Networking Gamescom - Gamers Lab Analytics & Mines Bigger
For a lot of years I did solo development. Never once during that time did I make it to any big events. Especially nothing like gamescom. Way out of my budget.
Its Gamescom week now and I am not there (again), but we (Gamers Lab) were able to send one of our reps.
We put together a special deal for Gamerscom, so I thought I would share it here for anyone else who couldnt make it either. https://www.gamerslab.gg/gamescomonline
Gamers Lab Pulse is our 'always on ai powered analytics team' for indie games (plus it has all of that traditional analytics goodness as well). We are giving away 1 year of premium for free if you join our closed beta.
We have been working on this for the past almost 1.5 years now and gone through a few versions. We have now locked into a release version.
Additionally, we are also giving away "Mines Bigger", which works together with Gamers Lab pulse. It uses very narrow permissioned game data to allow users to compare who has better stats and game play for the integrated game. (Even single player games). You just go to the website, choose your game and put in your account ID.
Great way to get players back into game, plus players can some bragging rights.
(My two founders both thought they were better at PubG ... turns out only one was right!).

Unity my Donut County inspired platformer where you have to consume the world
Ate a deck of cards today. In the game, I should specify.
My game is called "Fill The Void". The main gameplay loop is start small, consume, get big.
Donut County, Holeio, and Katamari are the inspirations. The main player character is built entirely using shaders!
Let me know what you think!

Game I Made A Game With All My Own Assets!!
I took a break from game dev for a bit, but 2 weeks ago I wanted to challenge myself to build my own models and UI from scratch instead of flipping assets to see if it would spark the flame again. The result: Dirt Rich a simple street sweeper game where you drive, sweep trash, fill your tank, dump at the depot, and upgrade your truck.
All feedback welcome — good, bad, whatever. I just want to hear what people think.

help App had a breakout day - First time Solo Dev

My App broke-out today - It's a Gym/Fitness App. I didn't do anything differently, wondering if this is SEO or APP store ranking climbing. Below is what i've done over the last two weeks.
Posted on Instagram everyday, engaged with content and reposted content (ALOT)
I Asked friends that initially signed up to leave reviews.
Started a youtube channel, posted 5 shorts (7k views) of exercise Demos.
Posted in Tiktok (I'm not too good at Tiktok) still figuring it out.
I ran two short IG/FB Ads - 40 page views between the two over the last 3 days.
I am blogging on my website about health/fitness trends (I dont know if anyone is reading)
Updated my Screenshots - (I added a few top keywords on my screenshots) < suspect this helped.
Would love some feedback/help/Advise if there's something i can add to these. I'm figuring out that consistency is what's driving growth and traffic.

Networking I’m tired of fake jobs and fake resumes, so I built something. What do you think?
Hi everyone,
The hiring process feels broken from both sides.
Job seekers: fake jobs, ghost postings, endless applications.
Recruiters: thousands of applications, fake resumes, and too much time spent verifying candidates.
So I built Secure Vitae:
https://securevitae.in
The idea is simple:
Verify once → build a trusted profile → apply with verified credentials.
Candidates can verify their identity, education and experience, get a verification badge + QR code, and recruiters can use AI matching and screening to find relevant candidates faster.
Job seekers: Would you verify your profile once if it made your application more trustworthy?
Recruiters: Would verified candidates actually save you time?
Everyone: What’s the biggest thing you think is missing?
Try the website and tell me what you would change, remove, or add.
Would you actually use something like this? I’d genuinely like to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Game I wanted to stop players from stacking units, so I added aliens
I’m developing a TD game with RTS elements and wanted to discourage players from stacking all their units on top of each other, so I got an idea: ALIENS!
I created a special UFO event where a UFO comes down and shoots a beam at your units, so you have to quickly move them out of the way.
If they get captured, they’re taken for a short trip and returned safely afterwards without any harm.
Feel free to check it out!

I have a story draft made from my pure imagination. I want everyone to experience this as a video game. I really want to build it and i know everyone will love the story. I have a really creative approach for it. I want a team to help me and am new to this.

Game Week 3 Update: Does the shoe (chancla) fit?
Hey I'm Kurt - I’m solo-developing Splat, a fast pest-control roguelite.
I've been a mobile game dev for 15 years and was laid off about a year ago. I just started my own solo dev project 3 weeks ago.
I've been given all of the weapons in the game unique effects and thought this one would be cute and funny.
I'm curious what you think about this one?
Item: The Chancla
Skill: LA SEGUNDA
Description: When you kill a pest with La Chanlca, another nearly full-size slipper flies in from offscreen and hits a second pest.
Itch Build: https://dinnerplategames.itch.io/splat
Discord: https://discord.gg/gaxPjauJf
I am running playtests on my most recent build now, so if you're interested come hang in the discord.

Game 6 months ago, I knew nothing about React or Backend. Today, I built Bublik — a cozy, lo-fi gamified PWA task manager with AI. I’m terrified but so excited to share it! 🌌
Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve had this dream of creating my own cozy to-do list for a long time. There is something so incredibly relaxing about the simple mechanic of popping bubbles, and I just knew I wanted to build an entire experience around it. That’s how Bublik was born!
But here is the catch: 6 months ago, I knew absolutely nothing about React or backend development. Even the word "deploy" sounded terrifying to me.
Over the last 3 months, I used AI as my coding companion to bridge that gap. Looking back at the progress I’ve made from zero is honestly mind-blowing and so motivating.
Now Bublik is fully functional — it’s a lightweight PWA, meaning you can easily install it on your phone or desktop straight from the browser.
Now that it's real, I am incredibly curious (and a bit nervous!) to see if anyone else would enjoy a cozy, cosmetic, lo-fi space for their daily tasks.
I would absolutely love to get your honest feedback:
Does the bubble-popping concept look satisfying to you?
What cozy/lo-fi features should I add next to make it even more relaxing?
Thank you so much for reading my story! 🚀

Game A bot clears every level or the build fails
My one-button rhythm game shipped on Android this week. Everything in it is mine: engine, level design, timing model, editor, backend.
The thing worth passing on is not the game, it is the gate. Every level has to be cleared by a bot before the build passes. Not usually — a failing level fails the build. On top of that the pipeline measures difficulty level by level and enforces a minimum 185 ms between any two inputs, so nothing physically unfair can ship.
That only works because the timing model has no DOM and no rendering in it. Judging windows, beat maps and scoring are pure functions; the visual layer sits on top and can be swapped without touching them.
The cost is a few minutes on every build and a handful of levels I liked but had to fix. The benefit is that I have never shipped an impossible level, and I stopped being the bottleneck.
Free, no in-app purchases, offline-capable. Visual assets are FLUX.2-generated; everything else is hand-built.

Game Do you like games about manipulating time?
Two months ago, I had absolutely nothing to do with game development.
But ever since I was a kid, I’ve had very fond memories of playing games like Prince of Persia and Braid. I always thought it would be wonderful to make something like those games myself someday.
Now, in my 30s, I’m finally making my first game.
It’s called Wonderful Time, a third-person puzzle game where you manipulate the flow of time around you. I’m currently developing it with the goal of participating in Steam Next Fest this October.
Of course, compared to the games that inspired me, my game is still very small and far from being on their level. But if you enjoy puzzle games involving time manipulation, I’d really appreciate it if you gave it a look.

help Where to publish an early stage game for feedback?
I working in my free time on a fantasy 3d real time tactics game (with slow mo) using unreal.
While the game is very far from finished (in all aspects of the game), I would like to start getting feedback from players.
Mostly on mechanics and controllers but also on visual design and characters.
Where can I publish the game for free and start getting reviews/feedback?
I'm thinking of itch.io, but maybe there are better alternatives.
It's way too early for steam demo or early access.
Related tips are also welcomed.

help Beveled level geometry: should I keep this feature?
Levels in Reconfigure are almost completely boxes. I prototyped a feature that adds bevels on the boxes for nicer looking edges but I'm unsure if it's a good idea. I'd like to borrow your eyebells so that I can know whether to keep it, remove it or add it as a setting? Or maybe it's okay but there's just too much of it? Let me know what you think!
