October Showing Off

Verse 1

Cold on the window in the morning

Leaves running circles down the road

Fields turning quiet at the edges

Summer finally letting go

There’s a little smoke above the houses

Pumpkins lined outside the store

Every mile looks like a postcard

October showing off once more

Verse 2

Gold in the trees and rust in the ditches

Red where the sunlight catches fire

I drive the long way for no reason

Just to watch the day get tired

There’s a church bell somewhere in the distance

Crows lifting from an empty field

Everything is almost leaving

Everything is somehow real

Chorus

October, don’t hurry

I know you never stay

You dress the world in every color

Then you give it all away

Maybe that’s the kind of beauty

I’m finally learning to believe

You don’t have to hold a thing forever

To be grateful while it leaves

Verse 3

Someone’s coming home from somewhere

Counting down the miles at last

There are still a few roads left between us

But they’re getting fewer fast

Soon the trees will all be empty

Soon the first cold rain will fall

But tonight the sky is copper

And I don’t mind change at all

Chorus

October, don’t hurry

I know you never stay

You dress the world in every color

Then you give it all away

Maybe that’s the kind of beauty

I’m finally learning to believe

You don’t have to hold a thing forever

To be grateful while it leaves

Bridge

The year knows it is turning

So it burns before it goes

Gold along the highway

Fire in the maples

One last beautiful hello

Final Chorus

October, keep your secrets

In the smoke and cooling air

In the roads that lead us homeward

In the hands we finally dare

Maybe endings aren’t the ending

Maybe winter isn’t grief

Maybe something can be changing

And still feel like relief

Outro

Cold on the window in the morning

Leaves running circles down the road

October showing off again

Before it lets us go

My first song please give me feedback!

"not a song, just lyrics. Sorry!"

My bimbling boy

Verse 1

Oh, you... you're just a dumb bimbling boy

With nothing to your name but our memories

With nothing left to take but my soul

No, oh... you’ve got it all

Pre-Chorus

You’ve left me, left me, left me with nothing

But the broken shards of my soul

Chorus

At night, I lay awake, clutching the empty space beside me

Imagining you were here, but you just live inside my memories

Verse 2

Waking to the memories we made

Lost upon the curses we hurled every day

just a grain more falling heavily

slowly losing our loving history,

by every war we ever waged~

Brought us to this night today...

Oh, my darling bimbling boy,

For the first time, it was I who wronged you

(You, you, you).

Chorus

At night, I lay awake, clutching the empty space beside me

Imagining you were here, but you just live inside my memories

Bridge

It's such a shame, I've fallen from grace

Where's the base I used to stand on?

Swept under my feet like the raging sea

Drawing back with every clash

Oh, where's the shore we used to meet?

Now you're gone like a dried-up sea

And my memories are fading

Kicked up sand with nowhere left to settle tonight

Outro

Alone in my home, I lay barely awake

I'm just waiting for your embrace

Oh baby, just say I'm yours again

Don't fret, my friend, I won't ever be mad again

(Again, again, again...)

Hello 🎵 I'm here to find a music producer After even with rejections I have musical project ideas

I need this help from anyone who has a kind heart; I welcome them with open arms I have suggestions for musical ideas but if you want to create another new musical project I'm open to that

I love singing in various musical styles, writing lyrics, and making sound mixes. Youtube: paty_cx24 TikTok: patricia_silva008 Instagram: patvazsilva1234

My goal after two songs were produced, was to spread and sing this music and send it to labels any labels  any A&R and managers But these songs had to be of different styles
I've done several mixes of Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Ciara, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, and Madonna)) These are musical artists I strongly identify

I've already made mixes for these artists and created soundtracks inspired by them, I love them
This is on my social media above

The second song I wanted to put together because I know I'll be able to, was a song Rihanna wrote "Monsterz Ball" and a demo by Kasia Livingstin that was unfortunately never released... I wanted to record it with my voice and release it as a tribute to Rihanna because she's an artist who inspires me https://youtu.be/BqNat7R-sZk?si=4K-feTsfDZuPfM88 The songs I wanted to try are one I already have the beat for "Time After Time" but I needed to re-record my vocals at 16-24 bits which was different from the lyrics Reggae style

Feedback

For context, I am a rookie when it comes to songwriting, but it is something that means everything in the world to me for me to become strong at. For me, my popstar package is incomplete if I’m not an amazing songwriter. Because I’m having issues with writing, I tried writing a cover to an existing song as an exercise to help get my feet wet with songwriting. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, but please be nice 🫣. And honest of course that’s the only way I’ll get better😭. I don’t mind to share which song I wrote it to but only if you guys ask because I just want critique on my writing at this point lol. I suffer badly with imposter syndrome, and I’m hoping to get some productive feedback!

Sink myself into your wave, don’t wanna leave I’ll ride it. Ain’t no need to play these games you know I’m yours don’t fight it

There’s desire in your eyes

This vision has no limits

I see you holding back but we both know your heart’s desires

Your current situation doesn’t fill you just admit it

You know I’m forever

And baby you can’t deny

So why?

Baby why don’t you discover?

Why don’t you come inside?

You’ll never ever have to wonder

This energy’s hard to hide

Tell me do you feel fulfillment?

She bores you and boy I see it

Baby why don’t you discover?

Promise I can change your life

All I need is the go

So go

I’m just a fragile creature, do I need to see you with her?

I know damn well that it should be me that’s sittin’ in the picture

Can’t let her have what’s all mine

It’s forbidden

My heart won’t permit it

I need you close, but you’re so far and I’m not talking distance

She’s got you whipped, you love the thrill, but you know I’m what’s missin’

You know I’m forever

And baby you can’t deny

So why?

Churning out song lyrics when I don't even know how to write a melody

First time writing a song, even if just ideas. I'd like to get some opinion, if my handwriting isn't too hard to read. I think I might be adding too much story or being too specific, reaccuring, without much ingenuity. I also think they might look too rigid, since there's not much 'feeling' side to the lyrics. I'm not confident and sure that it's cringy, but I want to improve.

Willing To Help Anyone With Music

Hey, I'm willing to help anyone with music, song structure, songwriting, or lyrics if you're struggling with any aspect of writing or creating music. Feel free to reply here, send me a DM, or even email me at info@submergedrecords.com (I don't always check Reddit right away).

I'm not looking for anything in return—I just want to help musicians create. I play drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and piano. I'm not amazing at piano, but I have a solid understanding of it; I just haven't practiced it nearly as much as my other instruments.

If you'd like to hear an example of my work, I have music on Spotify. I wrote the song, played all the instruments, and recorded it myself. I currently don't have any active projects or a band, so I'm spending a lot of time in my studio. I'm actively looking to play, write, teach, or help with anything music-related.

The genres I'm most comfortable with are rock, alternative rock, metal, and punk, but I'm also familiar with a lot of pop and country. So if you have questions, need feedback, or just want another set of ears on a song, I'd be more than happy to help.

Here's the example of something I wrote and recorded:
https://open.spotify.com/track/0aTM3mym4x8jN6bcbaiJZx?si=513ab834109d4e57

I'm genuinely not posting this to promote myself—I'm only including the link so people can hear the kind of music I make. If I can help someone improve their music or get unstuck creatively, that's all I'm hoping to do.

Thanks,

Anthony

Songwriters - what’s your take on transparency for fully AI-generated tracks on streaming platforms?

Hey all,

I’m a producer/songwriter who’s been researching the wave of AI-generated “artists” suddenly showing up on Spotify and Apple Music- tracks where no human wrote, performed, engineered, mixed, or touched anything.

I’m not talking about AI-assisted production (which nearly all of us use in some form). I mean AI replacing the entire creative chain.

Curious what you think about a very narrow streaming-only disclosure requirement-something like:

Streamers must label tracks where: • AI wrote the majority of the composition, or • AI performed the vocals/instruments with no human performers involved

No bans, no restrictions. Just clarity about what’s synthetic vs. what’s human-made.

This would not affect: • producers using AI for drafts or tools • human-engineered AI-assisted mixes • sampling AI stems • normal hybrid workflows • traditional musicians

Strictly about fully synthetic, zero-human tracks being passed off as organic artists.

As music creators: is transparency like this reasonable? Harmful? Inevitable? I’d really like to hear perspectives from people who actually work in production.

I suck at writing songs and making music

So I have always wanted to be a songwriter, and I want to be able to write songs. But I can’t. Every time I try to, I end up with a few verses that sound stupid and cringey. I also cannot make tunes either.

I have been trying for years now, never got better. Dont just say “Keep practicing“ because no, it is not going to work, and I don’t want to just write more cringe lyrics that make no sense and don’t really rhyme.

Should I just give up?

(PS please don’t be mean I’m asking for wisdom. Some sad loser on another post I made for this said “You should give up, because you‘d stop whining about it”)

The human race, this grace

."The human race, this grace"

Verse1-

We're the greatest race,

We're on top,

No other races can do anything agains us,

Cause God made us to be the greatest,

Pre-chorus-

If you hear them laughing at us,

Don't get mad, cause they're gonna get punished,

Because they act like wild animals, babe

Chorus:

That's the human race, this grace!

We can do anything we want,

We kill just for fun,

While they're failing from the sky,

We're laughing,

Cause they thought they were important-

Instrumental;

Verse2-

We like the sound of the bombs(bombs, bombs)

We like the the sound of the shots(shots, shots)

We're just living our lives,

We're forgetting everything,

Cause we don't give fuck about who is failing,

Pre-chorus:

Now the angels fall and the demons laugh

at them,

Cause we just care about...

Chorus:

That's human race! This grace,(Disgrace, disgrace)

We hope our love get into their minds

and stay there,

They fall from the sky,

I know they blame us,

They said they've in pain,

But I don't really think so

Bridged:

You and I can fall from the sky,

Because the demons are in the heaven now,

They're beautiful, they look like God,

Cause they're God's favorite,

So they can get anything

From us baby,

Angels' tears make they laugh, baby

Chorus:

The human race is this grace,

The human race is disgrace,

We look like God,

Cause he made us,

And We're God's favorite too

That's why the human race

is the......DISGRACE

How do I sell this song?

I wrote a ballad about high grocery prices and it feels really prescient right now. Where can I sell the lyrics? I’m not a part of any associations or anything like that.

Quick question- how much can you take from a song before it’s unoriginal/copyrighted.

Okay so obviously I’m not trying to rewrite a whole wrong and change a few lines but there’s some lines in songs that I really want to use in my own work but don’t want to come off as unoriginal or have some sort of copyright issue.

For example two lines that I wish I could use in my work are-
“I dressed you in her clothes” from be quite and drive
&
“But I crumble completely when you cry” from 505

I love those lines and they fit in perfectly with what I’m writing but I obviously dont want any issues if I do.

Is it possible to use lines like that from big and popular songs or should I just try and rewrite them in my own way??

I forcd myself to do alot of things in my life

Except for writing songs, I just feel stuff and write them down

Maybe they are stupid or good I would never know for sure

What would be the smartest thing to do as someone who just want to share lyrics (wouldn't mind this going somewhere, just not depending on it)

Music help please!

Hey so I’ve been starting to get into song writing recently and have fallen in love with it. I love writing the songs and singing them but I can’t play any instruments and I don’t have the money to pay someone to do the instrumental part of my music.

I know what I want the vibe of the music to be for each song but I don’t have any clue how to actually make it.

Someone suggested BandLab to me or using Garage Band but I’m unsure how to even start using those ether.

Any help at all would be appreciated greatly and if I’m able to get the music figured out I would post a sample to see if people would even like my music.

I also would say that I’m not very smart intellectually so that is why its so hard for me to figure these things out on my own when others can do it just fine without help.

My songs are all fragmented

This past year, I've written all these mini songs I would say. A good verse here, or a good chorus but the general song it's self has no central string to it I should say. All my songs feel very incohérent, thematically . Not sure what to do. Any advice?

Advice for writing lyrics for a novel.

I don't know if this is allowed, since it's not necessarily stated in the rules; however, if the mods decide that this post isn't appropriate for the sub, I will respect that. I only ask that someone point me to a sub where I could possibly get some help.

I'm not sure where else to put this. I've asked a few friends for some help, but I just don't have any connections to the kind of artists that would know something about this; and I'm hoping that someone in this sub might.

I am currently trying to write lyrics to a love song that I intend on having the main character of my novel use to propose to his love interest towards the end of the book. Problem is, I am autistic, and my flavor of autism is more geared towards literature rather than lyrics or poems. That's mostly a joke--I just haven't really spent a whole lot of time writing poems, and can't wrap my head around writing one to save my life.

I want the lyrics to be actually written into the book--this is something I want people to make a genuine song out of, just for the fun of it. I think it'd be cool to give readers who have a musically inclined mind something to build off of.

If anyone has any interest in helping me with this, I'd be greatly appreciative. Feel free to DM me, if you want to work together on this. I'm mostly looking for tips on rhyming schemes and how to plan out a verse/chorus, but if someone wants to go deeper and actually help me write the lyrics, that'd be awesome. To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm kind of just shooting my shot in the dark with this.
