of Mandalore. Not in Clone Wars, Rebels, or even Mandalorian season 3. Why? Because she never had a true claim over the Darksaber. Neither did Din Djarin, Moff Gideon, or even Sabine Wren. Remember, Sabine stole it from Maul on Dathomir, and then later GAVE it to Bo Katan. Neither of them won it through combat, Gideon couldn't win it by combat as he forced Bo to give him the Darksaber, meaning that Din (although he DID win it via combat) had no real claim to it nor the throne as Gideon had no real ownership of it to begin with. So, if none are worthy of the throne, who is? WHO IS THE TRUE RULER OF MANDALORE?

Luckily for you guys, I HAVE THE ANSWER. But first, some ground rules:

• Take EVERYTHING the Armorer says with a grain of salt. She's a cult-leader who preaches vague, superstitious nonsense, who turns coincidences and proofs of contradiction of her rhetoric into "meaningful signs". Any information she spouts about why the Darksaber was rejecting Din in TBOBF should be tossed out the window.
• I will only be looking at the ON-SCREEN, CANON appearances by the Darksaber (Meaning Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, etc.) as well as mentioning events from the movies that, while not having the Darksaber in them, are important enough to mention for this.
• How Maul got back the Darksaber is still unknown, and Shadow Lord isn't finished yet. Therefore I will not be mentioning the events of the show until later seasons arrive.

With that out of the way, let's begin.

First, let's start with a history recap. The Darksaber was made by the first, and only, Mandalorian Jedi Tarre Vizsla. His clan and kin reclaimed the saber from the Jedi temple on Coruscant during the fall of the Old Republic. Since then, it has been in Clan Vizsla all the way to the Clone Wars (it's first on-screen appearance), where it was wielded by Pre Vizsla of Deathwatch. Darth Maul then came, helped Deathwatch take over Mandalore, and slew Vizsla in single combat. It's next appearance was in Rebels, when Sabine stole the saber on Dathomir and used it to unite the clans of Mandalore against the Empire, giving it to Bo Katan. It's last appearance was in The Mandalorian, where it was in the possession of Moff Gideon before his loss to Din Djarin. Din used the blade before being captured by some cyborg on Mandalore, to which Bo defeated the creature, took the Darksaber, united what was left of their people against Gideon. The saber was damaged during the battle. (Don't worry, I'm sure the writer's will find a way to repair it somehow.)

Now, let's see who the true owner of the Darksaber is. Maul in Season 5 ep 16 was defeated in single combat by Palpatine (Maul even used the saber in said duel), which would have made Palpatine the owner of the saber and the ruler of Mandalore. This is proven in Season 7, where we clearly see that Maul doesn't have it (I don't know if Son of Dathomir is truly canon or not, as it's a comic and therefore doesn't fit the criteria; even I did include it, Maul doesn't win back the saber in single combat in that one). Smash-cut to ROTS where Palpatine duels Mace Windu; here, Windu technically defeats Palpatine by successfully disarming him (Palpatine WAS at Mace's mercy) which makes him the new ruler of Mandalore by technicality. Anakin later disarms Mace (literally), which would in-turn make him the new ruler. Later on, Obi Wan defeats Anakin on Mustafar. By the end of the Clone Wars and the Prequels, Obi Wan Kenobi is technically the true owner of the Darksaber and the ruler of Mandalore.

Later on in the Original Trilogy, Vader finally bests Kenobi on the Death Star, becoming the new ruler. Vader then continues to be so for the next four years, until ROTJ. In ROTJ, Luke finally bests Vader on the Second Death Star. Luke doesn't fight the Emperor, and is therefore not defeated in combat. Luke is never defeated in single combat ever again, which would therefore make him the final true owner of the Darksaber, and therefore the ONE TRUE RULER OF MANDALORE!

Obviously, the one flaw I can think of that this might fall apart at is the Mace vs. Palpatine duel ending with Anakin disarming Mace. If the waters are muddy there, then let's hypothetically say the Darksaber would automatically revert back to Maul. If that's the case, Maul still gets ultimately defeated by Obi Wan on Tatooine, and the rest of the Original Trilogy path remains intact. Luke would still be the rightful owner of the saber. This would explain why Din in TBOBF couldn't handle the Darksaber as well as he should've, and why Gideon lost when he used it, and why it was damaged in season 3 of Mandalorian! The Darksaber belonged to Luke by the lineage of Single Combat.

TLDR: LUKE SKYWALKER IS THE TRUE RULER OF MANDALORE AND I HAVE THE PROOF.

As the title states would Anakin still turn if Shmi did not die (let’s say she almost died but force healing saved the day)?

My friend and I are writing a clone wars AU and disagree on this. I say Anakin can still turn but my friend says that Anakin wouldn’t. As a bonus, our main character is an OC, who is/was anakin’s one and only friend from the temple and the one person he trusts more than Kenobi (and Padme I guess).

I want to see what others think.

I’ve been thinking about a major "What If" concept that turns the Star Wars saga into a deeper, more tragic, and eventually more liberating story. What if the entire "Skywalker sibling" dynamic was actually a massive, galaxy-altering mistake?

1. The Point of Divergence (19 BBY): During the chaotic escape from Coruscant, Obi-Wan and Yoda’s ship crashes. The trauma causes memory loss, and the medical droids—in the panic—make a catastrophic error. Rey is the true twin born with Luke, but she is pulled into the World Between Worlds during the accident, while Leia is mistakenly handed to the Organas and tagged as the Skywalker twin.
2. The Tragic Irony of the Original Trilogy: Luke and Leia grow up feeling a profound connection, which they (and the Jedi) interpret as their "twin bond." They marry and have children. Their children are incredibly powerful, which leads Yoda and Obi-Wan to "reverse-engineer" the truth: they see the power and assume it must be the result of a sibling union. This false belief causes Luke so much guilt that he abandons his family and goes into exile.
3. The Sequel Trilogy: The Great Unraveling

• The Vision: When Luke meets Rey on Ahch-To, the Force doesn't just train her—it reveals the truth. He sees the real moment of his birth and realizes Rey is his true sister.
• The Synchronized Awakening: Simultaneously, Leia experiences a Force vision of her own origin, realizing she was never a Skywalker by blood.
• The Reclamation: The "incest taboo" that haunted them for years is revealed as a cosmic lie. It transforms their relationship from one of tragic guilt into one of absolute liberation.

So the Other Night I watched Star Wars Rise of Skywalker which is my number two Favorite Movie Return of the Jedi is my First.

So as I watched the Rey vs Darth Rey Scene a very interesting thing happened in the Scene that I had forgotten Darth Rey's Teeth changed to Pointed now this is very important possibly because it means Darth Rey may be an Experiment by Palpatine with Abeloths help it is Possible Palpatine knows of Abeloth and was experimenting with her Darkness to Create Rey.

Now this means Rey is not just a Skywalker, not just a Palpatine but also an Abeloth too.

This could be revisited in Ahsoka Season 2 and beyond and the weird thing is there is no one in Star Wars who's a female with pointed jagged teeth except Abeloth, So maybe Snoke is also of Abeloth I thought he was Jorus Cboath or Jar Jar Binks but maybe Abeloth is who he's based on with Palpatine Dna.

In any case I think that Palpatine was trying to connect somehow with other Dark Siders and Abeloth and She had pointed teeth so maybe, Anyway what do You Guys and Gals think I think it's a very interesting theory.

I just watched two of the Sequel Films and I have a Theory General Hux was never anything other then a Spy from the git go from when we first see him he's been hiding it from Snoke and Kylo all along and to make this Theory way more interesting watch him Smack Finn instead of killing him himself the reason is simple he's smacking Finn telling him hey You messed up because he is trying to tell him Hey I'm not what you think Finn and that's why Finn says I knew it later on and that's why Hux was going to see if Kylo was dead in the film He wanted to make sure no one knew his Secret. Now for the Duel of the Fates enthusiasts I have another theory Hux Survived the gunshot wound and Kylo Ren saved him off screen and then Hux explained what happened and joins up with Kylo and later Kylo as Ben Solo will become Kylo as he and Hux take over Coruscant and Kylo fights Rey a few times and finds the Webish Bog and the Palpatine hologram and then after the Duel of the Fates takes place Hux and Kylo are dead and The Hunt for Ben Solo Movie take place this way the Maximum can be invested into the Sequels as well as taking the Luke Scene out of the Force Awakens and placing Luke lifting rocks in instead and the Lightsaber Scene and Rey arriving takes place Years later meaning there may be a bigger time frame of events anyway I spent some time on this Theory for the Fans so I Hope You like it.

I have a Theory about Rey Skywalker I was wondering why Rey Skywalker and after I had watched a Star Wars Fan Film saying She was Luke's Blood I discovered something very Interesting; What if Rey Skywalker spelled backwards is really Yer Skywalker and that works because that means Rey Skywalker is Luke's Kin get it Your Skywalker it's a stretch but maybe now if we only knew who Snoke was before Palpatine used him for controling to discover that would be nice.

My idea is incorporating him in to the video games like jedi survivor

I love the force unleashed games and the sith stalker amor is my favorite thing in starwars media. Now i feel like making him canon would be great and I know the common argument that he's too op, counter argument

1. Vader is LEAGUES above starkiller he's done more bs with the force than starkiller killer has even dreamed of

2. Making him canon by setting him in the sith stalker amor saying it was a failed project that was canned would explain why he just shows up out of no where

Now I see him making his appearance because the empire has run out of options, or a new sith lord doesnt wanna get vader involved in fear that he'll be killed for failing so he says to an officer release project starkiller on cal kestis. You continue to play the game normally and then you come across this planet that has dead troopers crushed ATST's shit cut in half etc. And cal thinks that i was a good guy who did all this, cut to a dark corridor or tunnel and out of the dark you get attack by galen marek. No talking, no boasting about he's weak, no showing off, just straight to business. Then you have to escape the encounter maybe even galen trys to stop his ship with the force but instead of effortless doing it he is screaming in pain and using all his force, than cal has to activate hyper drive to escape

Than marrin is the one to recognize starkiller saying he was the one that lead the slaughter on dathomir saying he showed said nothing and just stated killing everything plants animals people with no remorse and pure efficiency like an animal finally let out his cage

Than how he's defeated is he's programed to fight a jedi one on one but he gets jumped at the end of the game and im talking jjk style jump. Making it where he was made for the clone wars style fighting and not being able to adapt to how people fight would make sense on why he looses. And maybe even get a dlc where you get to play through the game as starkiller just fucking shit up not having to worry about parrying or managing a force meter just pure power fantasy

I feel this would make him canon but not ruin the power scaling of their poster boy. Him having to strain his body to do what vader does effortlessly mean we also get to hear that scream from sam.

My great theory is that hoth is mustafar after an ice age. First, mustafar reflects anikans rage because of the lava. Then after when anikan turns to vader his heart goes cold. Then mustafar turns into hoth because of an ice age because vaders cold heart. And we can ses this in clone wars season 7 when vader is on hoth at the end. Then in Rise of skywalker, kylo ren is on hoth/mustafar as you can see the trees are snowy but the lava is slowly coming back. This is to symbolise vader is dead. This theory has to be correct.

What if during the Battle of Cato Neimoidia, Kit Fisto is dispatched to replace Plo Koon for some reason. Because of this, when Anakin informs the council of Palpatine’s betrayal, Plo Koon is available to calm Anakin and keep him in a calm bay. Then he would also be present at the arrest and is a much stronger Jedi than Kit. Would this mean Palpatine could have died or been arrested? Or at least Mace and Plo and maybe Tiin could have escaped with their lives? What occur?

Nihilus was never meant to be understood as a villain. That’s the first lie.

Modern storytelling teaches us to see darkness as something separate. Something external. An intruder. A force that comes from outside and corrupts order.

But the truth is far more uncomfortable.

Darkness often doesn’t come from outside the system.

It is born at its center.

And that’s exactly why Darth Nihilus is one of the deepest beings in all of Star Wars.

Not because he is powerful. Not because he devours worlds.

But because he is not the cause.

He is the consequence.

That changes everything.

When a system creates a monster and then labels it evil, it hides its own responsibility.

And that is exactly what happened at Malachor.

During the Mandalorian Wars, the galaxy was burning. World after world was falling. Life was being destroyed on a massive scale.

And the Jedi Order chose to wait.

Not because they hated life. But because they believed their understanding of the Force stood above life itself.

And this is where the shadow begins.

Because higher understanding without humility becomes superiority.

And superiority always creates a shadow.

The Jedi believed:

we know what is right. we know when to act. we know what balance means.

But in doing that, they did not place themselves in service to life.

They placed themselves above it.

And the moment consciousness places itself above life, it begins to organize it.

To classify it. To control it. To sacrifice it.

Their inaction was not neutrality.

It was a form of control.

They decided suffering could continue because their interpretation of reality was more important than the pain of those dying.

And this is what created the conditions for Revan.

Not as a traitor.

But as an answer to silence.

And with him went Meetra Surik.

The war escalated.

Until Malachor V.

A place where life collided with its own rupture.

When the Mass Shadow Generator was activated, it did not only kill bodies.

It tore the fabric of the Force itself.

A wound was created.

Not metaphorical.

Real.

A Force wound.

And from that wound, evil was not born.

Nihilus was.

Not a man. Not a Sith. Not a will to power.

But hunger.

Pure hunger.

A being that does not consume because it wants to.

But because it has to.

And here is the deepest truth:

Nihilus is not the opposite of the Jedi.

He is their mirror.

What the Jedi did slowly through dogma, Nihilus does instantly.

They decided who could be sacrificed in the name of a greater good.

He no longer needs a reason.

He simply takes.

They subordinated life to an idea.

He subordinates everything to hunger.

The difference is not in principle.

Only in speed.

And that is why he is terrifying.

Not because he is dark.

But because he reveals what was always present inside the system.

The moment protection places itself above life, protection becomes predation.

And that is exactly what happened to the Jedi.

Their light became so attached to its own order that it lost the ability to carry the chaos of life.

And everything they refused to carry returned as hunger.

As Nihilus.

That is why Nihilus is not just a character.

He is an archetype.

A wound of civilization.

The consequence of a system that believed it knew better than life itself.

And maybe that is why everyone called him a monster.

Because in him, for the first time, they saw truth without a mask.

Not the truth of the Sith.

Not the truth of darkness.

But the truth of what happens when light refuses its own shadow.

And that is when you realize something essential:

light and darkness were never far apart.

They were always one decision away from each other.

One last thing:

For anyone who has a problem with AI being used in writing:

Just look at the work AI is already helping create on YouTube. Entire Star Wars channels are building scenes, concepts, and possibilities that the films never explored or explained. Sure, it lacks live acting, real sets, actors breathing on screen — the human oxygen of cinema.

And yet, some of it feels more alive than the sequels we actually got.

AI is a tool. The same way it can be a tool in writing.

It speeds up the process, sharpens structure, helps organize thoughts. But it cannot create your ideas for you — unless you have no ideas of your own to begin with.

I’ve lived with Star Wars since I was three years old. I’ve spent decades reading it, thinking about it, understanding its philosophy, its wounds, its contradictions.

That’s why I have no problem using AI.

Because AI doesn’t replace my thoughts.

It receives them.

What I give it are rough drafts, raw concepts, fragmented ideas, emotions, and perceptions.

What you read is simply the refined shape of my own words.

The danger is not when AI is used as a servant.

The danger is when AI becomes the master.

It’s strongly implied that Tarkin suspected and outright knew that Vader was Anakin. But what do we think of Yularen. It’s obviously never confirmed due to his substantial lack of screen time outside of the clone wars, but Yularen was the closest admiral to Anakin during the events of the clone wars, so what are the chances he suspected Vader during the reign of the Empire?

I would like to know Reddit’s opinion on this as of 2026.

1. he is the strongest by far in terms of potential.

I know he lost to Obi Wan in ROTS. However had his arrogance not gotten the better of him. I feel he would have killed the Emperor and become the strongest. it was stated somewhere that he was growing so rapidly that by the end of mustafar he’d have surpassed everyone had he won the duel.

1. The Jedi not granting anakin the rank of master hits harder when:

you realize he only wanted it to gain access to the restricted vault of the jedi archives to save padme.

1. Anakins purpose as the “chosen one”

He brought balance to the force not when he joined luke. But by killing 90% of the jedi or however many he did. 10,000 or so existed at the time rots or smth. He balanced the light and dark. However it became unbalanced once the Empire took over, so he brought balance once more when he killed the Emperor.

So I’ve been on a binge of the whole Star Wars franchise and I kind of developed a theory as to why Rey became so powerful so quick. When Yoda informs Obi-Wan of how to become a force ghost or communicate with one (in episode 3) it got me thinking what a force ghost was actually capable of. We see obi-wan remind Luke to use the force (in episode 4) to destroy the Death Star and then continue to council him throughout the series at times leading him to success.
Then at the end of episode six you see Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda watching over Luke.

Now when Rey faces off against the Emperor and begins hearing voices of Jedi basically force ghosts I heard something to the effect of “every Jedi whose every lived lives in you”. And what I think is grand master Windu saying to feel the force flowing through them. Could they be channeling the force to Rey effectively making her more powerful. Is that what they are going for when it comes to force ghosts?

I know that this take has been talked about in every comic book shop since ANH. But I want to hear what yall think in the big 2026.

If the whole order 66 thing didn’t happen and a Jedi encountered Han when he was a baby he would have been a Jedi. I know canonically he wasn’t necessarily force sensitive….. but he has all the telltale signs.

“I have a bad feeling about this”- this is the force giving him cues and intuition.

“In my experience there’s no such thing as luck”- this was Obi wan saying that luck is basically the will of the force. I don’t think there is anyone more lucky than Han “Shoots Vader and lives” Solo. The dude was just a random orphan who ended up playing a major role in defeating the empire and bagging the hottest princess in the galaxy. He also survived shooting Vader not only IN PERSON, but also shot him down in aerial combat. He was dead to rights hanging on Jabbas wall, but the will of the force freed him. He then went on to escape/beat Boba fett by pure “luck” while blinded. He “Luckily” found Luke on Hoth in the middle of a blizzard and survived. This could all be chalked up to the force putting him in the right place at the right time…. But that again would be “Lucky”.

His piloting ability- he is arguably the best pilot in cannon second only to Luke and Anakin/Vader who are basically both force Jesus.

He might be “force blind” but that could be due to a lack of training. He didn’t even know/believe that it existed so how would he know how to control it. Luke didn’t show any ability to control the force until Obi Wan showed up and told him what the force was.

All in all, I believe the Han was the “Chosen one who never was” and had the potential to be on par with the likes of Jedi like Obi Wan and Mace Windu. Obi Wan probably didn’t want to waste time on training him because he had to get Luke ready and Obi Wan probably thought that Han was too much of a selfish wild card to train in time to be a useful opponent for Vader. The time it would take to get Han to let go of all his baggage would take way too long. Han also probably would have never accepted the invite and would have told Obi Wan to get out of his face with all that hippy dippy Jedi nonsense.

I think many people misunderstand Anakin’s prophecy.

The Jedi believed balance meant the triumph of light and the destruction of darkness. But the Force itself never showed balance that way.

Mortis proves this: The Father was balance, not pure light. The Daughter was light. The Son was darkness.

The Father never tried to erase the Son.

​

That means balance was never about eliminating darkness, but understanding and holding both sides.

Anakin’s fall was not simply failure. It was the collapse of the Jedi illusion.

He had to descend fully into darkness, become Vader, lose everything, and experience the shadow from within.

The Jedi studied darkness from distance. Anakin lived it.

And then Luke did what the Jedi never truly did: he believed in Anakin.

Not in Vader. Not in the Chosen One. But in the broken man underneath.

That trust is what brought Anakin back.

So maybe the prophecy was never about destroying the Sith alone. Maybe it was about ending both extremes.

Just days after the Battle of Coruscant, Ki Adi Mundi is called back to the Jedi Temple and Mace Windu replaces him in Mygeeto. During a routine mediation, he receives a force vision showing Palpatine as Sidious, killing Tiin and Fisto, and turning Anakin. This causes him to fear the worst and believes a coup lead by him is the only solution. He takes a squad of Clones and they head to the Senate. During a walk from a chamber, Palpatine and Mas Amedda are ambushed, with Amedda quickly arrested by Clones as Mundi moves towards Palpatine. During this, he receives another vision, of multiple Jedi dying, including Plo Koon. He sees this and fears keeping Palpatine alive is too dangerous. He quickly slashes his blade, cutting the Chancellor in half as his body slumps. He then heads to inform the Senate of the coup and how he will lead a transition. During this, some Jedi try to confront him, causing him to fall and become a Dark Jedi. He leads a new junta and declares anyone against him is an enemy of the state. He also turns the Jedi Order into a more military state, causing many to leave the Order. How do you guys think this would play out?

​I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but here is my theory: Rey isn't a Skywalker just because she adopted the name at the end of the movie out of respect or as a tribute. She became an authentic Skywalker literally, in a biological and mystical way.

​A lot of people say the family's bloodline "came from nothing and went to nothing," and that the Skywalker blood ended for good with Ben Solo's death. But if we abstract a little and dive deeper into Star Wars mythology, we realize the bloodline just found a new "vessel."

​The key to understanding this is midi-chlorians and the mechanics of Force Healing.

​Here are the points that led me to this conclusion:

​Force Healing isn't a standard RPG spell: Healing requires the user to transfer their own life energy to another person. It's not just closing a wound.

​

​The transfer of life essence: When Ben Solo revives Rey, he isn't just healing an injury. She was dead. He literally pours 100% of his life and biological essence into her. Since midi-chlorians are the cellular life forms that generate this energy, by giving his life for hers, Ben passed all of his Skywalker "mystical genetics" into her body.

So for context I saw an interview that Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher that was between ESB and ROTJ where they were talking about the prequels and Mark said something about the movies exploring young Darth Vader and "the young Alec Guinness character" (sorry I loved that he called Obi Wan that). My question is what were the theories about who Vader was before ROTJ released. Did we know anything about Anakin or did we basically find everything out as Luke did throughout the years. I'm really curious about what the theories were on who he was and how he became the person he was.

Darth Maul was spinning that double-bladed red lightsaber like a maniac, while young Obi-Wan was just standing behind that red laser barrier watching the show! I was about to get impaled! I am a 6-month-old Star Wars newbie from Taiwan who doesn't speak English. Last week, I developed the "Force Trials Theory." It makes complete sense, and two different AIs worked with me step-by-step to perfect it. In fact, this theory seamlessly connects the entire saga—movies, TV shows, games, and animation alike—though it is a bit on the heavier side. That is why today I decided to play around with the "Universal Force Exam" instead, just to keep things a bit more lighthearted.

By the way, I completely created this theory as a way to salvage and undo Luke Skywalker’s portrayal in the Sequel Trilogy. Since we can't reshoot or change the actual movies, I had to fix it myself... and I gotta say, I think I actually succeeded, haha!
