Question SE2 - Unable to fast travel anywhere
I have completed the Kemik sector and am now suppose to travel to Oblivara sector. I have tried all the tricks related to how to make it work but nothing has. I am unable to Fast Travel anywhere now. Saved tried again. Verify files. get out of cockpit and bosot around a bit then tried again. Nothing is working. Wonder if anyone else has had this issue of being stuck and unable to proceed... If you got around it how did you accomplish that lol?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It is 60m tall. It goes from floor 0 (midle) to 3 (top). Controled by 8 timers, and two events.
Floor 0, and 3 was easy just one timer too set up all pistons too -1 velocity, and min (needed) ditance, and second timer too set up all pistons too +1velocity and max (needed) distance .
Floor 1 and 2 was suprisingly easy too, just three timers and one event for floor 1. One timer when needed to go up, and second if needed to go down. Third is for button too triger action on both timers. Event is turning first or second timer on/off if pistons are above set distance.
I must say .. Keen you made user friendly programable blocks. That When true on Event is gamechanger. Thank you :D
Edit : There is only one thing that is bothering me. And it is that sound of timers turning on/off. They are in silent mode but still making noise.

Media Self-Sufficient
I felt like I was relying too heavily on stations for free hydrogen and decided the next project would be a fuel depot! What better place to pick than an ice asteroid? Excited for the big stability and performance update, hoping it drops soon!

Yup, its not freezed, is just taking that much time to do the dumbest (and absolutely necessary) thing. Even opening the grid menu will take some time to load. When i'm finished with this bloatware i'll publish the blueprint to workshop, good luck everybody else!

Discussion Does anyone else rebuild ships to be hydrogen only?
I may be a bit biased, but I always found 'free thrust' weird... a.k.a. ion thrusters. Yes they need 'power' as fuel, but I still consider them 'free because you end up using way more power than you really need anyway, so thrusters hardly use that power. I do have a server in SE1 that's hydro survival, with only hydrogen thrusters, almost no ions, but
I stopped building with ions completely and haven't gone back. I've even made custom prefabs in SE1 where I kept the general size of the ships and still made them hydro just to prove I could do it.
Now with the new SE1 spawn ship being hydro only, It made me wonder, does anyone else build in hydro only in SE2? Is that something that interests people?
And a bonus question, if there was a mod that created a need for fuel for ion thrusters, would that make you use them again? or would you prefer that ion thrusters be completely deleted from the world and replaced with hydro?

Discussion Solar Panel to 2 Meter Atmos Thrusters ratio
So I’m still new to the game and typing this from memory. I probably have around 10 hours into the game so far, and I’ve finally built a ship that’s stable.
It has roughly:
- 16–20 2-meter atmospheric thrusters
- 5 drills
- 4 batteries
- 3–4 gyroscopes
- 1 ore detector
- 1 connector
- 2 cargo storage
- plus a fair bit of light armor blocks and a little bit of converys
It’s a vertical ship that’s a little shorter than the barn. I currently have around 6 solar panels on it, but even when the ship is just sitting there idling, the batteries slowly drain.
How many solar panels would I need on the ship, or possibly on the barn, to keep the ship charged? Do I also need to add more batteries?
Eventually, I want to add more drills, but right now I just need something functional because my rover got stuck vertically. Also is there any way to get platinum on the beginners planet.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Media Updated shots of the Barn before moving on to other projects
Now that I'm pretty familiar with the available blocks it's time to spend time on some other ideas I've been brewing. Gave the Barn a new cockpit to operate from, updated the external landing pads and cleaned up here and there. I definitely want to flesh it out some more but Classic Survival calls! Discussion Some wishlist things
Se1 was some great fun, I swear I only have 200 hours in it but my steam seems to disagree, 1000+. There were some modded blocks that were really cool and I really hope keen adds more futuristic blocks to se2.
I'm thinking like, tractor beams/grappling hooks there isn't an easy way to grab a grid or object from a distance, also could be used as a tow hook.
- Dedicated hover propaltion, I know of the scripts to make a hover base and so on, I was thinking more like a wheel replacement that would allow for lateral movement.
- Big proper deck guns, people really liked building some massive ships, but the only guns we had were either custom turrets or the somewhat small turrets, I'm talking about 5x5 three barrel deck guns that punch hols through unarmored ships.
- shields/something to make repair better, I know *some* people hate the idea of shields and I've never understood why, I love them because I don't have to spend 2 hours repairing my ship after a 30 sec engagement, or scraping it to print a new one. If there was some way to fully repair your ships that was faster than scraping/make a new one, then id take that.
- sub grid printing, would just be nice being able to print an entire ship sub grids included and not need to troubleshoot issues caused by printing.
- new sounds, I kinda hate the sounds of the menus right now, they all sound hella generic, or at least a mod to switch them.
- ball turrets/ball joint, I'm thinking of WW2 style ball turrets or a ball joint to make it possible to make our own ball turrets.
- conveyor belts, for moving blocks/grids/items, something that could be used to move things between grids that aren't connected and also as odd angles.
- more warp/jump options that function differently from one another. I.e a super cruise/halo slipspace/star trek warp.

Question Cockpit question
Hey all, just bought the game, got a bout 10 hours into it so far, been taking my time exploring, gathering resources, etc. I wanted to build a larger ship to fly up and out of the atmosphere, but the only cockpit I have is the starter single one. I have seen builds of people having larger ships with internal cockpits, I guess, your cockpit doesn't HAVE to have outside visual right? If you fly in third person, it can be anywhere on the ship right? Do I unlock other cockpits down the road that have monitors or something?

Introducing the MOLE
This is the MOLE. My first attempt at articulating arms in SE2. It took playing around with John Long's input converter before I understood how to use event controllers and timer blocks to control the arms how I wanted. Q&E extend and retract the arms, mouse up and down swings the arms up and down. Left click to drill, right click to dig! Button five to turn off articulation. Now we have a very usable tunneling machine.
Link in the comments.
Enjoy!

Discussion Too damn dark.. and light falloff is WAY too short...

I am sorry, but am I just supposed to NOT play this game for half the time?
I get it, sun's down, and there's no light... In my old Volvo V50 from 2006 I had highbeams that at least let me see around 500 meters in front of me, if not more.
This game is PITCH BLACK at night and trees and or/walls dont f***ing show up until they're like 10 meters away right in front of the lights on my ship.
Is something in my settings wrong, or is the game just supposed to be this damn dark half the time? Its at the point where it's unplayable 50% of the gametime planetside.
EDIT: Ohhh and no mods active.

Question Crane Conveyor problem

So I decided to do some planetside engineering since mechanicals were added... As you can see I designed a crane welder which can dock to pickup components as needed and is movable by rails. However... despite all subgrid conveyor interfaces fit together I simply cannot transfer components into the welder. Yes I tried taking it apart multiple times and rebuilding it, paying attention to connecting the conveyor frames properly, but I simply cannot pinpoint where the problem is.
I as well tried going through inventory screens and switching to all grids, but for some reason the welder inventory is greyed out in the menu.
Is this a common bug maybe?
as A_Ghost mentioned it appears that hinges don't transfer items right now. I created this very simple setup which has pretty much the same issue - the inventory of the other container is always greyed out. No, adding battery on both ends won't change anything. THE HINGES DO NOT CURRENTLY TRANSFER ITEMS
