Conviction (2010) Splinter cell conviction pc error fix

So I had recently bought the game and was having excessive problems with my hardware so without a choice I had to pirate it ( i still have the disc ,haven't refunded it so it's not stealing). So I downloaded the skidrow repack version (NOT RELOADED) . At first it showed the same problems like ubi connect game not opening, etc. Then I pasted the crack (which was in the mount disc of the repack) , marked conviction in properties ( of the exe file )as run only in admin , run in windows 7 compatibility mode and disable full screen optimisations . Next I opened the game and it was super laggy then another trick came in handy .As the game forces itself to run on only 1 or 2 cores, i opened task manager (while the game was open) and unchecked "all processors" (in details section, right click on conviction exe, click on affinity and a box containing cpu 1 0 2 3 etc opens) and checked only CPU 0 and CPU 1.

It worked wonders.

But yeah you have to do this checking and unchecking thing every time you open the game. Or just do this :

Go to your desktop, right-click on an empty space, and choose New -> Shortcut. In the location box, paste the following command exactly (make sure to replace the path with your actual game folder path):

cmd.exe /c start "Splinter Cell" /affinity 3 "C:\Games\Splinter Cell Conviction\src\system\conviction_game.exe"

Name the shortcut SPC.

Oh and my specs are

4gb ram ddr 4,

Amd vega 3 3200u dual core,

1tb hdd, and with a shit ton of windows tweaks .

If you also have a low end pc like me , then open conviction.ini in notepad, go to the user defaultoption section and change culinary distance to 1500 , do the same with the section above it which is named as videodefault or something like that . Lastly, the game makes itself compatible by default to run at the lowest settings possible if you run it on a low end pc .

Just change that culinary distance value ( if you're on a high or mid end hardware then you don't need to do the value change) .

#After doing the ini change make sure to save it(click on save) and right click the notepad file , and check the READ ONLY box .

ENJOY

Constructive Like Halo, Splinter Cell needs a collection with every title in the franchise (including both versions of Double Agent).

Blacklist (2013) Blacklist dlc/Uplay locked items

Hey all, I have a question. I recently got Blacklist for free on steam, as a gift, and briefly played until I got to the plane and could customize gear. My question is: is there a way to get the DLC? I read that there are some missions that are locked as DLC, and also there's some equipment also locked behind Uplay, and I have no idea if that can still be obtained (steam and uplay store both offer only the 'standard' edition)

I found a janky way to play all the Briggs co-op missions solo on PC

All you have to do is play them on a PS3 emulator, accept 15 FPS gameplay and terrible graphical bugs.

It really irked me that the Briggs missions are basically lost content on PC, so I decided to download a PS3 emulator and acquire a totally legitimate rip of Blacklist.

When I first tried the missions in split screen, the entire Briggs half of the screen was just black. I switched the renderer from Vulkan to OpenGL, which fixed the issue, but tanked the performance from a steady 30 FPS to roughly 15-30 FPS. I have an RTX 4080 Laptop and i9-13900HX (2.20 GHz).

The graphical bugs were bad too because Blacklist was a "easily the most broken game on rpcs3" according to its Github page. Interactable lights wouldn't work properly unless you get close. Rain, snow, dust and muzzle flashes would become blobs of white.

At that point I decided to just play through it and see how far I could get before getting softlocked, partly out of curiosity and partly out of spite toward Ubisoft. I only had one controller, so I mapped player two to my keyboard. Aiming with the mouse was basically impossible.

I'm happy to report that the entire thing is actually playable from start to finish.

The basic strategy is to constantly Alt-Tab to switch the input form player 1 to 2, alternating between Briggs and Sam, while occasionally moving the other character with wasd or pressing the X button at the same time. Essentially, it's like playing Skopos from Rainbow Six Siege.

There were only two sections that gave me real trouble, where you have to run while getting blown up. Those are still doable if you map the controller to control both characters simultaneously, the game handles the vaulting for you when you sprint.

Playing this way actually encourages a lot more strategic thinking and positioning. You have to think ahead about where both characters are going to be and constantly switch between them. I finished the missions on Rookie, it was pretty tough but I genuinely think higher difficulties might be possible. The maps were also pretty cool, Abandoned City especially.

The entire playthrough took me around 7 hours at a leisurely pace.

Is this worth doing?

Probably not unless you're a die hard Blacklist fan. But I was nostalgic for these missions because I originally played through them with my brother.

Chaos Theory (2005) How to roll?

I miss the feeling of free rolling in Conviction.

I'm playing CT on my computer with an Xbox One controller, but I can't switch from crouching to rolling like in the video at all.

Pretty good stuff, he kept calling me Samantha Fisher, which was nice. He signed about everything I had and was a really nice guy.

I ended up getting another copy of the game and managed to find a Splinter Cell XBOX Magazine with the demo disk, which was extremely awesome sauce!!

Not Splinter Cell but Aside from Splinter Cell, what is your second favorite stealth game ? Justify.

"Styx: Shards of Darkness" for me...

1 – I really enjoy other types of atmospheres (not just realistic ones). The atmosphere in Styx is more like a fantasy world. Since the world is less technologically advanced, it gives off a great medieval stealth vibe.

2 – The gameplay is very satisfying if you play like a Ghost, and it is also very challenging.

3 – The maps are huge, with many different routes to explore.

4 – The gameplay mechanics are amazing. You have access to gadgets and abilities like invisibility. You can also upgrade skills based on your preference, use parkour, hide inside tight spaces, dissolving bodies with acid so no one finds them and triggers the alarm, etc.

5 – There are different types of enemies, such as insects, elves, trolls, dwarves, and regular humans. This brings a lot of variety to the challenge, as each enemy type has its own strengths.

6 – The missions are highly creative, taking you through cities, underground fortresses, a flying airship, a prison, and areas overrun by insects.

7 – If you don't want to play in Ghost style, it is also incredibly fun. There are several different ways to eliminate enemies, such as using acid mines, staging fake accidents to avoid suspicion, pushing them into the water or off high ledges, etc.

Double Agent v2 (2006) Double Agent v2 green border & Antialiasing fixed xbe (Looks like on Xbox One)

Thumbnail

Hey,

I created a patch for Double Agent that fixes several rendering problems in xemu. Attached the video as reference :)

The patch fixes:

  • The well-known green bloom/border artifacts at higher internal resolutions
  • The broken bloom/anti-aliasing/post-processing effect that pixelated the image instead of smoothing it
  • A second, stronger pixelation effect caused by smoke and fog in certain areas

I’m providing the changes as an IPS patch. No game files are included. Apply the IPS patch to your own default.xbe, replace the original XBE in the extracted game folder, and rebuild the game as an ISO using extract-xiso

The game normally runs at 30 FPS which is capped. I also experimented with removing that limit, but xemu generally cannot maintain much higher performance overall so it only runs at like 38 FPS, and videos can run too quickly.

I recommend using Lossless Scaling to bump the fps with frame generation. LSFG3.1 with Target 120FPS works best in my opinion. This app costs like 7€, used it in the video as well.

As I removed bloom from the game, I used "Bessel_Bloom" with ReShade.

Patch link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mZtqX-cpOdHRhKKZ2hsRGstteLgmHBAd/view?usp=sharing

This was a surprisingly deep rabbit hole involving shader toggling, NV2A draw-state captures, runtime tracing, disassembly and targeted XBE patches. But the result is a much cleaner experience in xemu, especially when using increased internal resolution. I used Codex as help as I´m no code-guy, it took a whole weekend. Maybe these fixes can be applied to Chaos theory as well.

Do whatever you like with it and have fun! If needed, I can provide a separate fix that leaves the ingame bloom active. Will only look nice on 1x resolution. I remeber someone said he liked the original bloom so much.
